## What is Ascend?

Never bored. Always logged. Finally consistent.

Ascend turns your stair stepper into a climb with other climbers beside you and every step counted for you. No staring at the console. No forgetting to log. Just climb.

COMPETE WITH OTHER CLIMBERS
Every climb puts other climbers on the stairs beside you, each on their best attempt. See who's just ahead, pass them, and watch your rank change as you climb.

YOUR CLIMBS LOG THEMSELVES
Just wear your headphones. Motion sensors in compatible AirPods or Beats count every step on the machine, in real time. When you step off, the climb is already saved: steps, time and pace. Nothing to remember, nothing to type.

ANALYZE EVERY CLIMB
See your steps, time, pace and splits for every session. Pair a Bluetooth chest strap or connect Apple Health to add heart rate and effort.

BEAT YOUR BEST
Best Efforts turns your climbs into a record book only you can break: most steps, longest climb, fastest pace and more, each tied to the climb that set it.

JOIN A GROWING COMMUNITY
Weekly, monthly and all-time leaderboards. Filter by age, weight and location to see where you stand. Reach the podium, then defend it.

CLIMB FAMOUS TOWERS
Take on the real step counts of the Empire State Building, Taipei 101, the Eiffel Tower, Burj Khalifa and more. Each one has its own leaderboard and one permanent prize: the First Ascent. The first climber to finish keeps it forever, even after someone posts a faster time.

FOLLOW GUIDED WORKOUTS
Guided routines build intervals and changing intensity into your session. Or skip the structure and climb at your own pace, with a step goal if you want one. Every session lands in the same history.

SHARE EVERY CLIMB
Turn any climb into a share card for your story, with the result you earned.

WHAT YOU NEED
• A stair stepper
• Compatible AirPods or Beats headphones (they count your steps)
• Optional: Apple Health for heart rate and active calories, and a Bluetooth heart-rate monitor
Every climb in Ascend comes from a session you do in Ascend.

SUBSCRIPTION
An auto-renewing subscription is required after onboarding. Plans, billing terms and any eligible trial are shown before purchase. Manage your subscription in your Apple Account settings; eligible purchases can be restored in Ascend.

### 5/5 — The Best App for Stairmaster or Stair Stepper Lovers

*2026-09-17*

I highly recommend this app to anybody who uses the stairmaster regularly. It tracks every stairmaster session with insightful statistics and outputs fun cards with data to post to socials. I get to use my regular stairmaster sessions [30-60 minutes] to complete climbs around the world, which makes using the stairmaster even more enjoyable! I race against others during my climbs and feel the presence of a larger stairmaster community (just like the riding community on Peleton).

### 5/5 — My new fav way to track the stair stepper

*2026-08-27*

i’ve used a lot of fitness apps, but most of them treat the stair stepper like an afterthought, which is sad cause it’s my fav machine. this is the first one that focuses on it and I’m loving it.

The tower racing idea is such a cool way to motivate you beat your previous workout and gives my training a completely different feeling. instead of staring at the same number on the machine, you actually have something to chase.

I also really like that it uses my airpods to count steps (no other app has done this as accurate as this one). very well engineered. But my fav part is the live leaderboard. Idk… it makes me competitive seeing someone ahead of you to catch.

I’m so in love with this app. Would give 6 starts if I could. many tks to whoever created this.

### 5/5 — Cool concept

*2026-08-26*

Being able to say you climbed the Eiffel Tower without actually visiting the Eiffel Tower cool concept cool idea will be using more often to track my progress when it comes to working out and my steps journey and when my friends get on it will a great way to get more competitive with it

### 5/5 — MUST DOWNLOAD

*2026-08-25*

I’ve been using the stair stepper for years and my wearable never tracks my steps accurately. I like the step counting functionality and the ability to compete against others and climb the leaderboards to help push myself during my workout. Great UI, would recommend!

- Wear what you earn. Your athlete carries pumpkins on the shoulder or over the head, wears the witch hat and the ghost sheet, and runs in glowing trainers on Ascend Mountain. Try it all on in Your Athlete.
- The first 5,000 steps of every Ascend Mountain climb are haunted this month.
- Home shows what's on and how much you've earned. Profile marks what's new.

Climb Ascend Mountain. Your own athlete climbs an endless mountain staircase while everyone's best on the board races you, step for step. Pass them on the stairs, watch the pack close in behind you, and see exactly where you stand. Build your athlete in a few taps, then choose who you race: everyone, the climbers you pick, your own best or a pacer.

Take the crown. Weekly, monthly and yearly champions now wear it on the leaderboard and on their profile, and every past board stays on record.

Size up any climber. Open a profile to compare your heart rate, per-climb averages and join date side by side. Keep your heart rate private any time in Settings > Privacy.

Look back on every week and month you climbed with new recaps.

Also in this update: climbs over an hour race with correct splits and rivals, your first climb counts even when you leave the app, partial climbs and routines reach the today feed, and your streak runs on Monday weeks.
