This has been asked for a years it turns out and it looks like it’s been ignored by the developer. I’ll think twice before buying another from this developer. ### 2/5 — Notes get corrupted easily *2024-12-04, version 2.0.10* Not sure if this is an iOS 18 thing or not, but on my iPad I’m noting that even with very simple patterns, notes seem to get corrupted and when playing back don’t match what I have drawn on the grid. Kind of kills the whole value of this app for me. ### 4/5 — Great Plugin *2024-10-19* The UI is kind of tiny, but it's understandable because it's crammed with features. The App Store on my M1 Mac says it is compatible with MacBook Pro, and it installs, but it's not really available in any useful way. It doesn't show up in the AU list. Perhaps the app's listing could remove MBP compatibility from the page. ### 4/5 — Almost Perfect Midi Tool *2024-05-11* Atom2 is a good midi tool for working and performing with midi loops, however the amount of screen space taken by the multiple instance makes it awkward to use with more than five individual tracks on iPad unless your are fortunate enough to have a launchpad external controller. I feel for iPad use it needs a grid style interface in the style of a launchpad like the LK app has, if this was added or was part of an ATOM3 app it would be a 5 star app ### 4/5 — Doesn’t seem to support Launch Pad Pro MK3 anymore. *2024-05-09* I absolutely love this app and used it in AUM - launching clips with my Novation Launchpad X. Having recently upgraded to the Launchpad Pro Mk3, I was expecting the Session view to work in the same way. Unfortunately, it doesn't enable the session ‘clip launch’ mode. It still works on the X, so Im wondering if it’s the latest firmware. I hope the Dev will take a look and see if theres anything that can be done. ### 2/5 — App perfect example of iOS music shortcomings *2023-12-01* This could have been a professional level app but the one man band developer pulled a disappearing act for the past two years and now this app is incompatible with current standards and newer apps such as Logic Pro for iPad. Nobody to turn to for support or updates. Increasingly obsolete. It certainly provides a really beautiful editing environment for notes, except it is geared purely on clips, which I can live with, EXCEPT nowhere could I find how to add parameter controls for AUV3 instruments leaving my musical sections limited in their expressiveness. The reason I could not find what I was looking for is because it was not supported. So, I’m left disappointed, unfortunately. It showed a lot of promise. Ive been frustrated so many times in cubasis 3 just tapping in hi hat notes one step at a time when you can just paste it all in one swipe! Something i would love added would be strumming. Also why was the velocity “bars”, the little velocity “legs” at the bottom of the piano roll, removed? I see atom 1 had them, it would also be cool to have them added back as a simple on/off option but also be able to hide them from view whenever toggles on. Last feature i would love is to be able to paste steps through different notes instead of having all the pasted steps follow once you move up and down a note, that is a small feature i would only use for hi hat rolls for rap beats so its not a big deal. This midi editor is already far better then anything we have on ipad daws with NanoStudio 2 being second so thanks again for this awesome midi editor! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Sad, and sorry for being a bit honest and truthful *2024-08-08* This app is soon gonna lost into the oblivion, Soon! My condolences. Just out of respect I’m giving 2 stars. Update: Due to the sheer negligence of the developers, and the fact that they don’t care or absolutely not bothered by the fact that a huge number of people have spent their money, which was earned by working hard and was earned through their sweat. This is simply an act of disrespect and utter insult to the people who put their trust on this dev. Which he certainly absolutely do not deserve. If you’re going to do something, do it with integrity and dignity, if you’re not gonna work on this app, give it to someone else, there are a huge number of developers iOS can do wonders nowadays. But you’re not going to do that simply because you simply do not care and albeit an irresponsible developer. Anyway, congratulations on your success of lowering down the standard of the AppStore, Similar apps like Xequence, Helium, Fl Studios Piano Roll, have surpassed this already. Sorry, diese App ist es (für mich zumindest) nicht. Bei etwas längeren Tunes (z.B. schon bei 32 Takte) machen sich etliche Schwächen und Bugs bemerkbar. Beispiel: Wenn die Loop nicht auf Takt 1 beginnt, hüpft der Positionsanzeiger im Abseits herum. Oder: man kann plötzlich keine Takte mehr anhängen (die Buttons dafür verschwinden irgendwann); ect. sorry, damit kann ich nicht arbeiten. Zwei Emails an den Support: keine Antwort. Tut mir leid. Hoher Preis für schlechte Qualität. Das war (mal wieder) rausgeworfenes Geld. It’s being investigated, and it’s not an issue on iOS versions since 2019. Apple’s recommendation is to keep iOS updated, to avoid many security risks with your device and data. Please consider updating if possible. ### 1/5 — Just mangles all input *2021-04-30* Even in passthrough mode with all quantization off all MIDI input coming this plugin is somehow processed into garbage. Useless. **Developer response:** Hey, thanks for the feedback. Atom is not processing incoming MIDI, so what you’re describing is likely a configuration mishap, which I’m very happy to help you diagnose if you reach out on the support page. There are multiple “thru” options to choose from. I suspect you were using the “funnel” mode which joins MIDI together on all channels - this may or may not be what’s desirable depending on your needs. With the latest update, which added MPE support, everything is faithfully recorded and played, down to the exact sample, with maximum resolution. It has an interesting triggering interface as well that I will explore. Has benefitted from some good tutorials which swayed my purchase. The UI is a bit clunky but that’s because so much has been packed into it. Build with musicians in mind and obviously responding to a lot offered back. I think it’s the best there is, but there are a few thing I hope are improved. So I hope the app continues to grow and become even better. Here is one of the key benefits of this app to me. I have my digital piano away from my computer, and only a small MIDI controller at my desk. So I wanted a good solution for quickly jotting down ideas on my iPad, either on the screen or using my piano. I understand that this isn’t the main use case of this app, but it can work with a few limitations. I think this is an interesting usage scenario to explore, and grow the user base even further. Here are a few suggestions that would make the app better suited for that: 1- Lack of support for chord entry in Step Input mode is a bummer. I think this is critical for sketching harmonic ideas quickly. 2- Adding standalone support with only a subset of the functionality enabled will eliminate the overhead of setting up an AUM session just to enter a few notes on a piano roll and save the idea as a clip for later use. It would be really helpful to have the ability to creat clips in the clipboard in a standalone mode. ### 5/5 — Champion *2021-11-29* Super bien. My only suggestions are chord inversion options and to make the velocity function more accessible.
