I was very excited to play it, but before I even start playing, it crashes. I’ve restarted my device multiple times, but it keeps crashing. It just needs an update. *2023-04-22* So this game is very good, but the only problem is that when you beat it theres no point in playing it anymore. I got all the achievements and badges and im done, But I still want an update. for the update, I was thinking “Maybe you should be able to choose who fuses with who. And it can be multiple people. But not all four of the crystal gems.” I also think that at the end, you should fight the diamonds. As you can see in the beginning of the game in the intro, steven is a kid. Which means the diamonds haven’t negotiated with steven and the crystal gems. Just an idea, hopefully you guys see this review. love the game. Just want an update. ### 4/5 — game breaking glitch *2021-08-22, version 1.1.6* on world 4-4, i had found the chest with the blue key, then had closed out my game for a few, came back, and i tried opening the door with the key and it said i didn’t have the key, but i go back to the chest and it’s already opened. And i tried everything but the key is just gone and i cannot proceed without it, and my only option is restarting but i’m too far into the game so quitting is the only option sadly, considering how great the game is. ### 4/5 — Amazing Game - just 1 issue *2020-06-12, version 1.1.5* This game is pretty great; it plays like the original Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi games. Timing-based action commands make it one of my favorite games for iOS. The only issue I have with the game is that the badge system seems to be buggy. I will equip badges but they don’t show up after one battle during which they are equipped. The badges appear grayed out until I quit the game and try again. ### 4/5 — Steven Universe fans ➡️😍 *2020-05-17* Definitely worth it, it's a strategy/action game and about a few hours long for an average player. My one criticism would be that it's a little to easy, very glad diamond mode is their to make it harder but still when Steven's stocked up on a lot of items it still is not super challenging. I love it though, the voices, the style, the conversations, the roaming around Steven universes world and the STRATEGY different enemies, different moves, levelling up, equipping badges... Even if your not a fan of the show its a great game! 🙂 2020 May update: An update messed up the game a little. It keeps unequipping badges (in game upgrades) from your characters and then blocks you from re-selecting them. The only way to fix it is to get rid of the game tab all together to sort of reboot the game (you don’t lose any progress or items when doing this but still annoying). I hope this changes and when it does I will change my review back to 5/5 ### 5/5 — Badge bug - please fix it *2020-04-28, version 1.1.5* Attack the Light is probably my favorite RPG app that I’ve ever played! I really enjoyed everything through my first play through a few years ago. However, now that I’m revisiting the game, there’s an bug that the any badges I apply to Gems won’t stay on between levels, and I can’t use those badges again unless I restart the app. Please fix this when you can, and thank you very much ### 4/5 — Great! When I warp into a new place the second equipment slot becomes undone. Sometimes I can’t even reequip the item that was there. Also on the 4th world 4th level I picked up the key but it won’t trigger for the door when I press the lock. I have tried deleting the game and just trying to start over but I can’t seem to do that either. Please address this bug. It’s really disappointing. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2023-01-13, version 1.1.6* This is one of the worst games I’ve ever played. Unfair advantages, enemy spam, and boring gameplay. For one some enemy’s have extra health and shields that someone times will replenish in one turn. Big enemies are a big contributor to this they have lots of defense so it makes it that gems with 10 power or more are basically doing no damage to big enemy’s with your low attack. Two, strong enemy’s with high attack, defense, or health. Will be spammed relentlessly showing that no thought was put into the battles/gameplay. You also don’t get any new characters at all so it just repetitive after a short time. Lastly, the game just isn’t fun, it gets repetitive after a while and the lack of different enemy’s or good secrets only makes me think that this game had no thought put into it and was a massive oversight to get into the gaming world as soon as possible without any thought or effort put into the game. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money tbh *2023-01-01, version 1.1.6* I don’t know why this app has such high reviews… I love Steven universe and the other games in this series are great! But this one is just SO bad! If it weren’t steven universe I would’ve given up a while ago. I’m about half way through the game and only had a proper place to heal all my team members TWICE and those spots only let you heal once.. you can’t go back to earlier levels without completely closing out of the game due to poor menuing. There’s so many high level enemies and the gems are super super weak and all the moves take a crazy amount of points to do anything. You only get 5 points and it takes at least 2 to do anything aside from a very weak pearl attack and then the “good attacks” barely scratch the enemies. The timing is completely unforgiving. If I miss a defend I lose literally half my HP on a character and like I said before good luck healing anywhere. They probably didn’t have good funding for the game I don’t understand why the reviews are so glowing.. ### 1/5 — crashing!!!! *2016-02-13* I can't make it past the first dungeon because every time I am close to defeating the boss the game crashes. Though many bugs can be found, such as pausing when an attack is in session freezes the attack. And other bugs can ruin the experience. Also, the fusion mechanic is cheap, Alexandrite can’t even kill many of the groups of enemies in the last world. Maybe add Smokey quarts, opal, sugilite, or others. Otherwise this is a great game overall. Upon purchase most will find it necessary to turn on airplane mode to stop the game from crashing. This game is quite old and seems to be experiencing difficulty with the terms and conditions page. As for the game itself. I found it really fun and is still a blast to come back to time and time again. The combat is rather engaging, yet still on the simpler side of things. I bought the other two on Xbox and wanted to revisit the first one before I played them considering it had been a while since I played it. It’s a simple game but if you’re a Steven Universe fan, I’m sure you’ll like it. There were a few glitches throughout the game where I was completely kicked off the app. Another one was that although I 100% everything, I didn’t receive a single achievement through my Game Center on Apple. Not sure why it didn’t go through, but just keep that in mind. So I was playing the World 2 gauntlet since I just captured the Green Light and I was at the 2nd fight with the beetle and the 2 plant healers. Pearl and amethyst was knocked out and then the beetle used its special attack and Garnet flew away. Since no attackers were there but Garnet was alive it got confused and just kicked me out. Can you just make it so I don’t get kicked out? Welp I’m going to beat the next light! Diamond mode was a bit harder, but it still took me less than a day to complete. If you want to play an rpg with recognizable characters, then by all means download it. It’s really good and will keep you busy. It's great to see writers with enough creativity to make any new concept for a show these days that doesn't just involve abstract and confusing plots. The game was WAY more than I expected. I'm an old school gamer. Beat legend of Zelda at 3. Watched my dad play for hours. I played every RPG under the sun from Dragons Quest (Highly Recommended Since they ported to iOS) to modern MMORPGs. This game is so tightly made that I couldn't put it down till I beat it. There are a few useless skills toward the endgame but the options you do have far outweigh the bad. Almost 100% flawless. Highly recommended it to anyone who likes turn based RPG fighting style. Really great also for teaching my 4 year old how to get into RPG element games. He loves it and has greatly improved on his addition and subtraction skills. The game is innocent enough for even my 4 year old. No cursing and all the character have great attitudes. Amazed really that people still have creativity enough to make great games like this one without copying to much from games already out there. It has just a little of everything that makes the show so great, but with a story disconnected from the plot of the show, which makes how canon to the show this game is irrelevant. The unique battle system, beautiful areas, and amazing music make this game a must play for any Steven Universe fan. I do just want to mention one glaring flaw that makes this game a cakewalk if you know it, which due to the time I’m writing this review will most likely never be patched. If you use a white star fruit in battle then start the entire area over from the battle, all attacks will be free for the rest of the area.
