There needs to be a major UI overhaul and there’s a lot that doesn’t make sense. I needed to be more intuitive. ### 3/5 — Needs some iPhone fixes *2025-10-17, version 3001.3.0* My husband doesn’t seem to have issues on his android. Some time ago on my app it requires me to at least tap the memo area before giving me the option to finish transferring money between my accounts. I never had to do the previously and it’s annoying, especially if tapping on the screen it doesn’t respond to me hitting the memo area just right. Then I can’t finish the transfer. Making this hard is that the menu on the bottom of the screen/app is in the way. When I am on my accounts page looking things over, if I start scrolling down the page, the menu bar at the bottom moves to the middle of the page. When I reached out for help my help session was ended early by the person on the line before they could even answer me. The 2nd attempt, they gave me a vague response. I finally found a link to external payments where I had to make ANOTHER account. And then I made a payment there. After making my payment, it shows up in history but the app still says I have my first payment due even though I just made the payment. Overall this app is just very frustrating and confusing to use. Logged in today to discover I’ve been charged for the pleasure of allowing someone else use my money for MONTHS. I can’t for the life of me find any notification alerting me to this. On top of that trying to use the chat causes a glitch and I have frequent log in issue despite using a password manager. They STILL do not offer BASIC security like yubikey support and rely on freaking SMS like we’re in 1990. Frankly, they’re worse than several banks I use. Get it together ascend. Consider this member on the way out. ### 1/5 — Can’t use my card for atm. Seriously? *2022-07-30, version 3000.0.2* Hey. Great job at giving me a new card, letting me use it to purchase things with, but not let me use to withdraw cash at an atm. Also, great job at having a phone support staff that’ll transfer me 7-8 times with no resolution whatsoever. No one could give me an answer. When I had a supervisor looking into it, I was put on hold, then transferred again to fraud prevention in India. Guess what? No help there either. I’ve been banking at ascend for decades. I’ve always been able to take cash out when I’m out of town. How am I able to use my card except at an atm? I’m beyond livid. I’m just glad it wasn’t an emergency or if I was stranded and needed cash. ### 1/5 — June 2022 Update Is Trash! *2022-07-25, version 3000.0.2* The old saying goes, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.” Whyyyyy would you update the app to this horrible what you consider improved version? I’ve never been one to keep up with a register because my app has always shown me my TRUE balances even when things are pending, it goes ahead and deducts those things since it’s leaving the account anyway! But not anymore!!!! I have to take the time to do the math myself because pending transactions take forever to show up on the app now and they don’t deduct those from your current balance anymore. Too much going on in the app in general. Waaaayyyy too busy. Lastly, quit asking if it’s really me signing in to my account every time I do so. If I wasn’t really me and trying to sign in to someone’s account, of course I’m going to say I’m that person! I’ve been with y’all for almost 20 years and I despise this new update!!! Listen to your members that have complained and figure out a bipartisan to this trash update! ### 1/5 — New Update is Garbage *2022-06-30* Used to pay my bill with my card from an external source, ie. my non-Ascend debit card. Now, there is no option to pay with an external debit card. To rectify, I added my bank account, and attempted to verify, but was met with my external bank account being locked. Called to pay my loan bill, and sat in queue for 20 mins. So basically, instead of paying my bill in 30 seconds like should be the case in freaking 2022, now I have to sit on hold for 20 mins and unlock my bank account. Good job fixing something that wasn’t broken 👍🏽 ### 1/5 — New widget is horrible *2022-06-28, version 3000.0.1* Why can I only see one account and only the balance of that account? No withdrawals, no deposits, only balance. It was so easy before to look and check exactly what has been withdrawn from any given account. This is by far the worse widget now!
