### 4/5 — Great little sim

*2025-01-20, version 3.4.16*

Great little sim that works well and isn’t cluttered with ads.
UI is too small and fiddly on an iPhone screen. Menus are not sufficiently intuitive.

### 2/5 — Not the best. Has potential.

*2025-01-12, version 3.4.16*

Have played this a lot and after a while, it becomes repetitive and underwhelming. There is no real dynamics to the game apart from the SIDs and STARs. No weather injects, no emergencies / Maydays or any real world issues to test your ATC abilities. Very basic. If it had these it could be a great ATC sim platform.

### 2/5 — No manual

*2022-06-20*

Can’t down load manual
No tutorial

### 2/5 — Not good

*2020-01-03, version 3.4.16*

Can’t even make an account

### 4/5 — Good

*2019-11-27*

The game is pretty good but I think it needs to be 3D

### 4/5 — Needs A Couple Improvements

*2019-08-15, version 3.4.16*

This game is extremely realistic, a tutorial would be good because I spent 30min before I figured it out... I am willing to pay but you should be able to have bigger bundles than 3 airports, (like country bundle) so like all off Australia for $24. But all in all it’s the best tracon sim out there it would be cool if you could make it voice recognition, there a realistic SIDS and the zoom bit for me really helps. 4/5

### 4/5 — Most realistic TRACON /RAPCON OUT THERE

*2019-08-01*

This simulation is very realistic without being overwhelming.
A radar controller doesn’t care about the A/C on the ground.
Try AIRPORT MADDNESS if you want to control a/c on the ground and near the airport.

Ps How do I do simultaneous approaches to parallel runs like the do in the real world. There is no advantage to parallel runways if I have to use 3miles /1000 ft separation and have them at 2000ft all at hand of to tower.

Help this would make it my favorite.
By the way this is easy to do on ATC VOICE APP

### 4/5 — Best ATC game on the market!

*2018-08-25*

Pros - real schedules, real weather, change time of day so you can practice during lighter traffic times, controls are easy

Cons - add legacy airports to this version. I bought ATL and HNL when they were alone, don't play as well as the newer versions (can’t assign Sid/star, I’d buy them again for that feature). Group airports by region or sell individually instead of 3 at a time.

Overall, love the app, been playing for years!

### 2/5 — Not bad, but download model makes it unbearable

*2018-04-12*

This a better TRACON sim for iOS. Aircraft performance isn’t realistic for GA aircraft, but it’s not bad overall.

What makes the app unbearable is the way the developer groups airport downloads to squeeze the most amount of money out of you. For example, if you’d like to control aircraft in the metro NY area, you have to buy three separate expansion packs, at $8 each, because JFK, Newark, and La Guardia are each on separate expansion packs. Similarly, Miami and Fort Lauderdale are on separate packages, as are Chicago Midway and O’Hare. I bet the developer would see more downloads(i.e., make more money) if he packaged airports by region instead. I’m more likely to buy a NY package and a SOCAL package, than packages that include African and Asian airports I’ll never play

### 1/5 — Annoyed

*2017-12-15, version 3.4.0*

This use to be my most favourite game. Got a new phone and now I have to buy all the additions again because they won’t let me transfer to the new phone. Will delete it. Sorry that your game has become useless. Not paying for it again.

### 4/5 — Few improvements needed

*2017-11-27, version 3.4.0*

Still definitely the best and most realistic ATC simulator on the App Store by a long way. Improvements needed:
1. Real world timetables are wrong and lacking a lot of traffic (missing more than 25% of commercial flights alone)
2. METAR suddenly updates (which changes active runways without your control) causes chaos. A 10 degree wind change when the wind is only at 3 knots can unrealistically change all runways to reverse ops even if you have 5 aircraft lined up on final! Let us select the actives manually, and stop preventing us using a runway with a tailwind of under 10 knots. The app chooses actives only on wind, which is annoying at KSAN for example when the visibility is below minimums for 27, but because there is a 2knot westerly wind, 27 is made as the active by the app!
3. The MOST ANNOYING FEATURE - every 45 minutes, a box suddenly pops up with 'end of shift. Do you want to continue'... At least 50 times (no exaggeration), as I'm busy pressing all over the screen controlling 20+ aircraft, I accidentally hit the 'end shift' button instead of 'continue' and the session closes. This happens all the time as it suddenly pops up and you've pressed end shift before you've even realised the box has popped up. WHY do u even need this end shift every 45 mins???? And if you do want it, then please add a second 'are you sure' box or something. Please fix this frustrating issue.

