### 3/5 — Pas mal !

*2026-06-07*

### 3/5 — If it ain’t broke…..

*2026-03-29*

Constantly introducing bugs whenever updates are released, ZWO classic philosophy is to lock you in to their own products which is obvious with the ASIair, however- above anything else users have requested time and time again for a custom park position being added -,which they have indeed introduced- but only to their own line of mounts! When constantly asked to introduce it to other mounts such as Skywatcher their answer is evident only by their silence. Tip: if you do get your equipment working - disable automatic updates , you have been warned!

### 3/5 — Bring back progress bar

*2026-01-13, version 2.5*

Please bring back the autorun visual progress bar on the main screen. It is much easier to see at a distance and when half asleep.

### 4/5 — Une version française ?

*2026-01-06*

### 4/5 — Buggy

*2025-09-24, version 2.4.2*

Version 2.3.3 was the last stable release. In this one auto guiding starts but fails after a few seconds, and guiding does not recover after a meridian flip.

*2025-09-14, version 2.4.2*

### 4/5 — Great App, sometimes

*2025-09-02*

This app can make astrophotography a very pleasant experience. I do a Starsense Auto-align, a quick polar align in Asiair, find my target in the app’s planetarium, start guiding, start imaging, and go to sleep. I wake up to my scope in a safe position, with lots of good data, every single time. No expensive equipment rammed into my CGX, no torn or unplugged wires, no incorrect slew positions. Just perfectly clear 300s exposures of whatever I fancy that night.

I do have some requests though. While you can focus a separate guide scope in the guiding interface, please add a real focus utility for the guide cam. Also, and this one is important, please implement notifications for issues. It’s nuts that there aren’t any, and even though the Asiair is great, it’s almost a reason to go back to Nina. This hasn’t happened, but it would be areal letdown if something does get disconnected, or auto-focus fails, etc., and we don’t even know.

### 2/5 — Updates are full of bugs

*2025-08-06*

Every app update comes with headaches and precious time wasted!
It’s unbelievable how every new version seems to multiply the number of bugs.
Clear nights are rare, and losing time because your ASIAIR fails is unacceptable.
I don’t know if the lack of competition has created a comfort zone, but it’s time for ZWO to take this seriously.
Many of us have already started looking into other ways to control our gear, and I have no doubt that competitors will soon take advantage of the dissatisfaction to release something better.

### 3/5 — Good product bad app

*2025-08-02, version 2.4.1*

This app needs an update on the UI.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Now installation not work on MACOS

*2026-08-21*

Impossible to install on my Mac mini M4.

### 1/5 — Disappointment ASI 2600 PRO USER

*2026-03-20, version 2.5.1*

I’m am so disappointed in ZWO. The are building this wonderful equipment, but they can get the software right. The SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE the polar alignment hasn’t worked for over a year. But the seestar seems to be able to work. Now the latest issue, with the updated software is WiFi is un-functional. Can’t even down load 1 photo for review. $2500 of scrap camera at the moment.
Hope they sort thing out shortly.

### 1/5 — Full of bugs

*2025-12-31, version 2.5*

Promise of the ASIair is effortless astrophotography. Reality is far from it. Each new version contains worse and worse bugs for users and any serious logs or information that could help debug is walled off from the user. ZWO needs a step change in their software quality for ASIair to live up to its promises

### 1/5 — Updates cause too many problems

*2025-12-06, version 2.4.4*

I quit allowing my app to update since the first time the update broke the application for weeks until zwo fixed the problems they introduced. Seems like they do very little testing of updates prior to release and they offer no way to revert to a working version. Imaging time is too precious to waste on a buggy software update that renders your setup useless!

