The app reads out the English commands with a...German pronounciation (eg. “vat iz this” and “number funf”) which of course the English-speaking Alexa doesn’t understand. Wrote to Support and they admitted there was nothing they could do. The conclusion: deleted the app and warn potential English speaking buyers not to touch it lest they go through the same stressful situation. Hence the single star of the review. PS. Didn’t even bother to claim a refund of the £0.99 the ads removal cost ### 1/5 — App is faulty and needs to be taken off the App Store ASAP *2020-01-20, version 5.4* After installing app, I clicked on configure Alexa. The app changed my market from South Africa to UNited Kingdom. My account was still in South Africa with a balance of ZAR35.01 when it was changed. What I had to endure: 1. I was in a different region (UK) with a South African account. I couldn’t purchase anything 2. I couldn’t switch back to South African region 3. I couldn’t play any songs from my iTunes 4. Afters staying on the phone for about an hour - apples switches my region back to South Africa at a cost of loosing all my playlists and songs on iTunes Bottom line: Apple isn’t taking any responsibility of having an app that is going against Some of their long terms and agreement they publish. This is embarrassing for Apple to let such bugs into their market and also in professional for app to be released into the market without thorough regression testing than in them. ### 1/5 — Why not available in Indonesia? *2019-12-15, version 5.3* why is it not available in Indonesia ??? I love that I can put my own phrases of philosophy in the app. I have to admit not exploring all of it. I’m a bit confused as I’m an Amazon prime member & this hasn’t connected & I have paid £9 odd for something I’m unsure what it is. So have to wait for my son to help me. It’s mostly pictures with Titles e.g. Books or Music. I will suss it in the end. It does pick up my phone when I play You Tube through Alxas speaker. Unable to find how to set time. Setting up is so quick. I followed the stages & as soon as I plugged in Amazon Alexa the blue ring began to go round & it talks to you about what to do. I’m not techno & don’t feel anyone needs to be. Parental controls. All types of subjects. Definitely going to buy a WiFi dimmer bulb. Great to ask Alexa turn on light if hands are full also dim it all with my voice.
