I don’t normally leave reviews but I just wanted to take some time to say thank you for all of your development work on this app. I use this multiple times per day and I’m very appreciative. The latest CarPlay features are also fantastic! Lastly, thank you also for changing it back to “Email Me”. That threw me for a loop when it briefly changed lol

Today I found a random £12.99 charge for ‘AI voice notes’ that I’ve never used or knowingly signed up for.  Only clue it was to do with this app was the icon.  I want my subscription back.

### 7.7.0 — 2026-08-12

- iOS: The app now follows your device's light or dark appearance by default. You can still turn off Use Device Settings and choose a fixed theme.
- iOS: Audio notes are now transcribed in the language you picked under Transcript Language. Your choice only applied to recordings transcribed on the device before, so anything transcribed online came back in whatever language it was guessed to be.
- Watch: Notes recorded on the Watch follow your Transcript Language too. The setting travels over from your iPhone on its own — when you pick a language, and when you open the app — so a language you chose long ago reaches your Watch without you doing anything.
- iOS: Removed the Ask Before Sending switch from Actions Configuration. It never asked anything — it moved the send menu onto the tap — and that menu is still one press-and-hold away on the send button.
- iOS: Fixed the notes database occasionally failing to open after an update, which could leave part of the app — the widget, or sending from Shortcuts — seeing no notes until the next launch.

- iOS: Notes now say when they went out in plain language — “Sent to Manuel 2 minutes ago” — including notes you sent before this update. Tap that line on a note for the exact date and time, and tap again to go back.
- iOS: Photos attached in the composer now open in the full-screen viewer, with its zoom animation and swiping between them.
- iOS 26: Every sheet now carries the same clear glass navigation bar, including Your Stats, Share Your Stats, the tag picker and the share link screen.
- iOS: The app follows a light/dark switch straight away — navigation bars, search, note rows, open keyboards and section footers no longer keep the previous look until you leave and come back.
- iOS: Photo and document previews zoom in and out of their thumbnail cleanly, instead of landing square or sliding away.
- iOS: Note details now show when a note was created beneath the card, as “Created today at 9:12”. Thanks Ingo for the suggestion.
- iOS: Fixed the Simplified Chinese delivery line, which had the recipient and the date swapped around.
- iOS: Fixed a crash in Settings when editing recipients again right after a reorder.

- Shared note links now include your attachments. Photos show up in a gallery on the shared page — tap one to view it full screen and swipe through the rest — and any other files can be downloaded right from the page.
- iOS: Save attachments out of your notes! Long-press a photo on a note to save it to your Photos library or Files, and long-press a recording or document to save it to Files — or share any of them right from the same menu.
- iOS: The full-screen photo viewer now supports pinch and double-tap to zoom, and long-pressing a photo on a note pops up an enlarged preview.
- iOS: You can now create tags right from the tag picker, which also got a proper empty state.
- iOS: A note's status now updates live while you're looking at it when a send finishes, and the send button on a note offers the full Send To menu.
- iOS: The composer toolbar now restyles immediately when you change themes, and the send button keeps its size and shows a spinner while sending.
- iOS: Fixed recordings that could get stuck in the composer, and takes orphaned by a crash are now recovered on the next launch.
- iOS: Every Settings feature screen now links to its how-to guide, and reduced the app's memory footprint across the board.
- iOS: Fixed a crash when selecting recipients in the Widget settings.
- iOS: Fixed large PDF and document attachments failing to send through custom SMTP servers even when the server allows them. Thanks Ingo for the heads up.
- CarPlay: Fixed crashes when several alerts tried to appear at once.

- Timestamps in transcripts! Every line of a voice note's transcript now shows the moment it was spoken: tap a line to jump straight to that part of the audio, and while it plays the current line highlights and follows along. Works the same on shared note links on the web.
- Intelligent Playback: the player now skips the silent parts of your recordings so you get to the point faster. It's on by default and you can turn it off in Advanced Settings → Recordings. The web player on shared links gets its own "Skip silences" toggle and shows how much time it saves you.
- Unified current branding around Audio Notes by Email Me while keeping the installed app name short as Audio Notes.
- Shared note links now show the app icon and note title on the Lock Screen player when you play a recording from the web.
- Fixed the welcome tour appearing again on every launch after it had already been completed.
- iOS Shortcuts: Fixed Email Note To Recipient asking you to confirm the only configured recipient, and sometimes reporting an error even though the email was sent successfully.
