Now, with this App, I have my local position setting right on my phone....already calculated. All I have to do is aim my scope due south, reset, then find my next target. I had a Win-32 application that did some of what this thing does as my background, but this is way better. Most importantly, it's in my pocket. Love the drag-the-time feature. Clear that the author wanted to make the app usable above all else. Works on >= iOS 6 which is perfect for a Luddite like me. No dumb or useless features. All parameters manually settable. That was an actual exchange with a neighbor. With this incredible app, you too can be the neighborhood expert on those bright objects in the sky. I have used a mechanical astrolabe for decades, but it does not show the planets. Faithfully reproducing the ancient Astrolabe it shows you the heavens in a way that makes everything make sense. Get this and enjoy the sky with a new understanding! I have had several versions of this wonderful program and this newest version gives you many excellent features. This is one well thought out and executed app! ### 5/5 — Magnificent *2014-12-15, version 1.10* Wow! I love looking at the brass astrolabes in the Museum of Science in Oxford. Now I have the C21 equivalent on my iPhone. And it works. Found by accident looking for a calendar of moon phases (and rising times). This does that and heaps more - identifies stars, shows the planetary positions. Unlike the brass astrolabes, this can be easily configured for any latitude. A beautiful app that's really practical. The Author gave a very helpful reply to my question regarding the small offset of the Time Ring: [i.e. it shows the Equation of Time]. However, since the recent update, it won't work on my old iPod (iOS 6.1). Please fix if possible. They always revert back to December 31, 1969 at 18:00. ### 2/5 — Abandonware *2019-12-20, version 1.11* Extremely poor performance on latest iOS. Hasn’t been updated in over 4 years, needs to be removed from app store. ### 2/5 — not very responsive *2019-11-23, version 1.11* Under IOS 13, I can barely zoom in or out. When I tap on a planet, it has to think about it and decide if it wants to show me information about it. The red fonts are hard on the eyes.
