## What is Ask Mahaguru?

Ask Mahaguru answers your questions using only Mahaguru's recorded teachings, not the open internet.

Ask how to sit with a hard week, why the mind does what it does, or where any of this comes from. Every answer is generated by AI, grounded in the teachings, and cites the talks it draws on so you can listen for yourself.

• Answers drawn only from Mahaguru's teachings, each linked to its source talks
• Choose the depth of each answer: Everyday, Guided, or In depth
• Ask by voice, and have answers read aloud
• Read the app in English or Sinhala
• Your conversations are private and can be deleted at any time

Ask Mahaguru is free to download, and new accounts start with a set number of questions to spend. They do not renew. More questions are available in the app as a monthly subscription, which renews until you cancel it. Some answer depths are part of a subscription.

Answers here are generated by AI from Mahaguru's recorded teachings. This is not a person, and not Mahaguru. It can be wrong or incomplete.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7 — 2026-10-30

What's new in 1.7.0

- Delete a conversation. Open your history and tap the bin beside any conversation, or delete them all from Account.
- Talks on YouTube now show where they open, for example "Talk on YouTube, from 8:55".
- Voice chat fixes. The "Composing your answer" note clears when a spoken answer finishes, and Sinhala questions show in Sinhala script on screen.

### 1.6 — 2026-10-28

What's new in 1.6.0

- Voice chat in your conversation. Tap Voice chat and talk without leaving the screen. Your spoken questions and the answers appear in the conversation as you go.
- Tap the orb to stop. One tap stops a spoken answer, or switches off the microphone while you think.
- Simple controls. Mute the microphone, or tap the keyboard to go back to typing.

### 1.5 — 2026-10-27

What's new in 1.5.0

- Ask on Apple Watch. Tap, ask by voice, and hear the answer, even with your wrist down.
- Ask in CarPlay. Talk with Ask Mahaguru by voice while you drive.
- A new look for voice chat. A living orb shows when it is listening, thinking and speaking.
- Smoother answers. Spoken answers no longer cut off at the first word.
- A clearer consent screen. Continue stays greyed out until the required choices are on.

### 1.4 — 2026-10-21

Dark mode: the app now follows your phone's light or dark setting, or you can choose in Account.

A calmer look: softer question bubbles, a simpler question box, gentle transitions, and search in your past questions.

### 1.3 — 2026-10-13

Made for bigger screens. On a wide screen, such as an iPad held sideways, your past questions now sit in a panel beside the conversation, so you can move between them without opening a menu.

With a keyboard attached, Return sends your question and Shift+Return starts a new line. Command+N starts a new question.

This release also includes fixes and small improvements.
