## What is aSpot?

Stop circling. Start parking.

Finding street parking shouldn't cost you twenty minutes and a ticket. aSpot shows you which blocks have open spots right now, based on reports from drivers around you — and tells you exactly how long you can stay once you get there.

SEE WHICH BLOCKS ARE WORTH TRYING

The map shows live availability block by block, built from reports by real drivers nearby. Green means someone just found something. Red means it's taken. Yellow means something's in the way — a hydrant, a double-parked truck, construction. Check before you leave the house instead of discovering it the hard way.

DECODE ANY PARKING SIGN

Tap any block and aSpot reads the posted restrictions and tells you in plain English how long you can actually park there. No more standing in the street squinting at four signs on one pole trying to work out which one applies today.

NEVER MISS A DEADLINE

Set a parking session and aSpot reminds you before your time runs out — at 30 minutes, 10 minutes, and 2 minutes. It also warns you before street cleaning and sign restrictions kick in on your block.

GET ALERTED WHEN SPOTS OPEN

When a driver near you pulls out, they tap "I'm leaving" and you get a ping with the street and distance. You'll know before the people who aren't looking.

HELP EACH OTHER OUT

Report a spot as open or taken in one tap. Flag a hydrant, a construction zone, a double-parked truck. No account needed — if you're using the map, you can add to it. Every report makes the map better for the next driver, and the more people on your block using it, the better it works for all of you.

WHERE IT WORKS

aSpot works anywhere drivers use it — the map is built from real reports, so it comes alive wherever people are reporting. Parking sign data, meters, and hydrants are fully integrated in New York City, Jersey City, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia, with more cities being added.

aSPOT PLUS

aSpot is free to use. Plus removes the limits: unlimited saved places (free gives you 2), unlimited planned parkings (free gives you 1), full parking history (free shows your 10 most recent), and more Smart Parking results — 3 per search instead of 1. Plus also unlocks SpotIQ, Curb Intelligence, and the heat map.

Plus is $2.99 per month or $17.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-06

RICHER DETAIL IN SAN FRANCISCO
Meter rates and schedules, street cleaning, and posted curb
rules, straight from SFMTA's published data.

CLEARER PARKING CARDS
Rates, time limits and operating hours are easier to read,
laid out the same way everywhere.

We keep deepening local parking detail city by city — New
York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, Baltimore
and San Francisco so far, with more in progress.

Always check posted signs — aSpot shows information, not
legal permission to park.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-01

aSpot now works beyond New York.

FIVE NEW CITIES
Parking information is now available in Los Angeles,
Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, and Baltimore — meters,
street cleaning schedules, permit zones, and posted
restrictions, drawn from each city's own published data.

REMINDERS IN EVERY CITY
Check the sign on your block, then set a reminder to move
your car. Pick the restriction type, your move-by time,
and how far ahead you want the alert. Times are shown in
the city you parked in, not the one your phone thinks
you're in.

MORE HYDRANTS ON THE MAP
Expanded hydrant coverage in Los Angeles and Baltimore.

MORE ACCURATE NEW YORK SIGNS
Fixed a bug that could match your block against the wrong
stretch of street, and another that could place signs
outside the city entirely. Sign rules for your block
should now be meaningfully more reliable.

BETTER REMINDERS
Fixed a late-night alert that could fire for a restriction
with no start time, and could hide the restriction that
actually mattered.

ALSO IN THIS UPDATE
- Alternate route choices when driving to your spot
- Clearer Live Activity text on the Lock Screen
- Parking history now shows days, not just hours
- Improved city detection and fewer stale results when
browsing the map away from where you are

Coverage varies by city. Always check posted signs —
aSpot shows information, not legal permission to park.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-25

Spots that fit your vehicle.

aSpot now knows the size of the vehicle that left each spot, so it can tell you whether one is a comfortable fit, roomier than you need, or might be tight. Tap "Fits my car" and the map hides the ones we know are too small. Driving without an account? Just tell us what you drive — no sign-up needed.

See the block before you get there.

Look Around street view is now on your parked car, so you can check the curb you left it on without walking back.

Clearer warnings about when to move.

Move-by alerts now match how much time you actually have. A restriction hours away stays calm and green. One in the next fifteen minutes doesn't. The parked card now shows whichever rule affects you soonest instead of the scariest one on the block.

Alerts when a spot opens near you.

When another driver pulls out nearby, you get a notification — even with aSpot closed. Tap it to jump straight to the block.

Fixes

- Fixed spots you released still showing as taken to other drivers
- Fixed a crash when opening Parking History
- Parking History no longer scrolls on its own
- Far fewer sign-up interruptions while browsing as a guest
- Fixed alerts appearing on top of screens you already had open
- When more spots are nearby than the free map shows, you'll now see how many

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-25

Thanks to everyone reporting spots out there. This one's mostly fixes that came out of real driving.

Driving to a spot

Your marker now points the way you're actually travelling. It used to drift toward wherever your phone happened to be lying, then swing back when you picked up speed — worst in stop-and-go traffic, which is most of it.
The marker and the map no longer disagree with each other when you slow down.
Noticeably lighter on battery and data while you drive.

Guests can help out now

Release your spot when you pull out — no account needed.
Report a hazard — double-parked truck, hydrant, construction, street fair — no account needed.

The map is only worth opening if the people using it can add to it, so we stopped asking you to sign up before you could help the driver behind you.

Your parked car

The parked-car banner now tucks away into a small pill and comes back with a tap, so it stays clear of the block outlook.
"Move by" times are much easier to read, and the full deadline — the time and the countdown — now shows in Currently Parked.

Also fixed

Spots you mark as occupied, or flag as a hazard, stay on the map now instead of disappearing the moment you tap.
Reporting a hazard is easier: a taller card that brings the list of reasons into view instead of hiding it below the fold.
The vehicle button no longer shows a blank icon before you've added a car.
