## What is ARU?

Welcome to the ARU app! Whether you're already studying at ARU or about to join us, our handy app is packed with information and functionality to guide you through your university studies, no matter which campus you're at.

Access everything from one app, including your teaching timetable, your student email account, and key systems like Canvas, e:Vision, and My ARU.

Based on student feedback, we've made some improvements to the design and functionality of the ARU app to make sure it's easy to use and faster than ever. The app is brighter and easier to navigate, with plenty of exciting content and features to support you while studying at ARU.

We've introduced an interactive map feature to help you navigate our campuses, and you can discover your next timetabled class on your personalised home screen. Recently, we've also added display themes, a dark mode feature, improved navigation, food and drink menus on campus, and even a university alert banner so you can get important updates even faster.

On top of all that, you can now view your student timetable, canvas courses, and to-do lists directly in the ARU app, putting everything you need all in one place.

I have just downloaded this app for the first time and it will open but won’t let me go past the welcome screen so I can’t login or do anything

Everytime I try to log in it says I need access granted by my administrator

The app won’t open on my phone. It would open a few days ago, but now it won’t load anything.

Does not even update my time table properly wish I didn’t uninstall the old version

### 1/5 — New App removes easy way to check emails

In the former app, you could log in and access your emails through the app itself. 

This new one redirects you to whatever browser you use. Problem with this means I have to then log out of my main personal email address to log in and check my uni emails (they both use outlook). 

Problem with doing this it then logs me out of any linked outlook accounts I use on my phone/browser and then I find myself having to log back into my person email. 

Basically it’s a huge annoyance now having to switch between the two email accounts, when before I didn’t have to faff about.

We appreciate that having to access email via different logins with your device browser can be frustrating. 

To support with these concerns, an updated version of the new ARU app will be made available within the next two weeks, to support seamless linking to your ARU Email within your browser.

· A new attendance check-in feature is now available for eligible students. Use the app to mark your attendance every time you attend a scheduled class. It’s quick, secure, and easy to use.

For ARU distance learners:
· We have introduced a new Digital ID card feature. Distance learners can now view their official ARU student ID directly in the app. You can use it to show you're a student while you're at ARU.

We’ve made some exciting new updates to improve your experience while using the app:

· We have introduced a new ‘dark mode’ function that you can use across the entire ARU app. Dark mode will invert the typical colour scheme of your screen, displaying a darker background with lighter text and icons. You can now easily switch display themes within your app settings to toggle dark mode.
· A new Canvas dashboard can now be viewed directly within the app, showing a summary of all your courses, important statistics, and quick links to your to-do items and assignments.
· Priority notifications from ARU will now pop up in the app, giving you important university updates directly to your device.
· We have made some general accessibility improvements to help you navigate around the app more easily. This includes the touch area around the refresh button on the Timetable Agenda list and the Library landing page.
