## Newest reviews (13 of 50)

### 4/5 — Good app & support, unstable broker connections

*2022-01-24, version 5.3*

Updated review (after checking spam folder 😜):
I like the app: good info, nice UI/UX. The portfolio performance calculation across accounts is off. The broker connections through Plaid are terrible. I had to reconnect my accounts to several brokers multiple times already. Other platforms I use connect through Quicken Connect and had no issues during the same period. Support is responsive.

### 4/5 — Really awesome app but the lag is frustrating

*2021-08-13, version 4.8.4*

Downloaded the app a couple days ago and it has a ton of great content and features. The only reason I’m not rating it 5 stars is that even with a perfect internet connection, basic UI stuff like scrolling and navigating pages has a significant lag. I’m using a 12 Pro so my device certainly isn’t outdated. I will still use the app’s basic features once my free trial expires, but I would upgrade both my account and rating were the lag problems to be fixed.

### 3/5 — Lacks Grayscale investment integration

*2021-04-27, version 4.1.0*

I want to love this app but at this point I simply can’t. I love the design, it’s functionality, and the plethora of information it displays. It is by far has the most detailed analysis of any portfolio tracker out there. And trust me, I have tried them all.

But there is one MAJOR feature lacking. It doesn’t track any Grayscale investments. This a problem for me. The only way to get crypto exposure in a Roth IRA is through trusts such GTBC or ETHE. I get not tracking crypto but Grayscale trusts are sold on the stock market not the crypto exchanges. I don’t understand why Atom tracks the prices for these investments correctly but doesn’t add any gains to my total portfolio. It skews my ROI dramatically. It’s very disappointing.

That said, I keep the app downloaded and check every few weeks to see if they have fixed this glaring problem…

### 3/5 — Invaluable information but does not tally portfolio correctly

*2021-03-06, version 3.9.0*

I find the information available through atom pro to be invaluable and worth the price. I have been simply unable to find anything like it elsewhere.

The app looks great, though the menu icons on the bottom ribbon are not very intuitive as to what submenu they lead to. I had to learn what the meant as it’s not obvious from their look, and I still sometimes forget what each leads to.

The app runs reasonably well considering what, I imagine, is a very long list of data sets to sort through, but on an iPhone 11 it still hangs up and crashes on a nearly daily basis.

But, most importantly by far, the app does not accurately track your holdings in Robinhood accounts, neither in tallying your portfolio nor in updating what you own and adjusting notifications accordingly. I will eventually cancel my subscription if this issue isn’t addressed, as it is obvious that the service isn’t complete until this issue is addressed.

So, it is a valuable service and the app has a largely great design. But it still doesn’t work very smoothly and portfolios are not updated correctly. Once the issues are fixed, easy 5 stars. Until then, 3/5.

### 3/5 — Looks great, needs lots of work

*2021-03-04, version 3.9.0*

Atom is amazing! The three stars is a reflection on the usability. Which feels glitchy. But overall this app is just incredible and certainly a step in the right direction. Now the bad.. Links don’t always work on desktop version which is browser based. Adding and removing lists isn’t as straight forward. There were symbols I wasn’t able to find. Add price/shares would be a nice option. I already tried the pro version with they’re very generous trial that not only includes one month FREE but then you get your first 3 months for .99. That’s FOUR months for $.99! The data they provide you is also incredibly detailed. The usability of the charts is GREAT!! But still a few updates away from ready for prime time as of 3/4/21

### 3/5 — Paywall

*2020-11-23, version 3.3.3*

Was one of the first downloads of this app. Really enjoyed the functionality and even recommended to friends originally.

Was temporarily grandfathered in to new atom +app but recently have found myself behind a paywall. No new features - just seems that the features I used to enjoy for free now required a payed subscription to access (estimates tab). For me, not worth it to jump to a paid subscription but maybe it would be for a more active trader.

### 3/5 — Portfolio not connecting to Robinhood

*2020-11-17, version 3.3.3*

The app connected nicely to my acorns account I have, but when I tried to link it with my Robinhood account it just says “we are experiencing connection issues with this bank”. I have tried for almost a week to connect but just keep getting the same message. So far as I can see though everything else works good, just I can’t connect my Robinhood account.

### 4/5 — Great app, all traders should have!

*2020-11-01, version 3.1.0*

Updated review bc devs were quick to resolve the white screen of death I experienced after upgrading to premium. Four stars due to ongoing issues with my linked brokerage account. Otherwise I love love love this app. It puts all the info I could want about my positions in an easy to digest format. Love the alerts. I feel so much more on top of my holdings now. Well worth the ten bucks a month!

