## What is Ask Your Village?

Ask Your Village helps the people in your village show up for one another. A village is whatever you need it to be: a neighborhood, a book club, a parent committee, a family, any group of people, near or far, who want to stay connected and help each other. No ads. No noisy algorithms.

When you're part of a village, you can:
- Ask for help, a favor, a loaned tool, or advice, and offer a hand on others' asks.
- Give away, lend, or sell things on the Trading Post.
- RSVP to events and sign up for parent-teacher conferences, meal trains, potlucks, and volunteer slots.
- Follow fundraisers and chip in (contributions are handled securely in your browser).
- Message your villages and the people in them, with photos, reactions, and replies.
- Get notified when your village needs you.

Great for schools and PTAs: conference scheduling, supply drives, and classroom volunteers.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.6 — 2026-09-28

Faster first launch: new installs start on the latest version. Plus fixes.

### 1.2.5 — 2026-09-26

Ask a question
Alongside Ask for help there is now Ask a question: get open answers, let villagers suggest options and second them, or run a quick poll. Filter your feed by Help or Questions.

Find and invite people
Search by name, email, or phone number and send an invitation. Nobody is added to a village without saying yes: invitations wait on the Villages tab until they are accepted or declined.

Invite by text
Typing a number that is not on Ask Your Village yet gives you a message to send from your own phone. If that person adds the number to their account later, the invitation is waiting for them.

Contact phone (optional)
Add a phone number in Settings, confirm it with a code, and choose whether friends can find you by it. It is never shown to anyone.

Villages without a location
For clubs, alumni groups, and communities whose members live everywhere.

Also in this update: Copy link for village invite links, a tidier village list without distances, and fixes throughout.

Welcome to the village. This is a soft launch and we ship updated versions frequently. Questions or ideas: hello@askyourvillage.com.

- Lots of polish and fixes
