## What is Athar?

I made Athar because so many days passed that I could no longer remember, and because I wanted a place to keep the moments worth keeping.

Athar (“trace” in Arabic) is a journal drawn like a sketchbook. Paper you can almost feel, ink in the color you choose, and a scene on the home page that changes with the hours of your day, from dawn to night.

What you write stays on your phone alone:
• No account, no sign-up.
• No servers, no ads, no tracking.
• We never see what you write, and we don’t know who you are.

Free, with no limits:
• Write as many memories as you like.
• Ink colors and paper types for every page.
• Writing prompts for when you don’t know where to begin.
• A gentle daily reminder, with nothing you wrote in it.
• Echoes: a page you wrote on this day a month or a year ago, brought back to you.
• Share a page as a beautiful image, whole or split for TikTok and Instagram Stories.
• Night mode: a dark journal with soft light ink.
• Search, trash, and backup to a file you keep wherever you like.

Athar Plus, one payment that stays yours, no subscription:
• A letter to the future: write it today, read it on the day you choose.
• Handwriting fonts for your pages.
• Home scenes: sea, lavender field, blossom tree and window.
• Stories told in moments: pages that continue one another.
• Photos, videos and voice recordings inside your pages.
• A PDF book of your journal.
• Face ID lock for the whole journal, or for a single memory.

Everything you’ve written and added stays yours and readable, always.

Athar works in English and Arabic.
