### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-13, version 1.1.83*

Very organized, educational and easy to learn from

### 5/5 — Terrain ID

*2026-06-10, version 1.1.83*

Was the terrain ID taken off of the actual exam?

### 5/5 — Great tool.

*2026-06-09, version 1.1.83*

Took the test cold and scored abysmally. Wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to get over this hump or if the dream was gonna die before OCS even started. Had two incredibly helpful coaching sessions with Lou that were more than worth the investment. Alex is very helpful and responsive with the app and after two months was able to get the score I need for my program. Can’t say thank you enough to these guys.

### 5/5 — ESSENTIAL

*2026-06-06, version 1.1.83*

This is needed to help boost confidence for test day!

### 5/5 — Great app, couple of Typos but not hard to decipher.

*2026-05-25, version 1.1.83*

I love this app, I’ve been practicing for about a month and I got to say there was A LOT of math that I have been rusty on. This app helped me out in re-learning things but there are some typos but hey this whole app was literally made by like one gentleman so who cares. Overall I highly recommend this app if you’re taking the ASTB/OAR!!!

### 5/5 — Couldn’t recommend it Enough

*2026-05-18, version 1.1.22*

Definitely would not feel nearly as prepared going into the test as I do thanks to this app. 100% worth the money

### 5/5 — Great Resource

*2026-05-13, version 1.1.22*

Scored an 8/8/8 only using this app as a study resource. Especially useful in regard to studying for the Performance Based Measures. Simulations on the actual exam are nearly identical to the ones on this app. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is taking the ASTB.

### 5/5 — Best app to prepare

*2026-05-13, version 1.1.83*

I wanted to thank you for creating this app and making it as realistic as possible. While it does need improvement in some categories overall I’d say it is 92% accurate.

This is the go to app to study and prepare for the real version. Because of this app and a couple other online sources (not as relevant) I went from a 41/5/8/6 to a 54/7/8/8 and am now waiting to get picked up for pilot come June.

Only thing I can highly recommend is FOCUS on emergency procedures and responding correctly to each ear instead of following the stick and throttle accurately. If you need to pause/not pay attention on the stick and throttle so you can input the correct emergency procedures than do so. As I noticed that was mostly how the stick and throttle was graded. (WRITE OUT THE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES ON PAPER) do not try to memorize them!!!!

Also do well on the OAR portion to score well in the AQR portion, as the AQR is the combination of math, mechanical, and reading.

Like is said, the creator of this app did an amazing job at replicating the real thing. This app was worth every dollar plus some. And the best thing is he has an option for app users to recommend changes to him as the test get updated every now and then.

If your serious about what you want to do than buy this app. You won’t regret it. And try to find additional sources online. But don’t focus on too many different types.

Thank you again. 🫡🙏

### 5/5 — astb prep

*2026-03-31, version 1.1.82*

awesome app, great for the terrain practice! i take my astb portion in about a week so excited to see how the practice will turn out

### 4/5 — Major improvements

*2026-03-07, version 1.1.81*

First bought back in 2025. There have been many major improvements and implementations that I feel will benefit me when I take the test. Continue to expand the database of flash cards and possible practice test questions.

### 5/5 — 7/8/7 ASTB

*2026-03-07, version 1.1.81*

This was my main content for studying for the ASTB and I only took the test once. The ANIT was very accurate, and the UAV was very helpful for the PBM section. I did supplement with the jantzen sim.

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2026-02-25, version 1.1.81*

I used this app for close to 3 months and it was worth it. I took the ASTB twice, the first time I was off by 1 point and the second time I passed with flying colors. If you need something to help you study, this is the app for you.

### 5/5 — ASTB prep

*2026-02-20, version 1.1.79*

Great app if you are applying to be a naval aviator this app is a great practice for the real test.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-02-18, version 1.1.79*

This is a great study tool that you can take with you anywhere. It’s got a few minors errors. When you complete a study subject (e.g. Math Skills), it will say “in progress”. It doesn’t do that for all subjects, maybe half of them. That’s my main complaint. The other errors that I’ve noticed are just grammatical.

