## What is audiflow?

audiflow is a fast, offline-first podcast player built around one big idea: podcasts deserve better organization than one endless feed.

COMMUNITY-CURATED SMART PLAYLISTS — OUR HEADLINE FEATURE
- Long-running shows become easy to navigate: episodes are grouped into meaningful playlists by season, year, or series within a show
- Each show's playlists are hand-curated, not just auto-generated — so the grouping actually matches how the show is made
- All playlist definitions live in a public GitHub repository. Found a show that deserves better playlists? Open a pull request — once merged, every listener gets it automatically, no app update needed

LISTEN YOUR WAY
- Background playback with lock-screen and system controls
- A seek bar that shows chapters and remaining time, with fine scrubbing as you slide away from the bar, and a "Go back" button after a jump
- Playback speed up to 3.0x, with a speed for each podcast
- Pick where audio plays: speaker, Bluetooth, or AirPlay
- Configurable skip intervals
- Choose how interruptions behave: duck the volume, or pause and rewind
- Sleep timer with fade-out: by duration, episode count, end of episode, or end of chapter

ORGANIZE EFFORTLESSLY
- Queue: line up what's next, drag to reorder, or queue an episode together with every episode that follows it
- Stations: your own playlists that mix episodes from multiple podcasts, with duration filters and sorting
- Find podcasts in your library by title or author; a dot marks shows with new episodes
- Per-podcast and per-playlist play order that remembers your preference

ALWAYS READY
- Download episodes for offline listening, with a Wi-Fi-only option
- Auto-download keeps only each show's newest unplayed episodes and tidies up the ones you've finished, so storage never fills up
- Background feed refresh and new-episode notifications with artwork and a description preview
- Your position is saved everywhere — resume exactly where you left off

GO DEEPER
- Transcripts and chapters, right in the player — including Podcasting 2.0 chapters and timestamps in show notes
- OPML import/export to bring your subscriptions with you
- Restricted Mode with PIN lock for family-friendly listening

No ads inserted, no account required. Just RSS, your shows — and playlists made by people who love them.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.2 — 2026-10-31

• Add a podcast from its feed link: paste an RSS feed URL, or an Apple Podcasts, Overcast or Castro share link, into the search field and open it. An empty search screen also has an "Add by RSS feed URL" button
• Pasting into the search field works again
• Continue listening cards show the podcast's artwork when an episode has no image of its own
• Stations: fixed a podcast that was unsubscribed and subscribed to again staying stuck on old episodes. It is removed from the station; add it back to see its new episodes
• Stations: scrolling up through a long station is smooth again
• After restarting the app, the mini player shows how far you got in the episode instead of an empty progress line
• After restarting the app, the transcript opens at where you stopped listening instead of the beginning

### 2.2.1 — 2026-10-21

• iPad: podcast and episode pages place the artwork beside the title and details, making better use of the wider screen
• iPad: season pages show larger artwork, and an episode's playback record keeps to a readable width, in two columns when there is room
• The episode play button no longer stretches across wide screens, and sits centered under the title when there is room. On iPad the season page's play button is centered at the same width
• Menus can be used in one motion: press a menu button, slide to an item, and release to choose it. A tap still opens the menu as before
• The playback record on an episode's page now updates while you listen
• Tap anywhere on a shortened episode description to show all of it
• The chapter list highlights the chapter that is playing, opens scrolled to it, and has a close button
• The player's top bar is simpler: just the close and menu buttons, since the podcast name already appears under the episode title
• Progress lines on finished episodes and seasons are now gray, so lists with many played episodes look calmer
• Episodes within a season now play oldest first by default
• A podcast whose feed the publisher moved or removed now says so, instead of asking you to try again later
• Fixed the clock and battery icons turning white and hard to read after closing the player
• Fixed podcast names and authors showing codes like "&" instead of "&"
• Background refresh and downloads now fail less often

### 2.2.0 — 2026-10-11

• All-new design. The player takes its colors from the episode artwork, and the Library, Queue, Search, episode, and Settings screens are redesigned
• Haptic feedback for switches, filter and sort choices, swipes, the seek bar, and more. Choose On, Reduced, or Off in Appearance settings
• Library: filter your podcasts by title or author, see a dot on podcasts with new episodes, and see your four most recently played stations first, with "Show all" for the rest
• Stations show their podcasts' artwork as stacked cards, and station edits are saved as you make them
• Podcasts: filter episodes by Played or Downloaded, "Mark all played" or "Mark all unplayed" from the menu, and "Open website" for the show's site
• Podcast settings (play order, auto-download, and more) are now gathered in one sheet
• "Play next from here" and "Add to queue from here" in an episode's menu queue it together with every episode that follows it in the play order
• Auto-downloads no longer pile up: each podcast keeps only its newest unplayed episodes (3 by default). Change the number in Download settings, or for one podcast in its settings
• Auto-download pauses for a podcast you haven't played in a while (after 5 of its episodes are auto-downloaded without you playing any) and resumes when you play one of its episodes, or when you tap Resume in the podcast's settings
• Auto-downloaded episodes are removed the next time you open the app once 24 hours have passed since you finished them, so you can still replay one or undo an accidental "Mark as played". This is on by default and never removes episodes you downloaded yourself. Use "Keep download" to keep an auto-downloaded episode
• Pending and paused downloads can now be deleted, and the download manager can delete downloads by status (completed, pending and paused, failed and cancelled, or all) after confirming how many will be removed
• When a podcast removes episodes from its feed, their downloads are now removed too
• Replaying an episode you've finished keeps it marked as played
• Unsubscribing and subscribing again keeps the podcast's played marks and listening positions
• The Transcript page appears only once a transcript has loaded
• Fixed a paused download starting over from 0% when resumed
• Fixed Back from Continue listening opening the podcast page instead of returning to the Library
• Fixed new episodes sometimes not being auto-downloaded after refreshing a podcast's page
• Fixed playing an episode from its page also queuing unrelated episodes of the podcast. It now plays that episode alone and clears the queue
• Fixed newly fetched episodes missing their download and queue buttons until the page was reopened

### 2.1.0 — 2026-10-06

• Redesigned seek bar: chapter segments, remaining time, and finer scrubbing as you slide your finger away from the bar
• Chapters for more podcasts, including Podcasting 2.0 chapters and timestamps in show notes, plus a chapter list on the player
• A "Go back" button after a seek jump
• New Audio sheet: speed slider up to 3.0x, recent speeds, and a speed for each podcast
• Audio output picker for the speaker, Bluetooth, and AirPlay
• Sleep timer: redesigned sheet and a countdown on the seek bar. End of chapter now stops right at the chapter boundary without a fade, and end-of-episode and end-of-chapter timers end when you move to another episode or chapter
• After a sleep timer stops at the end of an episode, Play continues with the next episode in your queue
• Podcast artwork now shows in new-episode notifications
• The transcript keeps the current line in view
• Fixed playback sometimes not starting after tapping Play

### 2.0.1 — 2026-10-05

• Richer new-episode notifications: episode title, artwork, release date, length, and a description preview
• Notifications follow your in-app language
• The notification toggle reflects your device permission
• Background downloads run sooner and more reliably
• Interrupted downloads resume, and brief network drops are less likely to fail them
• Artwork follows show updates and loads more smoothly
• Fixed the language setting not applying
• Fixed an error when marking an episode as played
• Fixed episodes of a new series landing in "Ungrouped"