### 3/5 — Quality app with a few challenges.

*2020-10-13, version 3.0.5*

The app has grown and developed quite a lot since beta. I do hope more of the web features make it to the app as has been the case. Performance has improved but still could use some more tweaking on the app. As some features seem to take a bit to load.

I was hoping the developer would allow early adopters / testers to opt into some kind or promotional in app price instead of the standard subscription now offered to everyone. A 30 day free trial isn’t really an incentive. I realize the developer has invested a lot into this app. And it shows. But I also think early adopters should probably get some kind of incentive to sign up for a subscription.

### 3/5 — Really good news and information, slow reloads and poor syncing

*2020-09-11, version 2.11.0*

The app is great for quick information, gathered articles, and tracking.

I connected my E*Trade portfolio which stunned up nicely, only after buying/selling it did not resync even after waiting several hours. Not very useful if I want to see everything in one place.

In addition, the load times for each page are often horrendous. Since I no longer presume all the data is fresh given my stale account data, but sure why this is.

### 4/5 — Amazing tool, could use a small fix

*2020-06-25, version 2.4.0*

Not being paid for this, wish I was though. Its a really great research tool, very simple. If anyone has noticed on Robinhood the dividend yield is consistently inaccurate, not a problem with Atom.

Only complaint is that it seems my Robinhood portfolio never quite updates as it should. My portfolio is $200 more than what it is in Atom right now, and its been like that for two days. But the portfolio is a convenience feature anyways, I can always just jump back over to the Robinhood app. Still a great research tool.

### 4/5 — Awesome so far.. suggestions

*2020-06-13, version 2.2.25*

- Mobile phone display is not big enough to reserve so much height at the top of the screen just for a 'Get Atom+' button and share button. Find a good place for these..

- Scrolling suddenly stops instead of bouncing to indicate the end of a scrollable area. The bounce is much more uniquitous, so most likely everyone (including myself) is used to it & may prefer it.

### 3/5 — Helpful with some confusing decisions; has stopped working

*2020-04-30, version 2.1.3*

Atom finance is a solid application with a cool interface and good information.

I have some issues that I’ll lay out here:
1) connecting to Robinhood was working but now does not
2) the app treats RH instant deposits as margin (which makes a little sense since bc of how RH handles these deposit) and doesn’t update once RH approves bank withdrawal, you ones account remains $X amount beneath the actually amount on RH
3) the S&P500 Russel2000 indexes on the home page aren’t those true indexes even though their listed as such... their SPY and the Russel2000 equivalent. In this regard other finance apps (Yahoo) is better. I don’t know why this was chosen
4) finally, currently the connection with RH (through Plaid?) is not working and has not been for a few days.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t download. Feels shady.

*2022-12-29, version 5.9.22*

Once you sign up, the app promptly tells you to pay to even see anything. Here’s a free advice for the devs give the users a preview. People aren’t going to blindly subscribe to a service without seeing what it offers.
Try giving a limited time access to the app and limited feature set after signup. And if you are worried people will create new accounts to keep creating new accounts, put the credentials in keychain, it persists between app installs and you can safely tie it to a device.

### 1/5 — Nice concept

*2022-03-20, version 5.5.1*

This app is a great concept, but doesn’t work. Atom will not connect to M1 via Plaid. I tried months ago and didn’t work. I reached out to customer care and they said they are working on the issue but didn’t know when would be fixed. Just checked and it’s still not resolved. On plaid it shows the connection is linked but nothing is in Atom. I’ll be going back to Personal Capital as their platform doesn’t have issues connecting to M1 via Plaid. Wasted $6.99 on a month subscription 😡

### 1/5 — Self important, redundant and unnecessary

*2021-12-29, version 5.2.10*

This is not an institution investing tool no matter what the marketing wank claims. It’s a boutique yahoo finance for retail baggies, with half the features.

Tell me one useful thing this paid app can do that you cant be done even better by another free app.

it’s obviously that this cute little primitive app for retail baggies is anything but necessary. That said what actual value is being provided here exactly? Maybe the daily write ups, so basically your subscribing to the blog of an amateur market watcher wanna be economist. That’s not worth six cents per month much less dollars.

### 1/5 — Requires subscription, tells you after you give all your details

*2021-11-06, version 5.0.4*

Wanted to just checkout this app. It requires a subscription and only tells you AFTER you give them all your details. Also, doesn’t tie into apple sign in for the email so you can’t use “hide my email” directly.

These are dark patterns meant to deceive you after they have your information to sell. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS app. If they are going to do this before you agree to the service, what are they doing with the rest of your data??