### 4/5 — Nice app

*2026-02-17, version 1.1.19*

This app has been helpful for me so far while studying for the ASTB and the best part is having everything in one place. Unfortunately the Desktop version does not have full practice tests like the IOS version, but if you purchase the app on your Mac you automatically have access on your iPhone as well

### 5/5 — Great stuff

*2026-02-16, version 1.1.79*

For the stick and throttle I still go with the jantzen ASTB trainer but this is like 80% of it at least

### 5/5 — primary study tool 52 7/8/6 first take marines

*2026-02-11, version 1.1.79*

I used this app the pbm section was the most accurate to the test, all the other portions were great help. The reading section was a little harder than the practice test here. But all in all if you went in 100% studied up on this app you will perform well and at minimum be prepared and not be hit with any section you weren’t expecting.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Mediocre

*2023-09-21, version 1.1.27*

I used this app to study for the OAR. The only thing it really helped with was the mechanical comprehension. The math is all basic stuff and does not even begin to cover what is on the actual test. There are only test taking tips for reading comprehension. The OARs reading section dwells on military scenarios and instructions.

### 3/5 — Helpful, but not completely accurate

*2024-12-02, version 1.1.64*

This is a good app to use to develop familiarity with the aviation sections. The OAR portion is fairly good at presenting information, however it does have some issues. An example would be the mechanical comprehension section when it has an example for average velocity the answer it gives is 136.39 mph for a car that went 5 miles in 22 minutes, when the answer should 13.63. Small typos like that are common throughout the material.

### 3/5 — Amazing on your phone, could be better on MAC

*2024-10-26, version 1.1.7*

ASTB Prep has been incredibly helpful for me, especially with the UAV/Terrain identification, I crushed that stuff my first time taking the exam. Only issue is you cannot scroll on the Mac. I can do the PBMS on my laptop and it really helps with the Terrain since the screen is much larger but I wish I could go through full lessons.

### 3/5 — PBM Needs Work

*2024-06-02, version 1.0*

Love this app on my phone but at the moment the stick and throttle portion is bound to the keyboard. Really would be better to have the stick able to bind to the mouse.

### 3/5 — Some Math Questions have incorrect answers and walkthroughs

*2023-10-24*

Wasn’t sure how to contact the developer so just figured I’d leave a review. First, the UAV portion and Terrain Identification are worth the app on its own, but if you’re refreshing for some basic math concepts it’s frustrating when the answers aren’t present and the explanation is incorrect. The question I encountered (and took pictures of) was (11²/4)/(5^5 x 2). The right answer wasn’t present and during the review section after the fact it was solving for 5² instead of 5^5, which was presented in the question.

**Developer response:** Doug, thank you for leaving a review. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the UAV and Terrain Practice Tests. I apologize for the frustrating experience when using the math practice test features. I will double my efforts to verify the correctness of questions in the math practice tests. If you have any other specific problems you suspect have errors or any other recommendation, please reach out via the Facebook page for the app.

### 3/5 — Not as helpful as I hoped.

*2023-08-17*

I bought this app for $20 about a month ago for obvious reasons. I studied daily for several hours up until the test. I actually scored worse on the OAR section. The math in this guide is thorough but I didn’t see a single problem that was like the ones I had studied on here actually translate to the test.

I will say this app did help tremendously with the UAV section and a minute amount of ANIT information. These sections are really the only ones that benefitted me.

All in all I appreciate the effort put in by the developer(s). However, I do not know how people were improving their scores.

**Developer response:** I apologize that the product did not meet your expectations. I am glad to hear that certain sections of it were helpful. Your feedback is valuable to me, and I would appreciate it if you could share your thoughts on the test experience and how the product can be improved. Please feel free to contact me via email (alexhasting@hotmail.com), the app's Facebook page, or on Air Warriors with the username "TwoScoops" at your convenience.

### 3/5 — SOME ANSWERS ARE WRONG

*2022-07-12, version 1.1.19*

Overall amazing app. Uav portion is worth the money alone. But some answers for are wrong. Misleading, especially to those trying to learn the subjects for the first time. Question with 14 books is supposed to be 40 not 54. And the uav portion, the building in the middle should be a tent, not a building. Also it would be helpful to put in audio for the uav as the real test talks to you while you do it. Would be great to do emergency scenario training too.

### 4/5 — Good but sims crash

*2026-07-27, version 1.1.85*

Very helpful but keeps crashing on my computer when I try to connect a joystick for the rear cockpit, hoping it gets fixed soon

### 4/5 — Worth It

*2026-06-14, version 1.1.83*

This app is very good for PBM preparation. Combined with a stick and throttle it's all you need.

