### 1/5 — Nothing but music

*2019-11-10, version 1.7.2*

I got a Jupiter notebook, downloaded the app & all I get is a black screen with the icon & music. I never get the main screen with add a product l

### 1/5 — Really disappointed at the product and customer support

*2019-08-29, version 1.6.6*

Bought a mini set a week ago and none of the mini planet can be scanned by the app. Reached out to the customer service, but they did no help. I asked for a solution, but they didn’t reply my follow-up email...

### 1/5 — NASS Notebook

*2019-07-17, version 1.6.2*

Purchased the notebook. The notebook I received does not coordinate with the instructions to use the AR. Would not have purchased had I known this.

### 1/5 — App barley does anything with product.

*2019-04-27, version 1.5.7*

$160 on the mini solar system for my kid that loves space. We can only add it to 1 device which is not helpful as we have a few.
We added each planet. Then you face the camera at it and all it does is shows you the plane it space and tells you like 3 facts. Nothing else. You are missing a huge opportunity here to make a great learning experience. The app should do way more. Nothing worth showing off at this point. I’m fine having to buy the product but once it’s “unlocked” it should really let you dive into a planet. This is incredibly disappointing.

**Developer response:** Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback. We recently updated the solar system mini AR version. There are more data information and facts that your kid can interact with them! Please update the app to the latest version and check out how new AR works with mini planet here: https://youtu.be/a4PV2oqdb2k

### 1/5 — Exactly the same as kin_kong's review.

*2018-01-28, version 1.3.8*

100%.

### 1/5 — How to use this with Lunar Pro?

*2018-01-19, version 1.3.8*

I bought the Lunar Pro through Indie GoGo and received it some weeks ago. However, after downloading this app, I have no idea how to activate the ability to use the AR function for the model. The only options I have when I open the app is to scan 2 posters, neither of which I own. I’d love if the app had some better instructions if I’m missing something, or if I’m not, an understanding of when this functionality is available. Thanks.

**Developer response:** Hi there,
We are so sorry for the difficulties.
How to use Pro model
Step 1: Download the AstroReality APP and allow the access to your camera.
Make sure your device is connected to the internet.
Step 2: Choose the scan function - Tap “ADD” in the middle of the bottom bar.
Step 3: Scan the QR code as shown at the last page of the user manual.
Your LUNAR Pro model comes with an unique QR code. Make sure you keep the QR code safe.
Step 4: Tap the “LUNAR Pro” section on AstroReality.
Step 5: Place the most "contrast" side of the LUNAR Pro model towards to the device.
Start the AR experience from the recommended shown area. Best distance is about 8 inches (20 cm) from your device to LUNAR Pro.

### 1/5 — Nice idea. Poor delivery.

*2017-12-28, version 1.3.5*

So I purchased the moon for $150+ and hoped the interactive app would make the purchase more palatable. Unfortunately the app does not work at all. It will only function on the moon picture not the Lunar Pro model.
I would have thought this would be up and running already. Not only a kissed Christmas gift (very late postage) but also an ineffective app to go with it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — terrible app

*2023-12-13*

i’m writing a review because no one will get back to me or respond. I invested into one planet because I had a feeling this would be cheaply put together with all respect. The app consistently says “error, please reload.” This has been for the past week. These are nothing more than over priced painted rocks found on the street. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM THEM. I hope someone from the company sees this and reaches out, leading to this review in general. Customer service 0/10, functionality 0/10, and overall 0/10.

### 1/5 — App Broken, email bounces back

*2023-10-27*

Sadly the app is broken, planets will not load. Customer Service is defunct. I would not buy the planet sets unless for paperweights.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2023-09-07*

This is trash I was using the app and please update it and I put the book in the trash 😡😡😡😡😡

### 1/5 — Company is defunct

*2023-05-18*

This app is non-functional and I’m unable to load any of the AR modules for any of the 4 expensive mini planets with the notebook QR codes. No response from company.

### 1/5 — Instructions not clear, buggy.

*2023-03-16*

Earth Mini model. $40. Sorry to be negative. Purchased at Museum store. Instruction booklet nor clear. Constant, outdated news items interfering with experience. Has app been updated since 2020? Graphics crisp. Good concept. Over priced.

### 1/5 — A 3D gif with no learning opportunities

*2021-10-20, version 1.9.9*

I was really looking forward to using this product in class. I regret to say that the best fitting description I have for this product is a scam.

There are free apps out there that offer beter AR experiences than this pricey set.

The app shows AR for mere seconds, then reverts to what is essentially a 3D gif of the solar system. There is no information or teaching whatsoever, not even a basic fact sheet.

The only information source are links to NASA articles, that keep popping up in the style of ad bars, literally looking like spam.

I am very disappointed and wish I had spent my classroom funds on a real science product. This is unworthy of being called educational and doing so is an insult to educators.

I have reached out on several occasions asking if there is some sort of error happing on both devices I’ve tried this on, but I have yet to hear back from the company. Customs service is certainly not up to par either.

