### 3/5 — The new update today is BAD

*2026-08-16, version 4.16.0*

Wow please change this update it’s terrible, especially for the readings

### 3/5 — Was a good app once!

*2026-08-14*

Was a really good app, but since they have updated it and put lots of other bits in (which never work!!). I’ve can’t seem to use it, without it going wrong. 😢

### 4/5 — Good but…

*2026-08-10*

There’s a lot of repetition of questions

### 2/5 — Lots of potential

*2026-08-09*

This app is where I started to learn tarot. I dedicated myself to learning from here and did not realize until I bought my first actual deck that the app cuts off a lot of the cards. Some of the things talked about here describing the cards were hard to understand because you literally can’t see it in the image they provide because it’s cut off. I reached out to Astra about this three times. The first time I was told they would look into it, the other two times I was completely ignored. Since I now only use this app to reference cards when I don’t have them on me, it’s no good to me anymore and I’m trying to get a refund. In addition, I’m not convinced anyone is proof reading their AI created info and quiz questions. A few times things were very confusing or simply wrong. Also the format of the training became mundane over time because it felt like there was no variety in it. This is all unfortunate because over all this app has some great potential. But if the tarot cards are inaccurate, that’s a deal breaker.

### 2/5 — False Subscription

*2026-08-08*

I wish I could give a better review because the app itself is nice. The tarot card breakdowns are fine and to the point. I enjoyed it so much I made the jump and I signed up for the year subscription. HOWEVER, I’m still not able to continue with the tarot learning path. When I go to move to the next card, it asks that I subscribe. I’ve contacted the developer and nothing. Astra Trainer was very quick to take my money, however their response time is HORRENDOUS.

### 2/5 — Repetitive but structured

*2026-08-02, version 4.11.0*

Daily lessons will keep you on track, but those lessons are repetitive and probably AI generated. The rest of the app is a MESS. Games and side quests that are never explained. There is no search or help function. Important concepts are never explained. Just buy a book.

### 3/5 — Love but $$$

*2026-06-19, version 4.0.0*

Amazing app but is way too expensive!!

### 2/5 — Good but expensive

*2026-06-03, version 3.16.0*

I really liked the demo, but it’s way too expensive. There needs to be a way to go monthly. The website says they don’t offer monthly because they’re “not looking for casual visitors” meanwhile monthly doesn’t always mean casual.. it just means more accessible and affordable.

### 2/5 — Love the style too pricey

*2026-05-12, version 3.13.0*

I love the style of the app I found the demo really fun but it’s just so pricey and I can’t afford it unfortunately.

### 4/5 — Back arrow

*2026-04-23, version 3.7.0*

I’m loving and learning lots with this app. But what happened to the back arrow within the lessons? The only option now to review a page or two back is to leave the lesson entirely and restart from the beginning. This is annoying and frustrating. Please restore the back arrow within the lessons.

### 3/5 — Cool app but expensive

*2026-04-05*

Tried the demo out and it’s definitely better with how it explains cards than competitors. Only issue is the lack of monthly subscription as an option. Not everyone has 100 bucks on hand for a yearly plan. I’d pay 10-15 a month for a subscription when I have the money but yearly or lifetime being the only options available is going to price a lot of potential users out. Which is a shame because it’s super cool. Being able to exchange readings with other users is a game changer.

### 4/5 — Awesome but…

*2026-04-01, version 3.0.3*

I’m partially blind and even with my settings adjusted, the print won’t become larger

### 5/5 — Very Happy with This

*2026-03-31, version 3.0.3*

This app has been great so far. It goes into such depth and really helps improve your tarot reading abilities! Love it!

### 3/5 — Helpful, but a few things drive me crazy

*2026-03-16*

Update: after using this app for the past 3 months, I’ll add that the lessons are at least 1/3 too long and very repetitive. Do we really need to have multiple questions to determine if the answer is for relationship/work/outcome, or past/present/future? I”d love to see each less have HALF as many questions as it does. It feels very tedious to work though them like this. The app is helpful and the question based lessons are good for my learning style. But a few things drive me absolutely nuts. First, I hate the little tutor dude that interrupts my learning to give praise comments. They are pop-ups that linger on the page way longer than I want to stay on the page, and I don’t need or want those cutesy little messages at all, but especially not if they slow down my progress because I have to wait for them to disappear before I can move on. 2nd, I don’t like having to scroll down pages. Please just format it for iPhone and make the pages be one screen length. Particularly annoying, since sometimes I’m just trying to scroll down the page and it takes my touch input as an answer (usually the wrong answer.) 3rd, WHY do I have to hit enter twice to answer questions when I type in a word? I shouldn’t have to hit enter on two separate pages to get the question scored. Finally, I wish there was just less commentary generally. I don’t need the little wizard teacher dude being all chatty. Just give me the information, don’t try to be cute and clever.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2026-03-16, version 2.19.4*

I love it. It is very informative and breaks things down to be easily interpreted.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Paid but couldn’t use the app bc of a glitch and haven’t heard anything back from them in 5 days

*2026-07-22*

I paid for the annual subscription through Apple and I see it as paid and active until summer of 2027 in my Apple subscription. I’ve tried to delete the app and reinstall, turn my phone on and off, log out and login, email Customer Service. I still can’t access the app and it’s been five days since I emailed them with screenshots of my subscription information. I paid over $70 for nothing at this point and hope that a review will get them to notice this needs to be refunded or fixed or addresses, please.

