It’s important to see the position of both the hand(s) and positions of the fingers ### 3/5 — Low Quality *2021-08-28* There’s a lot of ads (1 ad after 2-3 videos) and the videos are of low quality and the change of clothes and lack of facial expressions impacts the ability to pick up. The process of having to go through multiple menus and then individually pick each thing to learn, instead of being able to show each one after each automatically is a bit frustrating. ### 2/5 — Sloppy signing? But decent dictionary *2021-08-19, version 1.10* I'm hearing and I use this app for dictionary/practice but I am concerned after paying for the app and viewing the videos that many of the signs are missing correct facial expressions (for example "Are you alright?" as a yes/no question should have raised eyebrows, however the video for this expression did not show any eyebrow movement or other non manual markers) however as I am not Deaf or a skilled signer I can't be sure, but some other reviews seem to agree with me. If you are just starting ASL I cannot recommend this app because it might teach you bad habits. Also many of the videos cut off at the beginning or end of the sign, so I feel it would be beneficial to re record most if not all of the sign videos. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Incorrect signs *2023-01-11, version 1.10* I wanted to like this app. I took several years of Asl and am desperately trying to find an app that just lets me drill random words to build/maintain my vocabulary. I don’t mind paying at all either, essentially every good language learning app in existence has a paywall. My issue is that a number of the signs are just plain wrong??? ### 1/5 — Why the money! *2022-10-08, version 1.10* Why can’t it all be free!😭 ### 1/5 — Where are October and November? *2022-10-02, version 1.10* They are missing from the list of months and seasons. And I don’t think I saw Spring or Fall/Autumn either. And none of the option answers to the ‘Test Your Knowledge’ in that section responds when I select it. I really want to like & use this app! It brought me to a screen to upgrade for all categories. I paid $ for the upgrade and again typed in the search “different”. Now it wants me to pay for another upgrade and is not showing me the sign for different, after paying for the category. I was looking for an app that would help my students learn vocabulary, this is not it. I like the structure of it, but the signing is wrong, plain and simple. Do not recommend. And I hate that I had to pay for it in order to see the videos. ### 1/5 — Scam!! Took my money, no premium unlock *2021-01-31, version 1.10* I paid to unlock everything in the app and it did not process the premium unlock. As soon as I paid through the Apple store, the app said there was a server error and now it won’t recognize that I paid full price to unlock everything. In fact, the app has a feature to restore purchases but it’s saying there’s nothing to restore. So it’s straight up took my money. I emailed the developer 1 week ago and have not gotten a response. I also noticed that the app said it was a lifetime unlock for a small price... it’s not. It’s 79.99 for a year or 7.99 monthly. I checked my apple subscription.