### 1/5 — Good idea, bad implementation

*2020-06-14, version 1.8.2*

Works really poorly in AR mode.

### 1/5 — QR won’t scan on iPhone 8

*2019-12-27, version 1.7.2*

Title says it all. Please update and fix. I have the lunar notebook.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2019-12-24, version 1.7.2*

App will not open in IPhone 7
All it does is play music.
Waste of time and money
Will cancel Astro box

### 1/5 — Mars

*2019-12-02, version 1.7.2*

Please like the idea but can’t get it to work

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It’s awesome!

*2020-11-22, version 1.8.6*

I think it’s really cool! Some science teachers should get these. They could help with teaching about space

### 5/5 — Walking on the Moon

*2019-09-11, version 1.6.8*

I love this experience!!!

### 5/5 — Limited augmented interaction but worked flawlessly.

*2019-07-26, version 1.6.3*

Actually had my son post a video review on his YT channel of the Solar System Mini.

I don’t know about the other models but with the Mini, there is a QR code on the back page of each planet’s booklet. After downloading the app to an iPad Air 2, we scanned that QR code with the app. Some planets took a few seconds to scan and register, but I’m sure it was because of excessive movement.

We did have an issue of Neptune’s QR code actually being a Jupiter code. We emailed AstroReality and they promptly emailed us a proper Neptune QR code within a few days. We then just scanned the QR code within the email and the planet Neptune registered within a few seconds.

After the planet minis were scanned and registered, we found that the planet models needed to be removed from the acrylic black & white / letter & number base in order to properly display the augmented reality planet.

When we left the planets on the black & white base and tried to view the augmented version, it would get all janky and not display properly. But with the planet removed, it worked flawlessly no matter how we turned the box. The app just needs to see the code on the acrylic base at all times.

We were initially nervous that the app would not work correctly from some of the reviews, but not a single issue once we figured out how it worked. Apparently, the bug fixes have worked or that other reviewers couldn’t figure the app out.

Now if they could incorporate an augmented “layers of each planet” within the app, that would be awesome!

### 5/5 — Size does matter...

*2018-05-15, version 1.4.4*

I just got my Lunar Pro and my first impression is wow! I must say I got the mini along with the notebook from a mail order company and wasn’t thrilled about what it could not do vs. the pro model. Maybe I expected too much so I went and purchased the pro model and glad I did! It’s really beautiful and the links that show up are both interesting and informative. Of course the photos are from NASA so you know those are going to be perfect. It comes with this little clear acrylic stand and I put it on a black piece of fabric and it’s beautiful! Just looking at it in the right light in the family room is satisfying, but I can’t keep my hands off it. I find a crater and read the info associated with it and if I want more info I Google or Bing it and before you know it an hour or two have gone by. If you have any interest in the moon or just want to know more about it get this and get the Pro model. I know, I made the mistake of buying the mini first. The mini is still pretty cool, it’s at work and everyone that comes in wants to know about it. What I’m enjoying most are all the links with the big moon! This is a long review but since I had two models I thought it would be good to hear from someone who could tell both sides for an honest review. I wasn’t paid for this and there are other reviews in the App Store from me you can find, not a lot but there are some. I don’t do many reviews but this item deserves one. Now they created the universe and I can’t wait to see what that’s all about!

### 5/5 — Amazing！

*2018-05-02, version 1.4.3*

The app is very user friendly! The product and the app are both very well design and it is easy to use! I bought the solar mini and looking to buy some other product in the furture!

### 3/5 — Yep! Not working - update -working now

*2018-02-24, version 1.3.9*

Saw this at the consumer electronic show. The folks at the booth were very knowledgeable and convinced me this was a worthwhile project to invest in for our library. We purchased the lunar pro and the model of the moon showed up, however our model didn’t look like the photos for the matchup to run the program. Have a contacted the company but have not heard back yet. It is a great idea but is in need of many fixes.
Update:
The company did get back to me and we worked through the issues. First and foremost make sure you have plenty of light on your moon. It worked reasonably well and will be using it as a teaching tool. Still not a “10” but a good solid 8 ! The company was very responsive which is essential for such a product. A more thorough instruction manual and explanations would be in order. All in all it works for what we purchased it for. Hope they expand its capabilities. 2-18.

**Developer response:** Thank you Mike for contacting us. If you have more questions please email us.

### 2/5 — Extremely disappointed

*2020-05-08, version 1.8.0*

As of now, even with an app update, this AR does not work. Too many glitches. My household owns all of the mini planets, the moon and now the Earth and several other accessories. The Earth AR will not even load. The others glitch or freeze up. I have deleted the app multiple times and started over. Our internet on my device is high speed so these issues are not on our end. I contacted company through messaging on IG with no response yet. As of today, the two stars review is just because the planets and moon are nice looking but without function they are nothing more than high priced balls.

### 2/5 — Not quite satisfied

*2019-11-04, version 1.7.2*

Bought four but only the notebook can be scanned. Good idea but poor delivery.