### 1/5 — Issue with latest update

*2025-09-11, version 2.4.2*

After the firmware update the app on 2 different platforms (Mac laptop and IPad), if I go to Plan and then click the hamburger icon to go to the plan list, the app crashes on both platforms. Tried this with 2 different ASI2609MC AIR on 2 different scopes with power only on the camera, so not the equipment must be the update as it worked last night (9/10)

### 1/5 — Crash

*2025-09-11, version 2.4.2*

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2025-09-07, version 2.4.2*

Cannot slew on the AZ axis. Wasting money and time

### 1/5 — Destroyed amazing system current ver is major defective can’t go back and block update no polar ali

*2025-07-13, version 2.4.1*

No polar align using asi462 doesn’t process image but sharp cap does so no camera must be software

### 1/5 — Update not functional

*2025-07-12, version 2.4.1*

With This last update I cannot connect to my home wifi.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — MacBook Pro

*2026-07-29*

Although it is an iPad application, I use it on a MacBook Pro M4. It runs perfectly with no issues so far. Seamless switch between inside use (MacBook) and outside use at the telescope (iPhone).“

### 5/5 — Fantastic product that continues to set the standard

*2026-04-20, version 2.5.2*

I have been using the same pro-product for a number of years now, it is well thought out and continues to receive updates.

My one ask for improvement request is on the star-chart. Please consider having astronomical symbols for objects visible when zoomed out - maybe different colours. I found it a little difficult to scan the sky without conducting a text search.

Cheers

### 5/5 — ZWO have serious issues

*2026-03-21*

2.5.1 is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
New equipment bricked by the firmware on first use, even my local retailer got the same thing It freezes and locks up the only fix is a reboot, WiFi drop outs, guide camera failure, mount, EFW etc etc. their response put a bug report in.
Sorry but no as new equipment out of the box should work.

### 5/5 — Very Convenient

*2025-11-23, version 2.4.4*

I use it for remote astrophotography.
When the system time and local time differ, the Plan mode sometimes shows a message saying that the target object has not risen yet when attempting automatic shooting. It would be helpful if a time zone setting could be added.
Also, I hope future updates will add sound notifications from the app—for example, when Autorun or Plan shooting is completed, or when guiding becomes unstable—so that I can notice these events right away.

### 5/5 — Easy to use powerful and well supported

*2025-10-30*

I have been using this app and device for several years, now. I got this soon as version 1.0. came out about 5 years ago. Still works great. It is far and away the easiest way to take long exposure photos of the night sky, from stars and galaxies to distant nebula with a variety of telescope setups. I used to use a laptop to run the telescope, camera and mount, which required a lot of battery power and software was complex and error prone. With this tiny device which easily runs on a small portable battery all night, is a tiny box that fits on scope and simplifies everything. At first it was a bit limited, but still was fully functional. Only limitation which is also its strength is that is is designed to support users that use zwo brand astronomical cameras and focusers. This means that rather than trying to partially support a wide range of cameras it supports these cameras really well - super easy to use. You can focus, align the mount for polar alignment, switch filters, precisely aims telescope at any of the well known astronomical objects (and you can define your own custom objects)and have it automatically take a series of photos on it all night, including even flipping the mount when it switches from eastern to western hemispheres of the sky, then turning off device and returning scope to home position when it is done. I am particularly impressed with the support provided. They maintain a facebook page and respond to questions or comments very quickly. They also welcome comments for new features or options. Now it features autofocus, a video mode for photos of planets, and continues to perfect guiding, and other features. Highly recommend for people wanting to take night sky photos in a simple straightforward and highly automated way. You no longer have to stay up all night to take great photos of these distant objects.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much Paul for you deep review. We will keep updating.

### 5/5 — Einfach genial

*2025-10-18*

So macht Astrofotografie Spaß.

### 5/5 — Ottimo lavoro ZWO

*2025-09-15, version 2.4.2*

L’applicazione negli anni è molto migliorata.

### 5/5 — 3I/atlas problem

*2025-08-18, version 2.4.1*

Somehow it shows 3I/atlas in wrong direction

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-08-15*

Been using this for many years now. Works great ! Several different scopes and targets from DSO to planetary. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — This app is so good

*2025-06-23*

The app is very polished, works perfectly, there are so many features, it’s absolutely amazing I love it.
