What's New in Astro

2.31.0

August 30, 2026

Home screen widgets are here! Add Astro-COLIBRI, Latest discoveries, Observable tonight or Watchlist to your Home Screen or Lock Screen and follow the transient sky at a glance. Every widget comes in several sizes and follows your colour theme and language. Also new in this version: • Fermi-LAT Light Curve Repository: long-term gamma-ray light curves of more than 1500 catalog sources, one tap from the source, with CSV and VOTable export. • Cone searches now cover the full 90% localisation region of gravitational wave, Fermi-GBM, IceCube and MAXI alerts instead of a fixed circle. • Long-term visibility: darkness, moonlight and observation windows for any period up to a year at your observatory. • Host galaxy cross-match rebuilt around GLADE+, the DESI Legacy Surveys and SDSS quasars, with an image cutout for every match. • New MAXI/GSC X-ray transient alerts, and all public gravitational wave alerts from O1 to O3 are visible again. • NMMA can now fit and rank up to 16 supernova and kilonova models on the same event. Plus a public alert stream over Kafka, updated TeVCat and Fermi-LAT catalogs, and a range of smaller improvements and bug fixes.
