### 5/5 — During Parenthood

This app is phenomenal. As a former gamer, I felt like it still applied to me, and I needed the community to keep pushing me to workout with a newborn. 10/10 🌟

### 5/5 — Fun, immersive fitness gaming app!

*2026-06-27*

I happened upon this beautifully thought out app on TikTok one day during a walk on the treadmill. What a way to stay on track especially for us gamers!! I have been following along as the developer and teams have been working hard to put this out for our tracking and enjoyment. You go out on quests all while logging your daily workout and tasks you tackle. Come see for yourselves and enter the training grounds with us!

### 5/5 — Helps me stay motivated

*2026-06-27, version 1.0.5*

I have always had an issue with staying motivated when working out. This story-based progression really helps me stay motivated and actually want to do a workout.

### 5/5 — This is one of my favorite apps

*2026-06-27*

This is a very unique Fitness app. Feel like RPG style games then you’re definitely gonna like this Fitness app I like the storyline and how every mission gives you a new story but a new thing to complete. It also keeps me. On top of other activities that are normally wouldn’t even track like reading and drinking water and walking or even stretching.

### 5/5 — Leveling up my motivation

*2026-06-26, version 1.0.5*

I’m not always motivated to get my workouts in but gamifying helps! The story is engaging and wanting to climb the leader ranks is motivating.

### 4/5 — Fun & Task Friendly

*2026-06-26, version 1.0.5*

If you’re task oriented then this is the app for you :)
It’s an easy and low stress way to do workouts or built healthy habits with fun stories.
Can’t wait to keep going ~

### 5/5 — Fantasy & Fitness

*2026-06-25*

I’m really enjoying this app and it is helping to motivate me to exercise and the drills include fun options like reading, outdoor time and chores. Definitely enjoying and highly recommend for those that enjoy fantasy and those that want a fun way to be motivated.

### 4/5 — Cool concept

*2026-06-25*

While I like everything about the app and how it functions. Theres no way to actually track if you’re doing what you say you’re doing. I can just tap and say “yeah I did all of this” while just sitting here.” Idk. I feel like this defeats the purpose. Actually have a progress bar that tells you how much steps are left in your cardio, or tracking your heart rate for strength training via a smart watch. Something to that extent.

The daily drill motivations are great and engaging.
Looking forward to how the app develops

### 5/5 — Finally got me exercising again!

*2026-06-25*

After years of saying I wanted to get back into exercising regularly, but never properly sticking with anything, this app has been amazing. I began using it at iOS release and am now on an 11-day exercising streak.

I am not someone who can dedicate a ton of time to exercising - I aim for ~20-30 mins a day. This means I can’t progress through the story missions as quickly as some, but I’ve been making plenty of progress nonetheless and do not feel like I’m missing out. Well, okay - maybe sometimes I sneak in an extra workout before bed because I really want to find out what happens next. But I don’t think that’s a negative!

The devs have been immensely helpful and quick to respond to even the smallest of problems. They take feedback seriously and patched the few early-launch bugs very quickly. The little community being built in their Discord server is also wonderfully friendly and supportive.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — ???

*2026-06-25, version 1.0.4*

Couldn’t get past the first 15 minutes of the game. Really tedious reading . Questing not fun. There’s a leaderboard but seems like you can just cheat your way thru it. Not really sure how this motivates me. Subscription not a good option for this

### 1/5 — Can’t even try the app

*2026-06-18, version 1.0.2*

Required to commit to the purchase without even seeing what it is? Too money focused. When I saw this on Kickstarter I was quite interested but this is just sad.

### 1/5 — Locked behind subscription

*2026-06-17, version 1.0.1*

Unfortunately, this is listed as a free game however it’s entirely locked behind a subscription. Zero content unless you’re actively subscribed.

There is a free trial to be fair, but unfortunately it’s just another game trying to lock you into a recurring subscription. Please consider a one time purchase if anything.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-06-17, version 1.0.1*

I had been waiting for this app for a long time. Finally get to play it and it’s locked behind a paywall. After so much money raised through Kickstarter, you still have to pay. So disappointed.

### 3/5 — Incomplete

*2026-07-03*

It feels like an app still in beta testing. The absence of an integration with any real wearables is pretty shocking considering the purpose of this game.

