Positives: It’s fairly easy to set up; The scanning is pretty smooth; Lots of customization and tailoring to your needs; CSV, Excel, and PDF exports; Reports Negatives: Glitchy at times. Tried to search for a person/employee and nothing happened. Closed out app, tried again, nothing; the app sometimes gets in a hung state and is unable to do anything until you close the app and even that that doesn’t always work; the FREAKING LOGIN PROBLEM IS THE WORST. Sorry, this is possibly the worst design of this app. If you login via Google, you will login seemingly all. The. Time. Closed the app for more than 5 minutes? Login. Closed the app? Login. Sneezed too hard??? Login. Oh, and every login is paired with a Captcha challenge. Hey, AssetTiger, use passkeys! That’s what they’re designed for! Oh, want to send an email to someone? Captcha. So EVERY time someone checks a device out and you want to email them a record, complete ANOTHER captcha. Honestly, if there were another option besides AssetTiger at this price level, I’d switch in a HEARTBEAT. I’m even still considering just going back to managing it manually via spreadsheet. At least then I wouldn’t have to login to my spreadsheet every 5 minutes. ### 3/5 — Just okay *2024-02-20, version 2.1* It does what it says on the tin, but this app is so needlessly difficult to use. I am almost always without my laptop while performing inventory audits so I pretty much have to use the mobile app. The problem is that it signs me out. Every. Single. Time. I lock my phone. You know, as any sane, rational person might do when moving from classroom to classroom between scans. Devs, PLEASE fix this. It just makes this app a massive pain to use. ### 3/5 — Scanning is a little rough *2022-07-22, version 2.0* Love the quality of my asset tag, love the features of the app and database, but scanning is tough. Really need the ability to be able to zoom in by picking the different camera options on the iPhone. As it is, your hand and phone end up creating shadows when try to get close for a scan. Half the time typing the number is faster but that’s not ideal. Otherwise it works well and the app is the easiest way to add photos of inventory items. So it’s great to have, just fix the scanning. ### 3/5 — Website is great. App not so much *2022-06-01, version 2.0* That app works well enough but it keeps signing me out every time I close the app. Very frustrating. ### 2/5 — New Updated ruined check in and check out *2022-04-05, version 2.0* I have no idea who thought this was a good idea but the new update has ruined my check in process. I can no longer use my external scanner to scan in all items. I now have to come back after each scan to tap “add”. They are retroactively invoicing customers without warning. The camera starts up but there is no red scan line or any highlighted scan area as there is on an Android phone. No matter how long I hold an asset tag in front of the camera, it just won’t complete the scan. This renders the app useless. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — New ‘billing’ left our nonprofit dead in the water *2025-07-16, version 2.2* New billing subscription strategy that became effective July 1, 2025 shut our entire account down--with little to no warning--leaving us with no functionality to use the system, even though we had tons of credits in our account balance saying otherwise. Reached out to rectify and was placed on hold for almost an hour and was forced to leave an email message. Haven't heard back. Worst experience for a loyal, legacy nonprofit customer that has been with them since 2018. Extremely disappointed. There should have been a grandfathering-in process for active customers and not this shutting down of the account and essentially holding us hostage until we pay you more. TERRIBLE, terrible strategy and money grabbing methods. Will likely leave and NOT pay a company that I we have lost faith in their integrity; plenty of competitors out there that work conduct themselves at a higher standard. ### 1/5 — New Captcha system makes things 1000% more difficult *2023-04-28, version 2.0* I think it’s great that I have to help Google identify bikes, busses, and fire hydrants every time I want to check an asset out to an employee. I love clicking tiny squares that take forever to load and then have to repeat the process because there were 2 pixels of Stop Light that I couldn’t identify. One time I had to do the Captcha 4 times in a row! Thanks Asset Tiger! It’s extremely fast updating across platforms once a change is made, super in-depth customizations allows me to get a notification or email anytime someone checks out or checks in equipment. I can send daily or weekly reports to know what equipment is at which job-site and know who checked out what tools and what vehicle they’re in. I’m beyond impressed. AND it’s 100% FREE for the first 250 assets. Once you go above that it’s $120 a year for 500 assets. That is super affordable. After putting asset tags on everything, all it takes for an employee to check in/check out equipment is for them to open the app and scan the barcode on the tag, then they can check out the equipment to their vehicle or a job site, or check it back into inventory. Before I was using a spreadsheet and it took so much time track everything and update the sheet, but now it’s extremely fast and I can send an email to an employee to remind them to turn in tools or equipment. This has saved me so much time and made my life so much simpler. I setup my asset management system on the pc then use the app as my barcode scanner for the warehouse. Would work great for an iPad to track assets in the warehouse. App has a very simple view for all assets and doesn’t provide the feature for reports but for a free service up to 250 assets, this software fits my needs perfectly. I first signed up online, the logged in via the app. The price & features available through this service is simply amazing. Our company was paying $1000s for a subpar asset management program.. The ability to add assets when in the field is perfect for what I do. However, for some reason I can. I longer add pictures from my gallery, only from the camera taking live pictures. What happened. I didn't even know we would get access to this service with our tag purchase. It has made our life of managing our assets much more manageable. Very quick replies to emails, including when I emailed support noting that the scanner stopped working in iOS 10. Team responded and quickly fixed the problem. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2016-08-20, version 1.2* The app works great. I'm able to edit existing items and add new items using bar code scan feature. It has some trouble with certain bar codes but overall works great. The online software has everything I need except one thing... Dashboard or reports on asset availability based categories. For example, I want to know how many laptops are in inventory or checked out. I know you can do a dump into excel and do a pivot table but would be nice to see on dashboard or simple report. Overall, the app has all the features I need. The UI is nice and the online and mobile app is free! ### 5/5 — IT *2016-08-17, version 1.2* Really great product so far. There is one feature I think should be added though. If we can somehow scan the barcode into the serial number or Asset code field for an asset already in the system, that would be great. Because sometimes you have typed out everything on the computer, and you just need to go to that asset with your phone and scan in the barcode. Still 5 stars though...
