Audio Exam Player gives students a superior way of independently hearing test questions read aloud with human speech or with mechanical speech. Students who had refused read aloud testing accommodations because of the unwanted attention are eagerly taking their exams using this app. Now, without leaving their desks they are downloading their exams, putting earbuds in, and completing exams at the same time as their classmates. Students are improving test performance because they are focusing on test questions and their answers to those questions instead of having to focus their attention on sounding out words. One of the components of learning a new language is listening. In the past, I would read a test allowed for each student while he or she followed on their answer sheets. Of course, this meant reading the test many times often repeating questions, if asked. Now, using the audio exam creator, I record the test just once. Then, students download the exam to the audio exam player on their own devices, listen to the recording, move onto the next question,and repeat if necessary. They can speed up, slow down, or repeat the question as many times as needed. They hear the test read in a voice that is for familiar. This app saves me time while giving students a sense of independence, accomplishment, and control for having taken the test by themselves. ### 5/5 — Great aid for students *2014-10-17* This app works as it promises. In less than 10 minutes, I had a 50 question test recorded. Importing the test questions is a great bonus…certainly beats retyping the entire test in the app!
