## What is Astarte?

Note: This software is a remote tool for controlling a DAW. It does not record on its own.

Astarte is a simple DAW control surface app. It brings some transport and utility functions to a device you already have in your pocket. Perfect for home and project studios, or any studio using a computer-controlled recording environment.

With just a little setup on your host system, you'll be able to use Astarte anywhere you can share a WIFI connection with your DAW. For this feature to work you may have to allow Astarte permission to access devices on your local network.

†Astarte is known to work out of the box with the following DAWs (with some configuration):
* UAD Luna
* Apple Logic Pro
* Harrison Mixbus9
* Ardour8
* Steinberg Cubase
* Ableton Live
* Reason

Not functioning and not supported at this time:
* Apple Garage Band
* Avid Pro Tools (uses an older protocol called HUI. Support may be added in the future)

Note: Astarte was developed with the phone form factor in mind. While the app supports tablets, it is not currently optimized for the larger screen size.