All of the other sections however aren't so comprehensive and is more of an overview requiring supplemental study material.

### 4/5 — Review

*2026-05-08, version 1.1.83*

I like the app, it helps but to expensive

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — 67 9/9/9 on first attempt

*2026-08-11, version 1.1.86*

This app was my primary tool to study for the test, and it prepared me better than I could have asked for. The PBM practice got me more than ready for the actual test, and the academic sections are dynamic and challenging just like the real thing. If possible, I would recommend going out and getting an x52 or a similar flight stick to pair with the windows/Mac version of the app. This will absolutely prepare you for the pbm. This app was absolutely worth every penny, and if you want it badly enough, this app will get you there.

### 5/5 — Biggest help when prepping for the ASTB

*2026-08-07, version 1.1.86*

I used pretty much every feature on this app while studying for the ASTB and it helped me a ton. The math, mechanical, ANIT, and PBM practice were really helpful and made me feel much more prepared going into the actual test. Being able to practice everything in one place and not having to jump around was probably the biggest thing for me. After taking the ASTB, I definitely feel like this app prepared me well for what to expect. I would 100% recommend it to anyone getting ready to take the ASTB, and this will be the first resource I send to anyone who asks me for help preparing for it.

I would definitely recommend the training session with Lou, he gave me great tips and advice and even remembered the day my exam was and took the time to follow up

### 5/5 — Great Apl

*2026-07-29, version 1.1.85*

Got accepted as a BDCP SNA with 50 6/8/7 on my first attempt using only this app. Would have easily gotten a near perfect score with other resources -such as the OAR app- but this app is in general the best and most up to date app on the market - worth every penny.

Also had the opportunity to do a coaching lesson with Lou. Great guy who takes his time to answer your questions thoroughly.

Overall, this app is incredible, with the all the flight portions being identical to the real test. If you want to pass, buy this app.

### 5/5 — The best option if you need direction to start your naval career.

*2026-07-28, version 1.1.85*

I have prior service in my family but no Navy or Pilots. I started with this app since it was the only thing I could find once my recruiter told me “study for the ASTB”. I got a 6/7/7. And I am on my way to OCS as a Pilot select. I would not have been able to do this without the guidance of Lou. He was always willing to pick up the phone and be a mentor no matter how hard or long the process has been so far. I recommend this app to anyone willing to get started as a SNA OR SNFO. Just be ready to do the work

### 5/5 — Great so far

*2026-07-26, version 1.1.84*

I’ve been using it as my main study source and I enjoy it. The one function that needs to be brought back is selecting what certain parts of the math test you can focus on, and matrix’s need to be added.

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2026-07-26, version 1.1.85*

Was recommended this app from airwarriors ages ago. I kind of used it infrequently until I came upon my 3rd attempt on the ASTB. I did a coaching session with lou, and he explained how to navigate the app & how I should he studying. My scores went from 3,4,5 to 5,7,6. The app definitely helps!! Download immediately!!! Worth every penny!!

### 5/5 — Scored an 8/7/7

*2026-07-22, version 1.1.85*

Extremely useful and much easier to use than a paper test book. The reading section was the only part that wasn't similar to the actual exam.

### 5/5 — 6/7/6 to an 8/9/8!! Worth every penny!

*2026-07-19, version 1.1.84*

This app helped me secure my dream job and I couldn’t be more grateful. Some of the questions on the app were the exact same as what you see on the ASTB. Even when the words are different, this app will help you hammer the concepts before your test date. Make sure to practice the sim, too. It also plays a huge role in your scores. Would buy it over and over again!

### 5/5 — Best App Ever

*2026-07-16, version 1.1.84*

This app got me a 9/9/9 on my second attempt after getting a 3/2/3 on my first attempt

### 5/5 — Interactive Learning with Even better Customer Service!

*2026-07-16, version 1.1.84*

I’ve been using this app for a couple months as an interactive learning tool while on the go. I really appreciate the step by step explanations and tests, when you complete sections there are motivational quotes by real service-men even when you fail lol there are other appropriate quotes! Recently I was locked out of my account from an update and I emailed the team, within a few hours Alex Hastings the creator personally responded and resolved my account the same day! Everything was just as I left it with all my progress still there, absolutely amazing, thank you Alex!
