The flat rate fee is great - send a little or a lot it costs the same, and much less than other platforms I used previously. The fee is only £3 for the 2 day service, or £15 for express service. It’s a really simple process, where you transfer funds to Atlantic, who then forward it onto your recipient. I’ve saved £100s over using Wise or Revolut sending larger amounts. Atlantic have great customer service too, and have always responded to my emails very quickly. Highly, highly recommended. Both with regards to my money safely arriving at its destination and with regards to customer support. It takes a bit of getting used to and more focus compared to a traditional transfer. Once the transfer has been ordered, payment must be made within a narrow timeframe (an hour I think) so as to guarantee the exchange rate that was quoted. Should one get distracted at this crucial point and forget to make the payment, one pays quite dearly from what I‘ve read. 3 days seems slow for the transfer but that’s what is quoted and adhered to as long as the transfer is made earlier in the day. Customer support has always been quick - within the limited opening hours of 9-5 Mo - Fr. All in all it’s going to save me a significant amount in fees and I’m grateful for that! ### 5/5 — Fast, safe money transfer at good exchange rate *2024-12-22, version 1.0.54* I transferred £750 uk pounds to an Australian Aus$ account. The transfer took only 2 days and the tracking facility kept me up to date on the status of the transfer. I can’t understand why anyone would pay rip off prices the banks and other money transfer companies charge. Atlantic only charged a small fee and no percentage of the transaction. Almost impossible to navigate the process to get your monthly limits increased. There are easier and much quicker ways to transfer moderate sums even if a little more expensive. Da man einen festgelegten Betrag an Konto senden muss, der im Anschluss in die Zielwährung konvertiert und weitergeleitet wird, ist nach dem Ablauf der Stunde – aufgrund des freigegebenen Wechselkurses – unklar, wie viel Geld genau beim Empfänger ankommt. Leider schafft es die “Compliance-Abteilung” nicht, Überweisungen über größere Beträge innerhalb dieses Zeitfensters freizugeben (in meinem Fall ging es einfach nur um Studiengebühren). Damit wird die App sinnlos, wenn ein exakter Betrag beim Empfänger ankommen muss. Ich habe es einen Tag lang versucht, aber musste verzweifelt aufgeben. Die etablierten Anbieter sind wohl aus guten Gründen etabliert. ### 1/5 — Rejected the Funds with no Explanation *2023-08-11* I issued a transfer via SEPA payment the exact same way I have done past transfers with them but this time they rejected the funds and did not process my request without being able to provide a reason for it. All I am hearing from support is “we have asked our bank, we cannot offer a solution”. Apparently you can’t trust them for larger transfers. **Developer response:** You subsequently confirmed that your bank sent us a SWIFT wire transfer, which we do not accept due to the costs involved in processing them. The funds were returned to your account immediately. If a customer has concerns about the status of their funds we will always do everything we can to answer their questions and check with our partner banks. ### 1/5 — No cumplen lo que publican *2023-04-28* Ellos tienen una promoción en la que si invitas a alguien a la aplicación te recompensan, todo empezaba muy bien ya que pagaban, pero al ver que se les empieza a salir de las manos lo que hacen es denegarte cualquier recomendacion que hagas, todas las que hagas seran erróneas y no solo me ha pasado a mi, sino a bastante gente le esta pasando lo mismo. Se lo notificaremos una vez finalizadas. ### 1/5 — Reinste Katastrophe wenn es schnell gehen muss. *2023-02-08* Moin, die App an sich ist gut allerdings ist eine Expressüberweisung theoretisch möglich aber praktisch nicht anwendbar mit der Begründung, dass es zur nicht möglich ist wegen der hohen Anfragen. Die Folgen sind verheerend, weil der Kurs für eine kurze Zeit von 2h reserviert ist und somit die Überweisung meistens zu einem schlechteren Kurs als vereinbart von statten geht. Des Weiteren sind hohe Transaktion mit weiteren Problemen sowohl zeitlich als auch technisch und betraglich begrenzt. Von den unnötigen Hürden und Regulatoren mal ganz abgesehen. Mit anderen Worten man kann nicht jede x beliebige Summe transferieren und das ist echt schade, denn darin liegt eigentlich der Vorteil dieses Unternehmens. Die angebotenen Kurse sind gut aber sichtlich beschränkt in der Anzahl der Währungen. Also wenn man viel Zeit hat ( mindestens 1 Woche) dann kann man die App nutzen und auch nur für bestimmte Währungen. Da die meisten Sepa Transaktion kostenlos sind und bei kleinen Beträgen der Vorteil von Atlantic nicht zum Tragen kommt, muss man wirklich prüfen, ob die gewünschte Transaktion mit Atlantic überhaupt Sinn macht. Hoffe es hilft euch in euren Entscheidungen. ### 1/5 — Erreur Atlantic Money *2023-01-27* Premier virement : sans encombre. Deuxième virement : je transfère le montant demandé : rejet, le montant en EUR a curieusement varié entre le moment de la commande et la réception ! Troisième virement : idem. Je dispose pourtant d’un courriel fixant précisément le montant réclamé, au centime près. Résultat, retard sur mes virements et obligé de substituer une très coûteuse solution d’urgence. Comme d’habitude, on croit faire des économies… et on finit en difficulté avec des services au rabais ou mal maîtrisés de start up balbutiantes. ### 2/5 — Transaction booked at an arbitrary time and tate *2023-04-05* I requested a full review of a recent transaction and what I received was a very picky skim of part-truths. I had booked a transaction at a rate of 1.62, confirmed and waited for processing, and after considerable time, heard from Atlantic that more details of my funds were required to increase what you guys call a “custom” limit. Please don’t call it that - it’s imposed by you, not the customer, and it’s at a standardised level, so kot at all what “custom” means. I kept uploading statements and you kept rejecting them and asking for more. It went on for 3 or 4 days. All the while I was in contact with staff via WhatsApp to explain extra details from my side (on my initiative) because the info you were requesting a) didn’t really prove what you were trying to establish, and b) the upload feature doesn’t function correctly (it looks like you’re uploading several docs at a time but I don’t think it was. Eventually, after uploading the same docs again, it was (arbitrarily) decided that the funds were legit and the transaction went through. At a lower rate, whereby I lost several hundred dollars compared to the transaction rate that I booked at. While chatting to the staff I ALSO communicated my fear and asked whether I would need to cancel the transaction and rebook or risk receiving an intransparent rate (which is exactly what happened). Staff provided intransparent answers like “we do not profit from from rate adjustments during transactions”. A day later, the rate improved again and I would indeed have been better off cancelling and waiting so that at least I would know what rate I was going to get. You guys made the trade without me knowing the rate, and it was at a low point in that week. I asked for a review and got some pretty high level nonsense so now I have taken the time to tell you what happened. I’m not sleeping on the streets and howling but I think this was not the way Atlantic is supposed to work and I’m pretty disappointed this happened. I also value the operation (or I wouldn’t take the time!) but the way you’re handling evidence of funds stuff is neither solid for security purposes nor function for practical purposes. Hope this helps. ### 2/5 — Not amazing *2022-09-07* I can’t say using Atlantic was a smooth or efficient experience. Signed up on a Tuesday, passed verification and started a transfer. On Wednesday they asked me to send the GBP to their account. My bank blocked the payment thinking it was fraud. Once this got unblocked they confirmed receipt same day. It took until Friday for them to send the money to the recipient, due to arrive by Monday. It took until Wednesday to reach the destination account, so over 7 days – exactly 7 days longer than Wise takes. Customer service over WhatsApp was quick and polite, but I found their responses quite cagey and generic.
