Wanted to connect with a broader fitness community than just the city I was in and took a chance on the app. This app has so much potential, good things about it, but the bots and fake accounts are OUT OF CONTROL. Many accounts “bored and looking to hookup” or “want to have fun, hmu on Signal or iMessage” with numbers in the bio, multiple fake accounts using 1 different pic but are the same bot. In all honesty, good app, again SO MUCH POTENTIAL! Major problem are the bots, maybe selfie authentication that used an actual photo or photos taken from the users camera, I’ll be a guinea pig😂 anything that could help this app be more successful than it already is. ### 2/5 — Great at first, but nowww… *2024-04-26* When I first downloaded the app, it was great! I enjoyed finding friends that have the same fitness interests as myself. Lots of actual great people that use it! It’s been about two months now that I have been logged out of my account. My account is now disabled and I have been trying to get ahold of the support team to get it fixed. I emailed them 3 times before turning to instagram and messaging the instagram account. I finally heard back from someone on instagram 3 weeks after I initially reached out on instagram saying they would look into it ASAP. I responded basically saying, “thank you”. That message was seen about a month and a half ago. My account is still not fixed, and I haven’t heard back from anyone. I followed all of the guidelines, so I am unsure why my account would have been suspended. I just tried getting back in and my account is STILL disabled. No explanation. No response. Just disabled. What is really disappointing, is that I paid for the subscription for a whole year before cancelling because I haven’t heard a single word back. ### 2/5 — Scam *2024-04-12, version 4.7* Scammers are everywhere be careful ### 2/5 — Great concept, update has less features/ worse? *2024-03-01* The app has a great concept and I’ve met decent people interested in fitness and the gym. But basic features are behind a paywall such as just having the option to find people in your area which primarily people want to find people to workout with near by not across the country. The unlimited swipes, boosts , view who likes you behind a paywall is fine. But otherwise this app is useless and essentially a discord or fb group for fitness would be better for this. Also the app use to have a newsfeed of people you followed or trending in general on app and now it’s gone or for life of me can’t find it. I see my previous posts but can’t find a explore page at all. The app obviously has fake accounts which should maybe have an option to verify by an ID and then be able to filter to show verified accounts or not. Many accounts are clearly fake and soliciting. Summary of my review: 1. Great concept, terribly executed 2. Paywall for basic features like location/ distance of people 3. No explore/ newsfeed as previously had or impossible to find 4. Fake accounts/ needs verification or option to show verified accounts only 5. Price for Gold is steep for what is currently offering/ quality. In all it has great potential and I feel it was better when I first downloaded it a year or more ago. The only improvements is speed and smoother UI but app crashed 3 times using it just now. ### 4/5 — It's on to something but doesn't quite have the 'it' factor. *2023-12-11, version 2.29* I like the idea of this but it needs more users. The idea of meeting like minded people to benefit your health is excellent, Athena just did not execute it. The reason for the 2 stars is I am unable to change my location to where I’d like it. ### 1/5 — Swipe right/left bit not loading *2023-10-01, version 2.29* The friends suggested thing isn’t loading ### 2/5 — Not that good *2023-08-26* The concept of the app is great, and I hope someone adds to the idea to make a better app. Unfortunately, I downloaded the app through a Tiktok advertisement, which stated that it is free, but it is not free. You need to pay to see who viewed your profile or added you. The pricing doesn’t seem worth it, as it is $13 a month. There are many fake accounts or people who are trying to use this as a dating app. But, I do see users supporting others and hyping each other up, which I like. Just wish the ads were truthful. ### 4/5 — fun app *2023-08-09, version 2.24* this is a fun app to meet friends and have goals and help each other. but with the recent update, now you have to subscribe to see who added you (and other things too) and to add friends which doesn’t really make sense to me. but it’s still a fun app! ### 1/5 — Trash App from A Trash Creator *2023-08-09, version 2.24* Whole lot of nothing. ### 1/5 — Unable to delete *2023-08-06, version 2.24* I had the application for a few weeks. Decided I no longer wanted to utilize the app. So selected to delete my account. A notification popped up saying “For security reasons please logout first then log back in to Delete your account.” Once I logged out I could no longer log back in; not because I didn’t know the password. But because another notification pops up “Whoops something is right, please reload the application.” So now I have an unwanted account out there I want deleted. Can someone please help me?! ### 2/5 — Athena app *2023-08-03, version 2.24* Needs to allow for more interaction ### 2/5 — Cool idea, false advertising *2023-08-03* The concept of this app is cool it'll be a place for people to meet other fit people and talk about fitness. But the reality is this is app is using the same dating platform style of tinder. It is not just for friends or socializing. it is a place where guys can be perverts and people swipe on each other based on appearance is not based on knowledge. It is not an accurate place to actually get new or good information. It's a place where people go, who are insecure about how they look, and they get swiped on for being attractive, and they ask for a confirmation that they are attracted from other people, and everyone gives them hearts, and makes them feel better about himself. and worst of all this app is not a regular social media platform as it requires you to pay a premium membership. If you basically want to be able to talk to people more. ### 1/5 — Disappointing updates *2023-07-21, version 2.17* When I first downloaded this app last year it was great. Perfect for the fitness community and support. Now it’s acting like a dating app (which it is not). Why are you blurring out workout partners? Why does an workout supporter or accountability partner need to be a surprise? Greta idea for fitnes community. Think ig/linkedin for fitness. But then it got flooded with bots and p*rn. I got locked out. Went to resign in and my profile was gone. They store profiles of users who do not have accounts. I know this because I found my old account that I had deleted over a year ago, still in tact. ### 1/5 — Where to start *2024-10-01* The app started off really good even got to meet some people on there… and I thought the app was amazing for the goals I aimed to achieve in my fitness career took some time off the app for competitions and when I came back it was different like people went from being people that you can actually interact with to bots or scammers in hordes… I would literally have 6 or 7 unread messages daily with the same greeting and as soon as you respond to their Heys and hi’s then they try to solicit you and it was back to back… so I took some time off the app until these issues got resolved to come back to a sign in screen and apparently Athena deleted my profile I had so much content on there… all my content was appropriately fitness related and I have tried logging in with my phone number my email and now I have 2 new accounts that I am not even going to bother setting up… felt like a huge waste of my time and my efforts to find like minded people were for nothing… huge disappointment and demotivated to even try and re start a new page for content… ### 1/5 — Bots bots and more bots *2024-06-23, version 4.9.0* Almost no real people on this. Downloaded it to try and find a workout buddy and it’s been anything but that. Only bots trying to sell s*x and scam guys. ### 1/5 — Adult Entertainment?! GROSS *2024-06-03* Well color me surprised when I tried to join a “clean eating” community within in the app and there was straight up porn in there!!!!! What in the world?!!! I mean post after post of women offering all kinds of things and none of it was related to a fit lifestyle…..or at least not in the way that one looking for gym friends who expect. I’m deleting my account immediately. You could meet up with people in your area who wanna go to the gym with you. You actually had a profile to keep up your progress over time, I don’t know where all my photos are now because I CANNOT get an only way of contact which is an email response. Figure the creator of the app just stopped caring and got money hungry. But this app has HEAVILY went down hill and don’t download unless you want a bunch of creeps messaging you. ### 1/5 — All fake *2024-02-18, version 3.02* So far 100% of the profiles are fake. Customer support does not respond to emails. I want to delete my account and never got a response. You have to pay to limit your search to your area. I came on this platform to find someone to workout or have lunch with because I seek for a gym partner whom I may trust in without others asking me to purchase their +18 content.
