I dedicated myself to learning from here and did not realize until I bought my first actual deck that the app cuts off a lot of the cards. Some of the things talked about here describing the cards were hard to understand because you literally can’t see it in the image they provide because it’s cut off. I reached out to Astra about this three times. The first time I was told they would look into it, the other two times I was completely ignored. Since I now only use this app to reference cards when I don’t have them on me, it’s no good to me anymore and I’m trying to get a refund. In addition, I’m not convinced anyone is proof reading their AI created info and quiz questions. A few times things were very confusing or simply wrong. Also the format of the training became mundane over time because it felt like there was no variety in it. This is all unfortunate because over all this app has some great potential. But if the tarot cards are inaccurate, that’s a deal breaker. ### 2/5 — False Subscription *2026-08-08* I wish I could give a better review because the app itself is nice. The tarot card breakdowns are fine and to the point. I enjoyed it so much I made the jump and I signed up for the year subscription. HOWEVER, I’m still not able to continue with the tarot learning path. When I go to move to the next card, it asks that I subscribe. I’ve contacted the developer and nothing. Astra Trainer was very quick to take my money, however their response time is HORRENDOUS. ### 2/5 — Repetitive but structured *2026-08-02, version 4.11.0* Daily lessons will keep you on track, but those lessons are repetitive and probably AI generated. The rest of the app is a MESS. Games and side quests that are never explained. There is no search or help function. Important concepts are never explained. The only option now to review a page or two back is to leave the lesson entirely and restart from the beginning. This is annoying and frustrating. Only issue is the lack of monthly subscription as an option. Not everyone has 100 bucks on hand for a yearly plan. I’d pay 10-15 a month for a subscription when I have the money but yearly or lifetime being the only options available is going to price a lot of potential users out. Which is a shame because it’s super cool. Love it! ### 3/5 — Helpful, but a few things drive me crazy *2026-03-16* Update: after using this app for the past 3 months, I’ll add that the lessons are at least 1/3 too long and very repetitive. Do we really need to have multiple questions to determine if the answer is for relationship/work/outcome, or past/present/future? I”d love to see each less have HALF as many questions as it does. It feels very tedious to work though them like this. The app is helpful and the question based lessons are good for my learning style. But a few things drive me absolutely nuts. First, I hate the little tutor dude that interrupts my learning to give praise comments. They are pop-ups that linger on the page way longer than I want to stay on the page, and I don’t need or want those cutesy little messages at all, but especially not if they slow down my progress because I have to wait for them to disappear before I can move on. 2nd, I don’t like having to scroll down pages. Please just format it for iPhone and make the pages be one screen length. Particularly annoying, since sometimes I’m just trying to scroll down the page and it takes my touch input as an answer (usually the wrong answer.) 3rd, WHY do I have to hit enter twice to answer questions when I type in a word? I shouldn’t have to hit enter on two separate pages to get the question scored. Finally, I wish there was just less commentary generally. I don’t need the little wizard teacher dude being all chatty. I’ve tried to delete the app and reinstall, turn my phone on and off, log out and login, email Customer Service. I still can’t access the app and it’s been five days since I emailed them with screenshots of my subscription information. I paid over $70 for nothing at this point and hope that a review will get them to notice this needs to be refunded or fixed or addresses, please. ### 1/5 — Meh *2026-07-17, version 4.8.1* Stole my money. The idea is appealing …a way to develop your skills through real interactions with people who are genuinely seeking guidance. However, after using the app for some time, I started noticing that the same small group of users appeared in my sessions over and over. When I looked into it further, I found that these same accounts were also leaving reviews on other readers' profiles — using nearly identical phrasing every single time, across different readers and different readings. This pattern strongly suggests that the "users" engaging with readers are not real people. The practice feature, which is supposed to connect readers with genuine seekers, does not appear to deliver that. I contacted support and received a vague response that did not address the issue. I'm sharing this so other readers know what to expect before investing their time. ### 1/5 — Fully AI-made content, avoid at all costs *2026-04-30* It’s really bad at teaching, the contents are very AI-like, it says lots of things repetitively, wrongly points out the exact level of energy of a card. I came across this app and tried the first free lesson before bed one night, and realized that not only did I learn a lot, but I could absolutely see this cutting down on my nightly social media use as well. Now, instead of doom scrolling those few minutes before I get tired enough to sleep, I use this. I also use it if I wake up in the middle of the night and cannot get back to sleep. I really enjoy the lessons and seem to be retaining them well. I’m excited to finally learn, and I definitely recommend. I do find, though, that in some of the lessons the answers to the questions are not presented, until after the questions are presented. Also, in explaining the symbols, often in the little quizzes, the definitions are switched. This is a problem. Also, I found where to report technical issues: there is a link in the App Store page for Astra Trainer, near the bottom. So I will be using this to report this issue. I have been working through the Major Arcana and for some reason, was auto-logged out. Now it will not let me log in. I paid for a lifetime subscription to this application. That I am unable to access it is very concerning.
