And some of the explanations for the answers are lacking real information. It’s just not worth $20. I would happily pay $5 but not much more. **Developer response:** Hi there! We appreciate your understanding and support. ### 3/5 — Needs improvement *2018-12-04, version 6.7* It works fine. The app has a couple bugs and they are still pretty noticeable. They have been removing some bugs, like the one that made in unusable unless you turn on airplane mode. Also, some taps don’t register properly, causing you to click on too many answers. But it’s fine, because it’s all just practice. The way it works is you select whatever tests that you want to study, how many questions you want to answer, whether you want the answers during or after the test, and the option to set a timer. The timer really is unnecessary but I can see how it may help some people. I like to do it like this - 10 questions, select 1 subject, show answers during the test. And if I don’t know what they are asking, I google it and study up on that particular topic. Then, it shows me my answer and tells me why it was wrong and providing more material to study. The free version probably has more value, but once you answer everything, it becomes useless. The paid version is very nice, if you don’t think about the bugs, of course. I wish they could add new questions or cycle through a larger pool of questions every so often. That way, they would feel new again. If you are studying one subject, you start to remember the answers before you even finish the question. Overall: This app does what it is supposed to do and gives you questions to think about and study. It’s great if you have little time to study, as you can do a quick 5 questions, or 20 questions before you even get out of bed in the morning. Anytime anywhere I can open my app and study. I take the tests and have the answers revealed as I go. I read the explanation and learn a lot in the process. There is at least one typo in the app and I wish it had even more questions. I put too much thought into some answers and get them wrong but the simple explanation as to why i got it wrong helps a lot. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Waste of time and money *2019-11-25, version 6.7.6* I thought I felt prepared to take my ase tests, but every single one of these questions was no where near relevant to the ase tests. I spent so much time preparing just to find out none of these questions helped at all. Basically went in the test center and burned away cash. The few questions that actually make sense seem to be based on ASE tests from 25 years ago. Iron blocks? Seriously? The wording is awkward, the terminology confusing at best. I am a technician at a dealership and was going to use this app to study for the ASE test. I purchased the official ASE study guides and after reading them and taking practice test in this app, I found many answers to the questions in this app to be wrong. So while I was waiting for the study books from ASE I was studying the wrong information from this app. This could cost anyone a lot of money because we all the the ASE test are not cheap. So I do not even recommend using the free version of this app. ### 1/5 — Buy if you want to fail your exams *2016-08-31, version 6.0.7* I purchased this app when I was first getting ready to take the exams. I thought it was a good study guide until I got a real one. I took my tests today and passed but no thanks to this "study" app. None of the information it focuses on was involved with the tests. I played with it this morning before the tests and having learned from a real study guide I noticed that some of the answers and reasons given on this app were WRONG that's right the information on this app is incorrect and if you use this for knowledge you will fail your exams. Do not waste your money. ### 1/5 — meh, kind of a waste *2015-06-18, version 5.0.1* I just took 4 of the ASE tests, and this app really was not helpful. The questions on the real ASE test were far more difficult than anything this app asks you. Some answers are not correct that they ask either. Im not saying that just from own personal wealth of knowledge, but even when they give you their correct answer it contradicts how they graded you. There is far better free stuff online. Again, none of these questions or anything similar are on the real ASE tests. At most I would say that this app may(strongly stress "may") have helped me get one more right out of 50 or 60 questions asked on each of the real ASE tests. Even the questions in the app are repeated multiple times, but just worded ever so slightly different. ridiculous. The more I think about it...just garbage for $10 ### 1/5 — Horrible not worth it. Questions aren't on real ASE test. *2015-06-10, version 5.2* This is an absolutely horrible app if you want to study for the ASE test. Not one single question the app asked me was actually on my ASE test. And for $10 this company is getting away with robbery. Do yourself a favor go on the ASE website and invest in their pretest study material. I am very disappointed and do not recommend this app at all. ### 1/5 — Needs wider variety of questions *2014-11-30, version 4.1* I purchased this app having taken a couple ASE tests already, all the questions are Technician A and Technician B questions! No illustration questions! No schematics! It does have a great interface very easy to use but they seriously need to revamp the questions that are put on there. I want my money back. $10? Really? The app itself it's good but the answers are wrong! Sometimes the answer of the question is YES and after that the same question answer is NO. Not to mention that the questions repeats many times and actually you are not practicing with 80 questions but just 60 or so. Sometimes two correct answers. This app doesn't help - it confuses. Very disappointed!!! Want my money back!!! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Very easy and convenient *2018-06-26, version 6.5.4* I think this app is so useful and great for refreshing your memory. The creators are great as well and have helped me to understand questions better. I got a question wrong, I thought I was right (like many other people). So I contacted them through the app. They responded within the hour and explained to me how I got it wrong and why the right answer was the right answer. Found out I was taking key words the wrong way and after they explained I admit they were right. So I would say 5 stars. Hope they add a simple explanation as to why other answers are wrong as I think it would further teach people and make them rethink there answer.