### 1/5 — Come on real

*2017-10-08, version 3.4.0*

It only tells you too buy expansion

### 1/5 — Pay to play

*2017-08-30, version 3.4.0*

I'd say around 50 airports are available, but not from the get go. You start with two, the rest come in packs of 3 for £7.99, a massive scam if you ask me.

### 1/5 — Unable to Open.

*2017-06-11, version 3.4.0*

The app requests your email and you're unable to submit or move further than this screen.

### 4/5 — Best ATC sim but...

*2017-06-03*

...still has a long way to go.
The aircraft control menu, which is what you use to give instructions to the aircraft is way too small for a touchscreen, probably fine for the pc version. Airplanes disappear when they touch the ground, there is no simulation of landing ground roll, which should be a factor for this game. The awesomeness of the variety of traffics and aircraft vanishes the time you instruct a Cessna 208 to increase airspeed to 250 kts, and it complies... or a C172 climbing at 150 kts... the terrible performance simulation is the single worst thing of this game, and the dev seriously should work on this... PLEASE!
Another feature that is missing is weather, there is a METAR report, but no wx radar feature to guide aircraft around cells.
Other than that the airport packs are a bit pricy, so it feels as though a great feature of the game would be to have a ton of different airports to play with, but only playing 3 or 4 because you are not spending 8 more bucks on 3 more airports. BTW, an airport request: Seoul-Incheon

### 1/5 — Nope

*2017-03-03*

Every plane is disabled won't let you play anything

### 4/5 — Add more features

*2017-02-24*

This game is great but I feel like it would be better if they added a feature where you can control the planes while they are on the ground at the airport. For example, when the plane lands, you should be able to tell it which gate or parking spot it has to go to. And then when the plane is ready to go, you can give it pushback clearance and have it taxi to the active runway.

### 4/5 — Great ATC sim. Needs a fast 3x or 5x adapter

*2016-07-11*

This is a great radar ATC game. I love the SID/STAR with restrictions. The game can be a bit slow over a long period of time. The developer should either add a 3x, 5x, 10x accelerator or make the aircraft faster.

### 2/5 — Not real, too costly

*2016-07-02, version 3.4.0*

Why can't I assign a heading rather than point an inaccurate arrow in the general direction desired. That's not very realistic. Nor is the fact I can't control an aircraft already in the ILS glide path after handing off. Pilots are far more intelligent that you've programmed. They wouldn't blindly fly into another aircraft before slowing down. Real ATC's can tell pilots to"expedite their orders for faster response. Can't push mad tin if you can't give the right commands.
Why should I have to pay so much money for a simple airport upgrade? Especially when I can't choose which runway to make departures from? Paid for the program already. Upgrades should be cheaper by far. Shouldn't have to buy 3 airports to fly out of one that I want to fly from. Sell them individually and I'd buy more. At a greatly reduced price of course. Don't jam unwanted airports down our throats, thank you.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No support

*2025-10-26, version 3.4.16*

Great potential and good playability but absolutely no support. Recently lost all airports. What about a refund, this is akin to stealing money after I purchased the app!

### 1/5 — Non-functional

*2023-06-12*

Couldn’t figure out how to use this app. Free version doesn’t appear to work at all and the link to the user manual on the website is a bad url. Disappointing.

### 1/5 — Needs update for modern screens

*2022-04-29*

I loved this app years ago but it needs a GUI update. Everything is far too small to read or tap on modern phones.

### 1/5 — WHAT CAN I DO??

*2021-08-17*

THERE IS NO FREE AIRPORT ????

### 1/5 — Looks cool but broken

*2020-12-22*

you can’t even do anything

### 1/5 — Not worth the money paid.

*2020-02-17, version 3.4.16*

I reinstalled this app after wanting an interest in ATC games with realism involved. Safe to say that the developer has given up on this game like many users before it. I had no onscreen instructions on how to get aircraft to take off. No speech recognition meant that I also could easily try to interact with incoming or outgoing aircraft. It also didn’t help that the overlay for the flight information not only blocked my view but made it hard for me to interact with the aircraft.

