I think the app is great. The stories it writes are nice. A little glitchy got regenerated responses but overall very good and quality stories made from prompts. The only thing I’d want added is voices. I would love for the stories to be voiced if possible. Preferable with a voice generator instead of just a selection of generic robotic voices.  But that’s just a suggestion. 

The only nitpick is how much power it uses. Whenever I use it on my iPhone 17 Pro, the phone heats up very quickly and it makes the entire phone lag really bad. Similar to the lag from Low Battery Mode but it actually will close and crash other apps at times. Games specifically will force close if I open this app and go back.

Voice narration is actually something we're looking into right now, and a real generated voice instead of the usual robotic TTS options is exactly what we'd want too. Can't promise a timeline yet but it's on our radar.

On the heat and lag: the app runs the AI model directly on your phone instead of sending it to a server, which is what lets it work offline and keeps your prompts private. That's also why it can get pretty intensive on the processor, especially with longer stories. We're working on optimizing it, but some of that load is just the cost of doing it on-device rather than in the cloud.

Also, if you ever run into small issues like that regeneration glitch, don't hesitate to use the "Contact Us" button in the app and send us some details, screenshots if you have them help a lot too. Since we don't track any usage data, that's really the only way we find out about these things, so it makes a real difference.

### 5/5 — Yearly Unlimited Plan Worth It

I've been using the Ashentale iOS app daily, and after spending enough time with the free version, l upgraded to the yearly Unlimited plan. For the way I use the app, Unlimited completely transforms the experience.
Ashentale is one of the few mobile story-creation apps that's actually powerful enough to build long, connected stories across different universes. The biggest strength is that everything runs directly on my device - no cloud processing, no censorship, and no filters blocking what I want to write. Because of that, it feels more like a personal Al storyteller than a typical mobile app. I mix characters from Diablo, GTA, anime, and whatever else I'm in the mood for, and the Al keeps the story consistent even when I switch settings or genres. The Unlimited plan is what makes this possible.
Before upgrading, I would hit usage caps at the worst times, usually right when a story was getting good.
With Unlimited, I can write as long as I want without worrying about interruptions. For $17.99 a year, it's cheaper than most mobile RPGs, and I get far more creative freedom out of it.
Ashentale does use a lot of power, and I've learned to be careful with it before work.
Since the app is doing real on-device processing, the battery drain makes sense.
As long as I'm mindful of when I use it, the performance is worth it. Overall, the yearly Unlimited plan is the best choice if you use Ashentale heavily. It unlocks the app's full potential, removes all limits, and lets you build long, detailed stories without interruptions. If you enjoy cross-universe storytelling, character interactions, or having an Al that doesn't censor your creativity, Ashentale is one of the strongest options on ios - and the Unlimited plan is absolutely worth it.
