### 1/5 — Privacy yes, personalisations- missing?!

*2026-06-22*

Loved the privacy details on this bug there doesn’t appear to be any way whatsoever to create a personalised chart based on one’s birth details which defeats the purpose of the whole thing! The help section is woefully unhelpful and I’m grossly disappointed.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 4.1.2 — 2026-09-01

Place names on the globe

Country names at a distance and cities as you close in, set in the same quiet type as the coastlines, so your lines stay the loudest thing on the sphere.

Day and night
A shaded half marks where the Sun is up. It is the same edge the Sun's ASC and DSC curves trace, so the two read together, and it follows the moment you are looking at.

Every line labeled
With all forty lines on, each marker carries a short chip at a distance and its full name as you close in.

Your place on the sphere
Where you are, and the place you are asking about, each carry their own mark.

### 4.1.1 — 2026-08-27

Warmer, end to end

A theme used to set one accent color and nothing else — the ground under every screen was the same near-black whichever one you picked. Now a theme sets the whole surface: the ground, the type and the accent together. Astro-Cartography opens warm.

Six themes
Ecliptic is a clay accent on warm charcoal, and it's what a new install starts on. Almanac is new — the same warmth in amber. Moonlight is neutral, Ethereal green, Aurora pink, and Astronaut the cold blue it has always been. Whichever theme you had already chosen stays chosen.

The map
Apple's map sits back now — desaturated, with points of interest off — so your lines are the only color on it. "All bodies" works: forty lines, every planet, at once. Each planet's labels keep to their own latitude, so they read as a ladder instead of piling up on the equator.

The globe
GLOBE was Apple's satellite imagery, and once the map sat back it was the brightest thing left in the app. It's drawn now, from the app's own coastlines — sphere, grid and land all in the theme's quiet tone, so your lines are the only color on it, at the same weights and dashes the flat map draws. Drag to turn it, pinch to close in. Tapping a line still names it, and a long press still drops a pin.

Appearance
The screen shows what it sets instead of listing hex codes. Your own Sun, Moon and Rising sit at the top and repaint as you move down the list, each theme is drawn in itself, and every planet row draws its line at the weight the map is set to.

Your chart
Every placement now names its house — Sun 10° Capricorn, 10th house — from cusps the wheel has been drawing all along. Every line names its direction: 744 km, west. Sun, Moon, Rising and Midheaven carry their degrees.

Settings
Your birth moment leads now, with the birth time the screen never used to show, and your birthplace is drawn rather than listed — the country in your theme's own colour. The settings under it are grouped into what you see and how it works. Help opens the full guide inside the app, and still works with no signal.

Faster
The map used to throw away everything it had computed each time you left the tab, then recompute it on the main thread when you came back. It keeps its work now, and that work happens off the main thread. The same moment is never computed twice, whichever place you ask about. And scrubbing time no longer rounds the sky to the nearest hour.

### 4.1.0 — 2026-08-24

A new look, end to end

Astro-Cartography now speaks the same design language as our other apps: flat surfaces, hard edges, and one color on screen that actually means something. The stacked boxes, borders and glows are gone.

The map
The controls are now a full-width band across the bottom that tells you how many lines you're seeing and opens wherever you tap it — no more hunting for a small chevron. Map, date and location sit flush against the right edge instead of floating over your chart. Each line now carries a single label naming the planet and the angle — Sun ASC, Moon MC — instead of two separate markers. You can also hide the status bar for a full-screen map, under Settings › Display.

Your chart, reordered
Your lines lead now. The line nearest your birthplace is the headline, with the rest ranked underneath — where before they were the last thing on the page, below the aspects table. Sun, Moon, Rising and Midheaven read across the top as a single strip, and the wheel, your placements and your aspects follow.

Travel
The line you're closest to is now the headline of "Where You Are Now", with the distance beside it.

Themes
Five accent colors now, including Aurora — a new pink. Ghost is Moonlight and Neon Grid is Ecliptic; your saved theme carries over. Each one sets a single accent color, so every screen stays readable whichever you pick.

### 4.0.6 — 2026-08-04

New: Your chart, as a chart
Your Chart now opens on a real natal wheel — the zodiac ring, your house cusps, every planet drawn at its true position, and the aspects between them traced across the centre. Tap any glyph to read its exact degree.

Where a planet sits in your sky
Tap a planet on the map and you now see the path it travels across the sky at that place: its height above the horizon right now, and the times it rises, climbs highest and sets. The Moon, Venus and Mercury also show their true phase.

Rebuilt map cards
The planet, line and location cards now share one design, sized to your screen and coloured by the body you tapped.

Also in this update: rise and set times, brightness, disc size and illumination are now read straight from the ephemeris, for readings you can trust.

### 4.0.5 — 2026-07-15

New: Trip Maps
Every trip now opens with a glowing map of the country itself — its real coastline drawn in light, your stops numbered in order, and your route tracing itself from city to city. Tap replay and watch the journey draw again. Your trip list gets a matching touch, with a small country silhouette beside each trip.

Profile
Your profile now carries a small sigil generated from your birth moment and place — a planet glyph and slow orbit, unique to you.

Also in this update: refinements throughout for a calmer, more premium feel.
