## What is ASR Studio?

ASR Studio is an audio toolkit designed to complement the Audio Shoulder Rest (ASR) — a smart, audio-enabled shoulder rest for string instruments, created by Matter Squared.

Used by professionals, amateurs, educators and students alike, ASR Studio helps transform practice sessions into interactive learning experiences. Whether you're tuning up, syncing bow strokes to the metronome, or practicing intonation, the app empowers string players to listen more deeply and practice with purpose.

While designed for integration with the ASR hardware, the app also works independently.

### 1.22 — 2026-05-06

This update brings several major improvements.

Presets Panel: Save and recall UI values across the app with the new presets panel.

Metronome: Now includes tap-tempo and expanded beat options (formerly "bar length").

Drone: Fully redesigned with a much wider range of parameters. A second drone has been added for practicing transitions, synchronized to the metronome.

Just Tuning: A just intonation option is now available alongside equal temperament.

A new intonation trainer has been added to this version.

– Concert A can now be set anywhere from A430 to A450, affecting all tuning throughout the app, including the resonators and metronome.

– The metronome includes a new control for adjusting the intensity of offbeat pulses.
