My monthly plan was $140 prior. The salesman said it would remain almost the same only increasing to about $150. The last 2 months my bill has been $250+. I call and was told he upgraded our plans to premium plans, added insurance to both phone lines ( my phone is 7/8 years old) and added a $10 a month upgrade anytime option ! ALL WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE ! The app will not open no matter how many times I close it and reinstall it! The cell phone coverage was never great, but I stuck with them. Then two ago the strength dropped. Often only 1 bar. Even worse, sometimes it said emergency calls only. Then new calls stopped coming in, and I’d receive a voice message an hour later. When the phone indicated I could only make calls via satellites, I made attempts to reach AT&T customer service (call, website, chat, visit a local store). I won’t describe the brick walls I encountered. One source would contradict another. I got the feeling they felt “that’s not my job”. I was offered a solution that didn’t work. Because I still owed on the phone, I decided to buy a second phone from a different vendor. They have a better signal. My plan was to cancel the AT&T service when it expired (if coverage didn’t improve by then). It hasn’t. I have one month to get all business I deal with to register the non-AT&T number. (They now all use your number to verify your identity when you log in. Goodbye AT&T - you made it impossible to stay loyal. ### 1/5 — Since AI: WORTHLESS *2026-08-20, version 2026.7.1* I have had to deal with AT&T the past two weeks when my internet went out and they denied it was their problem. (I was on call for my job). The next day they found they had a problem (I received a text) and fixed it four days later with no bill credit. Meanwhile I had to purchase Starlink to get online for my job. I have not been able to talk to a person through this but had to deal with their app/chat and voice AI that goes in circles without ever assisting. Now Directv says ATT still bills me for their service and ATT chat keeps referring me to Directv and I can’t get an invoice. The wait at ATT to talk to a person is over an hour on the phone. It is intermittent. I bought a signal extender & am trying to install it. I am told to press the WPS button, there is none. I asked the online system & it says it can be done from the menu (how about put a link to it!).