### 1/5 — Terrible notification management system

*2021-07-09, version 4.6.1*

I have been trying so hard to close all my notification for price movements on my portfolio. There’s an option for bulk edit and IT DOES NOT WORK. It will just reset all the notifications I closed and reactivate them again. Absolutely buggy app you need better software developers who can actually launch a useable feature. I get spammed by hundreds of notifications a day on content I do not want to see and your notification system needs major debugging and revamp.

### 1/5 — Update ruined it

*2020-12-28, version 3.5.6*

Format and appearance is excellent. The news articles are from all the typical financial news outlets and therefore completely worthless. Can’t get my IBKR account to connect. I do enjoy the daily briefs. This app is definitely better than yahoo finance. But overall like its predecessors it is not particularly helpful in my stock picking (mostly because the financial news industry is completely full of it) and I don’t find myself using it very often other than to read the daily briefs when I’m bored.

The new update and all the premium crap made it even more annoying and I deleted.

### 2/5 — Needs Improvements

*2021-08-26, version 4.9.7*

Am retired Wall Street portfolio manager of almost 55 years. Like a number of app features but have issues with (1) adding manual portfolio and (2) only being able to view app in portrait mode and not in landscape mode. Found it impossible to add manual portfolio. Was unwilling to use “Plaid” service to link to actual brokerage accounts. Spent great deal of time trying to add manual portfolio and got no real help from developer except for promises of improvements to come. Using app on smaller-sized i-phone is difficult and i-pad portrait only viewing not compatible with attached keyboard screen with which I cannot rotate screen to portrait mode.

### 2/5 — Lots of Potential but Terrible Support Team

*2020-07-11, version 2.7.0*

It’s quite nice to keep track of the companies and market info. That said, the overall interface is still a bit klunky.

And I have one major complaint: atom finance keeps requiring me to reconnect my brokerage account/portfolio for no reason.

I pointed out this issue via “Feedback” feature and have not received a single response. It is me like I am writing to a wall.

It is very frustrating having to reconnect my portfolio constantly because not the numbers are all off in terms of my portfolio progress. There were a couple of times where my portfolio displayed on atom finance fail to represent my actual holdings despite having reconnected.

If it needs to make it as a valuable source for investors, it has to be better with responding to feedback.

### 2/5 — Terribly Non-Intuitive

*2020-04-27, version 2.1.3*

Just downloaded and spent 15 minutes with app. Have no idea how to change indexes I want to see. So slow, and in some cases absolutely no response to screen taps that I had to close out as it seemed locked up.
Why do these types of multi-function, or maybe multi-resource apps not provide easy to navigate help screens. Maybe this app is fairly informative but for me, getting to that information and following it going forward, as it would apply to the equities I am interested in was just not possible.
My take away is that anyone downloading this and expecting to use it would need to be very familiar with other similar platform operational functions. The short of this review- PROVIDE BETTER NAVIGATIONAL ASSISTANCE, ie HELP options.

### 2/5 — Weak app & fake reviews

*2019-12-03, version 1.1.0*

Firstly almost all the reviews so far are clearly fake. But most importantly this app is very weak. This app tries to look clean and modern, but is taken aback by its lack of data and bugs. There is constant delay when tapping between tabs or really tapping on anything. Most of the data tells your core metrics Like revenue or EBIT, but most of the main ratios are lacking. The charting is fine but there are better ones out there. It’s no where near a professional app, and really like a beta stage right now. It needs a lot of polishing and a change in direction of what data it is showing.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Service

*2021-06-30, version 4.5.1*

I was skeptical at first, and I started the premium service yesterday with a promotion deal which provided three months premium for $0.99 then $9.99 for the next months. Today was my first day with premium and the service has already earned enough to pay for the first year. It notified me of breaking news: Apple had purchased a Roku remote button. This resulted in Roku skyrocketing and it allowed me to join the trade before it was over. I would recommend this to anyone who needs crucial information for the value and movements of stocks, as well as time sensitive news feeds.

### 5/5 — Incredible Value

*2021-06-18, version 4.4.2*

Atom is a Bloomberg terminal competitor in the making. Push notifications about index events, single stock events, or macro news events all beat my WSJ push notifications. Portfolio integration works like a glove. Would like research integration and bond details like FactSet, but maybe in due time.

### 5/5 — We need iPad version

*2021-05-01, version 4.1.0*

Amazing service. I really like everything, specially the morning, mid-day, and evening briefings. I like to read using the bigger screen of an iPad, rather magnifying iPhone version into iPad screen. I really hope that you are working on an iPad version.

