## What is At The Sea of Madness Prologue?

In the heart of 1930 Paris, the cobbled streets glow under the light lamps, the air is impregnated with the scent of coffee, grand boulevards are crowded with elegant Parisians, wrapped in their coats and covered in the fumes of their mouthpieces, as autumn draws ever closer.
In this fascinating scenery, we interpret William Murdok, a private investigator of an elegant appearance and sometimes questionable ways, who moves with confidence and an unmatched determination among the Parisian streets of Montmartre and the alleys of Montparnasse.
Murdok is known for his wit and his ability to solve the most intricate cases. He always wears an elegant hat and his lucky tie.
One day, while browsing through his cases, he notices a letter from his ex-wife, Eva, a beautiful woman, once a model, now a journalist, a letter with bad news for our investigator. Murdok has to talk to her, but something doesn't add up…
Play as William Murdok in an old school point-and-click graphic adventure, admire the scenery of Paris and all the cities he will visit in his first major adventure, dance between shadow and light, between the luxury of great salons and the misery of the streets, facing not only external dangers, but also the tormenting demons of his past.
Amidst intrigue, shady deals and not-quite-human creatures, Murdok will face his most difficult case, where his own life and the lives of his loved ones will be in danger. If you want to live and immerse yourself in an alternate reality, very close to ours, and experience a great adventure made of pixels and horror, you can't miss At the Sea of Madness: the game inspired by the universe of the great H. P. Lovecraft.

### 5/5 — Please

*2025-06-22*

Please add the Russian language, I love such games and it’s a pity that there are very few of them. I ask you developers to add the Russian language 🙏

### 5/5 — Great

Demo was a lot of fun. Shouldn’t the full game be available by now? It was last updated almost a year ago.

### 5/5 — Cool

*2025-03-26, version 0.103*

Love these type of point and click. Loved every minute can’t wait for more. Needs hints tho as some difficulty

### 5/5 — Nice

*2025-03-05, version 0.103*

A point and click type game with a very interesting story. Really nice for a free game. It can be a bit tricky to work out what to use and where but that’s the fun of adventure games you just need patience. I like the graphics and the interaction with different characters. The sound effects are great I feel like I’m in Victorian England, I could do with some clues at times though.

### 5/5 — Has potential to be great

*2025-02-24*

I’m looking forward to seeing how this shapes up based on this demo. A few bugs and playability issues , eg language switches away from English in inventory sometimes, inability to pick up some objects until you need them (then having to go back to retrieve them). Also I’m not a huge fan of the combination of hyper-pixelated characters and high-res graphics. But at its best this demo gave me “Broken Sword” vibes and I’m hopeful the full version will iron out the bugs and be a great old school adventure game. I will for sure buy it.

### 3/5 — Buggy game

*2025-01-09*

I love point and click puzzle games so was looking for some new ones when I downloaded this one. First, “prologue” should’ve tipped me off that it isn’t a full game. So don’t expect any conclusions when you download it.

Second, it’s quite buggy and occasionally prompts will revert back to Italian from English mode. In addition, it’s often hard to see where to go. In a video walkthrough I watched it appears that directional prompts are missing from this iOS version (so you don’t know where to walk to enter/exit, and it’s not always obvious/intuitive).

The bigger issue for me is that logic isn’t great and often you’ll have to retrace steps just to do a thing - super frustrating that you can’t pick some items up the first time you come across them. It just makes the game play more clunky. I also found that some of the assumptions are really not clear - like why would I need tape to make a lock pick? I ended up finding a video walk through to finish this up, but again, didn’t love that some of the puzzles were nonsensical.