### 1/5 — Meh

*2026-07-17, version 4.8.1*

Stole my money. Customer service is super unhelpful.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-07-09, version 4.7.0*

The app deleted all of my progress. I can’t access any of the things I need. No response from customer service

### 1/5 — Promising concept, but the interactions aren’t genuine

*2026-06-10*

Astra offers a practice feature where readers can post tarot readings and receive feedback from users. The idea is appealing …a way to develop your skills through real interactions with people who are genuinely seeking guidance.

However, after using the app for some time, I started noticing that the same small group of users appeared in my sessions over and over. When I looked into it further, I found that these same accounts were also leaving reviews on other readers' profiles — using nearly identical phrasing every single time, across different readers and different readings.

This pattern strongly suggests that the "users" engaging with readers are not real people. The practice feature, which is supposed to connect readers with genuine seekers, does not appear to deliver that.

I contacted support and received a vague response that did not address the issue. I'm sharing this so other readers know what to expect before investing their time.

### 1/5 — Fully AI-made content, avoid at all costs

*2026-04-30*

It’s really bad at teaching, the contents are very AI-like, it says lots of things repetitively, wrongly points out the exact level of energy of a card. Ace of cups yet the energy is like 10 of cups, etc.

### 1/5 — Reeks of ChatGPT

*2026-03-12, version 2.19.3*

See title

### 1/5 — Deceitful pricing!

*2026-02-22, version 2.17.3*

The app itself seems pretty good, I tried the demo lesson to see if I’d like it, I enjoyed it and it said to subscribe for £4.99 a month and cancel any time, so I thought for that much I’ll try it for a month to see if I’d enjoy it… they’ve taken a whole years worth and charged me £59.99! I cannot find a way to unsubscribe and get my money back! £4.99 isn’t too bad for me to try it for a month but didn’t want to pay a whole years worth of I don’t like the app after a month or so!!

### 1/5 — Only yearly option

*2026-02-09, version 2.16.2*

Good information on the trial but it’s ridiculous not to have a monthly option, only a yearly one!

### 1/5 — so much money

*2026-01-22, version 2.15.7*

it won’t let me buy a single month. like what am i going to do with a whole year. why would i spend $120 for a whole year to learn tarot man all any person needs is a month or two 😭💀

### 1/5 — 💸🇬🇧🇺🇸

*2026-01-19*

Une seule leçon possible sans avoir à payer et uniquement en anglais… Ils disent que c’est les « Duolingo du tarot » mais avec Duolingo on peut vraiment faire des leçons. C’est dommage car ça a l’air d’être très bien fait sinon.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great insight, awkward Gen Z appeal

*2026-08-29, version 4.18.0*

One of the best apps I’ve found for learning things like business ideas and branding growth. The small chats before the lessons are super annoying though. It’d be much better without those in my opinion.

### 5/5 — Thank you daddy

*2026-08-03, version 4.12.0*

Happy Valentine’s Day! This app is everything I’ve ever needed. Highly recommend to all other me’s out there.

### 5/5 — So far so good!

*2026-07-24, version 4.9.0*

So far just starting I’ve learned more in this interactive approach than just reading a book or website. The words used help me picture the meaning in a way that I’ll remember - the sword slicing the air; wand lighting passion and fire ; cup flowing with water and emotions; pentacles grounding and material! Just a snippet of the connections I was missing!

### 5/5 — Explain the difference

*2026-07-02, version 4.5.0*

What’s the difference between just having a year (of something?), or maybe the Tarot? Or the University? Everything is $119. But I want to try different classes. So what do I do? Which do I pick?

### 5/5 — Instead of doom scrolling!

*2026-06-15*

I’ve always been interested in astrology, numerology and tarot, but never had an easy format with which to learn. I came across this app and tried the first free lesson before bed one night, and realized that not only did I learn a lot, but I could absolutely see this cutting down on my nightly social media use as well. Now, instead of doom scrolling those few minutes before I get tired enough to sleep, I use this. I also use it if I wake up in the middle of the night and cannot get back to sleep.

I really enjoy the lessons and seem to be retaining them well. I’m excited to finally learn, and I definitely recommend.

I hope they add a Human Design training section one day soon!

### 5/5 — Definitely helpful

*2026-05-20*

I have enjoyed the review of the tarot cards. I do find, though, that in some of the lessons the answers to the questions are not presented, until after the questions are presented. Also, in explaining the symbols, often in the little quizzes, the definitions are switched. Otherwise, it’s a great app. It has helped me become more confident.

### 5/5 — Edited (Why can't I log in?)

*2026-05-16*

I am at home now, on my home network and when I opened the application, I was already logged in. This is a problem.

Also, I found where to report technical issues: there is a link in the App Store page for Astra Trainer, near the bottom. So I will be using this to report this issue.

I have been working through the Major Arcana and for some reason, was auto-logged out. Now it will not let me log in.

I paid for a lifetime subscription to this application. That I am unable to access it is very concerning.

Also, I can find no method of contacting technical assistance, so, that is the reason for this review.

### 5/5 — Love this app but

*2026-04-27, version 3.8.0*

Great app but I'm pretty sure Mercury doesn't rule the pineal gland. It rules the mind, thinking and communication. You have it listed as ruling pineal gland I. The magician tarot card

### 5/5 — Great Quiz setup to learn

*2026-04-24*

Love the quiz setup, very useful in learning the basics

### 5/5 — Easy Intro

*2026-04-06, version 3.2.0*

I’ve decided to purchase the subscription because the trial was very helpful and organically learned.