### 5/5 — Great app! Trouble showing my Robinhood crypto

*2021-03-24, version 3.9.0*

All in all one of the best apps I’ve used to track my investments. Incredible look and feel, lots of customization, and can link several brokerage accounts.

I bought stock at 3 different prices, twice in one account and once in another. The app allows me to view my exposure and gain / loss across all my accounts as one number.

Another feature I love is the earnings and investor meetings calendar. This app is fully featured and all that I’d expect from a modern, personal portfolio management / tracking.

Currently, The app is having trouble with the cryptocurrency held in my Robinhood account. I have seen other posts about mismatched balances, this could be a reason. Anyways, minor blemish in an otherwise impressive and easy to use app.

### 5/5 — I’m a fan!

*2020-08-17, version 2.9.0*

Now I’m a read a 401K and stare at a screen contemplating volume kind of investor but atom makes it all so much easier and unlike Motley Fool or Seeking Alpha it links to my portfolio and shows P&L changes in an easier way. It also shows events or updates linked to changes in prices which is helpful for anyone who doesn’t sometimes have the time during the day to keep up with their portfolio. I love the clean and dark design and the calendar that lets me know important dates.

### 5/5 — Great Platform

*2020-08-05, version 2.8.0*

Like Yahoo Finance, CNBC, MarketWatch combined... on steroids

I found this platform while they were still in alpha and wow have they come a long way. They have added an impressive amount of features in a short time and I have found less need to scan different news and financial sites because they curate everything and push notifications through the mobile app.

Highly recommend this to anyone looking for portfolio and watchlist tracking for news, transcripts, docs and updates. Their Market briefings (Pre-open, Mid-day and after-close) are top notch!

Their are a few other platforms that have popped-up recently and they all have their pros and cons but Atom’s is definitely the most polished and “user ready”.

would love to see them partner with a TradingView to upgrade their charting capabilities but that is not a deal breaker for me since I have TOS.

Their portfolio tracker is great if you have multiple accounts across different (or the the same) brokers. You can connect directly with the broker and I don’t have to play around to update something when I make a change in my portfolio.

(For those of you with TD Ameritrade, you know it’s been difficult to find a platform that can connect)

Overall great platform and app! Definitely try it out and you will see there is not another platform quite like it available on the market.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2020-08-04, version 2.8.0*

Excited for the future of this app. Plaid integration is great, I worry that there is a lot going on but they are doing a great job of innovating and trying new things for the product.

The chats feature is my favorite because of the timely news for tickers I follow and the ability to talk to other traders who are interested in the same stock.

### 5/5 — 💯 gives personal capital some competition

*2020-05-20, version 2.2.13*

This app is turning out to be great! I love Personal Capital’s but it lacks real time reports. So I’m really excited to discover Atom. I would only add one small issue: it seems not really real time like other apps. Like 5-10 seconds lag or something. But that’s a minor one. Another is disorganized platform. I’m a bit disappointed that things appear out of place, with iOS app having to reduce text size too much in order to accommodate Atom’s text configuration. I think a new update should address that concern. Please also look into building a tab for different time periods for portfolio performance. I know there’s a 2 week period to check, why not 1 week, 1, 3, 6 and 12 months? Lastly, why doesn’t Atom categorize ETFs like Personal Capital does to break them into sectors and % of portfolio? All these being said, I recognize the product is new. So I’m patient and positive about future developments.

Thanks,
Atom user

### 5/5 — Powerful App, Much Potential

*2020-05-06, version 2.1.3*

I’ve been using Atom for around 4 months, and about a month ago got upgraded to Atom+ for free. I’m genuinely pleased with the amount of information the app provides, and the daily emails and personalized notifications are great!

A few tips:
- It doesn’t make much sense for you to have to rate a stock bullish, bearish, or neutral in order to follow it. Just have a follow button, and give the option to rate it. Not a huge deal though.
- The UI is really well-designed, but I have to agree with many other ratings in saying that the UX is a bit lacking. Tapping on things usually comes with a delay of a second or two. Just improving on the responsiveness would make it that much better.

Overall a great tool, and for a free app coming from a small startup, it fills a wide niche for the everyday investor who can’t afford higher-end tools.

### 5/5 — Clean/Great Support/Up-to-Date Info

*2020-04-08, version 2.0.18*

I have to say this is probably one of my favorite tools for researching stocks. At your finger tips you are able to find, research, and get up-to-date information on various stocks. Atom + allows you to get minute by minute news in bite size manner

I had a bug issue on the app, reported it, and was in continuous contact with Atom support. I appreciate the help and promptness in the midst of this epidemic.

Clean aesthetic appeal on the iphone and looks even better on computer. Setup is easy to ensure you save the stocks you are researching.