### 3/5 — Good concept but needs more to do for a subscription service

*2026-07-01*

I think this a great concept and I enjoyed my free trial. The story is engaging and the characters are interesting. Group missions were achievable. However, I don’t think it’s worth a subscription fee at this point. I spend maybe 5 minutes on it a day, logging exercise and advancing a mission, and that’s all there is to do. I was able to afford a new weapon just once during the trial and got through one or two quests a day (usually log 60 minutes of exercise). Maybe if the game adds more things to do I would come back and pay, but not for 5 minutes of play a day.

### 3/5 — Decent but not worth paying

*2026-06-22, version 1.0.3*

I love the concept of the game and the immersion through the story and quests. I would disagree this gives motivation to exercise - you can just input 90 mins of cardio just like that and the game will believe you. Any thoughts of connecting to the health app to track time in workouts or number of steps? I feel like the game is quite limited with a lack of customization - completely understand it’s brand new, but it’s not something i’m willing to pay a £6 subscription for at it’s current state.

### 3/5 — Would like to try

*2026-06-17, version 1.0.1*

But can’t get through the character creation screen. Won’t let me go pass that

### 4/5 — Do I need a subscription?

*2026-09-03*

I just downloaded the app and I want to use it without a subscription, dose that work?

### 4/5 — Great so Far

*2026-06-27*

This app does a great job motivating me to log regular exercise. It is best enjoyed with a close friend or family member for motivation as well. The art and story are fun and lightheaded with engaging characters. There are also many ways to improve yourself while playing with daily challenges. I am excited to see what else is added to the app in the future!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wonder app and wonderful staff

*2026-09-02*

Honestly, this app is so much fun and keeps me wanting to work out. Not only is the current product great, they are actively working to make it better and add new and fun features.

The staff is also great. I recently had an issue with logging in and the staff on the support line was so helpful and responsive.

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to gamify working out.

### 5/5 — This app actually makes me want to be active!

*2026-07-29*

I’ve been using this app for about a month now, and I genuinely look forward to logging my workout minutes so I can complete missions and read more of the story! I appreciate that some quests are character/world/story driven, and others are a bit more silly (like tracking down the bean king). Honestly the hardest thing about using the app is remembering to track the habits you can log! It’s a really well rounded fitness and wellness app that rewards any type of movement (not just going to the gym) and wellness beyond the physical body!!

### 5/5 — Interactive Fitness App

*2026-07-16*

Ascended is such a great motivator for my fitness journey and it’s entertaining! It keeps me accountable and connects me to a welcoming community with similar interests. I can’t wait to log my workouts and see what kind of storyline progress I can make. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a unique blend of fitness and fantasy.

### 5/5 — Great storyline!

*2026-07-16*

The RPG style storyline and progression through the game has been very interesting and engaging! The characters are interesting and the world building is good, and the story in general is much more developed than I would have expected. It is very motivating to get my workouts in to see the next part of the story! The character and background art also are very well-done, which is nice as well.

### 5/5 — Finally, a Fitness App for RPG Fans

*2026-07-16*

I’ve been using Ascended since the beta, and it’s honestly one of the few fitness apps I’ve stuck with. I’ve always loved fantasy RPGs, so the idea of turning real workouts into character progression, quests, and a story immediately hooked me.

What surprised me most is that it actually keeps me accountable. There have been plenty of days where I wanted to skip the gym, but I found myself thinking, “I need to finish this quest” or “I want to level up my character.” It sounds silly until you try it, but it works.

The developers have also done a great job listening to feedback and continuing to improve the app. It’s been cool watching it grow from the beta into what it is now.

If you’re into RPGs and struggle with staying consistent in the gym, I’d definitely recommend giving Ascended a try. It’s made working out feel a lot more fun, and that’s helped me stay consistent more than any other fitness app I’ve used.

### 5/5 — So fun

*2026-07-16*

This app is a fun way to add whimsy to my life while also seeking to better myself. It’s helpful to hold me accountable and motivate me for not only fitness but also my overall health.

### 5/5 — Lovvvvvvve it

*2026-07-16*

Blends my two favorite things! Annnnd holds me accountable to my workouts!

### 5/5 — Adventurous Fitness Adjunct App

*2026-07-16*

Really fun idea that is a great addition to my daily fitness routine. Very excited for the upcoming Apple Watch integration and other future updates!

### 5/5 — Fun and helpful

*2026-07-16*

I have tried so many fitness apps but this is so fun to follow the story and advance it keeps making me come back without requiring a lot of “in app” time. It keeps me motivated to keep active even on days when it would be so easy to stay home.

### 5/5 — Great motivations for the day

*2026-07-16*

Helps motivate me to work out by giving me stories to read!
