### 5/5 — One of my favorite apps

*2026-03-16*

This, Breakup, and Rockd are my go to figit apps on my phone amazing visualization of generations of work

### 1/5 — Not for my iPhone

*2024-03-21*

This doesn't work on my iPhone at all. I try to scroll the timeline at the bottom, but it slides back to the beginning when I get to the edge of the screen and nothing moves.

### 5/5 — Un outil indispensable

*2022-07-07*

### 5/5 — Great summary of plate movements and topography

*2020-05-24*

I am a geologist and study the history of earth. This app has incorporated data from thousands of sources. The maps shown here are the gold standard in the geologist community. Being able to view them in the public domain has made my job easier.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2013-01-12*

I love the free Ancient Earth app. I am sad you have to buy two apps to go farther back in time. I am happy to pay for this app, but it should include the whole timeline available.

I expect eventually the resolution of the images could improve, but even now it is super educational.

### 1/5 — Ancient Earth

*2012-11-23*

SAVE YOUR MONEY! What a disappointment! I was really expecting a time-progressed movement of the continents, not holding a finger and sliding across a timeline. If you lift your finger, it goes back to the start. Could have been a great app, but instead, mediocre at best.

### 4/5 — I'm sure it's educational, but it's also so much fun!

*2012-10-26*

The price maybe a bit steep for some people, but I've always wanted one of these things, and now there are two of them. The graphics are a little chunky, and the globe might not handle like you're used to seeing a globe handle in, for example, the maps app, but if you're a bit of a geology buff, you'll play with this thing for days! Thanks for making this!

### 2/5 — Could have been great...

*2012-10-16*

I was disappointed that you have to buy TWO $10 apps to get all of earth's geologic history. The control bar at the bottom of the screen is weird, wonky, and not easy to use. The globe movement is not smooth and I wish the globe stayed oriented north, or at least had the option to lock the north-south orientation. Also, there's no supporting information, which would have been easy to include. Not worth it, in short.

### 4/5 — A useful tool for those who study tectonics!

*2012-10-09*

This app is a useful tool for those studying Paleozoic tectonics, and provides a good interface for exploring the globe during the different time periods. It could use some basic improvements:
- labels for anything, such as the modern geolitical boundaries that are always overlayed, and/or cratons, orogens, paleo-oceans
- more time steps for modeled paleogeography
- smoother animation for moving around the globe while simultaneously showing time pass