### 1/5 — Terrible just terrible

*2019-07-13, version 3.4.16*

I opened the app and immediately it said get the full version now. I declined and looked for airports I could go too. I picked Sydney because I like that airport. And of course you have to pay. So instead I went to San Diego. It was one of two free airports. Nothing happened and emergencies and arrivals were disabled because you have to pay for them. I deleted the app soon after. Do NOT get this app.

### 1/5 — rubbish

*2019-01-09, version 3.4.16*

it won't start, and when it does it crashes

### 1/5 — Unplayable

*2018-10-26, version 3.4.1*

Text and menus so small it’s unplayable on an iPhone. Don’t bother downloading never mind playing.

### 1/5 — Non-responsive on iPhone C

*2017-12-20, version 3.4.0*

App opens with a prompt to visit the website for an important news announcement. No other buttons respond to taps/touches.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Impressive App

*2016-05-18*

The best ATC game I have ever had. Real SID/STAR Procedures gives the most real experience being an Air Traffic Controller.

### 5/5 — Great simulator

*2016-01-24*

The iPhone screen is a little small for playing on. But this is a game I come back to time and again.

### 5/5 — Great! Finally a realistic ATC

*2016-01-07, version 3.3.0*

Great fun, realistic and addictive.

### 5/5 — Very realistic

*2015-11-16*

Worth it

### 5/5 — Realistic App

*2015-11-01*

Great app to learn air traffic control procedures and can be quite challenging!

### 5/5 — Good

*2015-08-02, version 3.2.2*

Very good

### 5/5 — Two thumbs up

*2015-05-24*

I like it

### 5/5 — ATC4REAL

*2015-05-20, version 3.1.0*

Really nice app, love this game so much. It would be much more nice if it's configured with The IOS in MacBook Pro/ Air.

### 5/5 — No more than three stars right now.

*2015-03-29, version 3.0.061*

This new app won't let me past the sign in screen. It cuts off the buttons for sign in, on this iPhone 4s. And the previous three volumes I have refuse to migrate as a result.

Otherwise there are a handful of great qualities. It's real time strategy/simulation, and as such has a slower pace. Want a faster time? Start your shift by turning the hours, at the start, so you're starting in or just before rush hour.

Once you've got your third license, the planes aren't specifically timed 3 minutes apart, so the pace can really pick up. Especially when you have an in flight emergency.
As with anything in life, patience is key.

Speaking of improvements what would earn back those 2 stars?
Assuming the iOS version has made the same changes as the PC version...

Holding patterns (real ones) for each airport would alleviate impossible traffic levels.
Also noise restricted areas.

Better separation rules recognition. 5 miles and/or 1,000 ft is correct but bringing in a Learjet close on the tail of even just a 767, the wake turbulence would tear the Lear apart. So proper following distances would be nice to see.

When the weather socks in and the airport closes, all non-emergencies should suddenly become departures and need to be vectored back out.

Little things. And an interface that prevents me from playing old version or the new one.

### 5/5 — Great concept, Good Execution

*2015-03-15, version 3.0.061*

This game is probably one of the best ATC games I've found. It's very realistic (being an AvGeek, I know!) and a great way to kill time. However, I have a few problems with it.

1. There are bugs. Planes will randomly disappear off the radar, then appear 5 minutes later in a completely different location. Sometimes, when a command is entered, this map randomly zooms out. Other times, you'll clear a plane to land, and a minute later it'll unclear itself and you have to do it again.

2. You can't zoom in and out normally.

3. While SAN and FLL are great, the expansions are too expensive, I don't want to have to pay $70 for all of the expansions. If they were $3 each (not $8), it'd be a lot better.

Things that I'd like, but not having them doesn't detract from the game include: in depth ground control (gates, taxiways, etc),More options with speeds and altitudes (the cutoff at 250kts and 10000ft is annoying, and only intervals of 10 and 1000, respectively.), and finally, more alert. that a new plane has appeared on screen.

With the fixes above, and maybe the addition of the features I listed, this would be a 5 star game for sure.
