really enjoyed my tour

Tours everywhere! Very handy on the go

Help desk was awesome

I had some issues with using the app. I reached out to the helpdesk and they were fantastic. They stuck with me and we resolved the issue. It was totally on my end.

Sucks!

This app sucks. We purchased the one for Kingman, Arizona, which was six dollars just for the one city. You can’t change it from a walk tour to a driving tour. And the pins are in all of the wrong places. It makes it about impossible to follow it because they are nowhere near where they need to be.

Useful, up to a point

Helped us discover some locations in Cambridge we might not otherwise have found. The audio, however, is somewhat generic and didn't offer more than an (AI generated?) summary of the relevant Wikipedia article with some jokes thrown in (the same jokes sometimes repeated across locations.) In a couple of occasions the route attempted to take us across a river where no bridge exists or public access was not permitted. By the end we were somewhat bored by the tour and chose to find our own way around.

Content is AI generated, but still a decent tour

I used this for a tour of Santiago, Chile. The app worked well and had no technical glitches. There aren’t a lot of good tour choices for Santiago so I’d say this was the winner of the ones I tried. I was happy with the map view overlay, which made it very easy to follow the route even if I made some of my own detours. Some improvements could be made:
* the pin on the map linked to each point of interest was often not the best place to view it from. Most descriptions started with “directly in front of you, you’ll see..” but I’d be looking at the side of the building. In many cases it was better to stand farther away from a large building or tower, compared to standing at the front door.
* the content seemed AI-auto-generated, with the same not very funny metaphors used repeatedly. There were at least four times that the tour said that a particular place contained “more drama than a telenovela”, or likened the city to a teenager.
* the selection of points of interest seems a bit obscure. For instance, the plaza de Armas was not part of the tour, but five minutes was spent on the first POI talking about the general history of the educational system.

Overall I found the tour a bit bland, but informative and functional. It’s not a replacement for a live tour guide, but very few audio tours would be.

Monterey audio tour

My husband and I really enjoyed the Monterey, California audio tour. It was a bit foggy and rainy that day, which added a coastal atmosphere to the tour. I will take the tour again on a clear day to hike the parts we missed (like the path to the Presidio.) The narrator was very good.

Fantastic

I really loved this app. Fantastic for travelers looking to explore. Highly recommend.

Response from developer

Thanks for the kind words! Enjoy exploring!

Good idea but sloppy

I bought a tour for London Canada. One of the stops was for Roman London. aFAIK the Romans never came to Canada. Neither did the Saxons which was another stop.
The app would not keep the iPhone on so every time I had to reauthorize the app restarted, making me fast forward from the beginning to wherever I was in the actual tour.
The Thames river is pronounced ‘temms’ not ‘taymes’
Some of the entries for London Canada were quite interesting.

Hi, thanks so much for the fair review. You’re completely right, the mix-up happened because cities with the same name were pulling the wrong info. That fix is going live today so it won’t happen again. The timeout issue is something we hadn’t noticed before, so thanks for flagging it, we’ll look into it right away. We’re also working on improving our guide pronunciation to make everything sound more natural. Really appreciate you taking the time to share this, it genuinely helps us make AudaTours better.

AI Generated Garbage

Halfway during our tour of Cambridge MA US, we realized the audio was AI generated. Apparently, there were Romans and Vikings walking around and the Germans bombed the US in WW2… clearly the AI was confusing Cambridge UK with Cambridge US. Such a waste of time, a highly disappointing experience. I wouldn’t trust any of the content on this platform, stay away and save your time and money. Thankfully the tour didn’t cost much but still a monumental waste of time.

Response from developer

Hi, really sorry about that experience. You are right that this was a mix-up between Cambridge, MA and Cambridge, UK. A fix is going live today so cities with the same name always load the correct local content. We are also reviewing all Cambridge tours to ensure the history is accurate for the right place. If you would like a refund, email help@audatours.com with your order email and we will sort it right away. Thanks for flagging this. Your feedback helps us improve fast.

Bad app

Tribal app. Sound going off almost in any section, and need to restart the tour. Info is dull, and lack of important facts and inside stories about the sites.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for your review. I believe you already contacted us about the sound issues — as mentioned, we’ve looked into it and are currently rolling out a fix in our next update. Regarding the content, each tour is different, but our goal is always to cover the landmark’s history from its origins to its present-day role, while also weaving in interesting stories. I’m sorry to hear this particular tour didn’t meet your expectations. If you could let us know which tour you took, we’d be happy to review it and make improvements. Please get in touch: help@alltours.app

Waste of $ - unable to get “FREE” tours to load

I purchased this in hopes of learning more about Japan, as I moved here recently. The free tours didn’t work, and I thought paying for the app, would solve the problem. It did not. Waste of $40. Always giving me an error. I will attempt to get a refund from Apple.

Response from developer

Hi, I’m really sorry about this. We had a bug that was removing landmarks from tours as they loaded. The good news is we fixed it TODAY, so if you unlock a new tour now, everything should work as expected. Regarding your subscription, you’re absolutely entitled to a refund. I can’t process it directly (developers aren’t allowed to), so you’ll need to request it through the app store. As an apology for the trouble, I’d also like to give you a free month of Unlimited. Just drop me a quick email at kes@alltours.app and I’ll set you up with free access right away. Thanks for your patience, and I hope you’ll give AllTours another try now the bug’s been squashed :)

Useless, terrible and takes your money

It is trying to take my money, even though I unsubscribe, it already took more than £ 30 in one day. Never download! It will waste you time on a trip and take money

Response from developer

Hi Sholpanchik, Sorry for the frustration, that’s absolutely not the experience we want anyone to have. Our free trial and subscription are managed by the App Store / Google Play, and you can cancel any time from your store settings to stop future charges. If you were charged unexpectedly, you can request a refund through the store, and you’re very welcome to email us so we can look into your account and help resolve it.

Great app!

Very useful app! helped me to explore Edinburgh!

AI Slop Garbage, Fraudulent

This app is linked to the sale of fraudulent “events” on Eventbrite, charging people around the world for inaccurate AI-generated audio tours of non-existent places with impossible or inaccurate walking directions.

Response from developer

Hi Dave, sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the tour—but just to be clear, AllTours creates self-guided audio experiences of real places, many people have used them to explore cities around the world. Every listing on Eventbrite includes “Audio Tour” in the title so it’s clear these aren’t in-person events. If something didn’t work properly—like the route or directions—we genuinely want to know. That’s how we improve. Let us know which tour you tried and what went wrong. You can reach me directly at kes@alltours.app. We’re always open to feedback, especially the kind that helps us get better.

Great App

I’m really impressed with this app. You can choose from their tours or create your own, which I love. I tested it in my home city and not only did it work great… it actually made exploring feel fresh and interesting. I’m traveling a lot this summer and can’t wait to use it abroad!

SUPERB!!

Five stars! AllTours is an absolute game-changer for travel. The offline access is a lifesaver, the audio tours are engaging and informative, and the interactive map is incredibly helpful. Highly recommend!
