### 2/5 — I was hoping It'd work

*2018-11-08*

But it doesn't work, I woke up at 2 am with books and podcasts playing anyway

### 3/5 — Really like it

*2018-02-01*

Easy to use app. Love the fact that it's only$.99. Although my credit card hasn't been charged yet but hey im able to listen to my books with arguing with an app.

### 4/5 — SUGGESTION

*2017-01-18*

It would be great that when you hit play, after pausing, that the audiobook has been rewound a couple of seconds. That way it's not paused in the middle of a word and you don't have to rewind it automatically. I've seen that feature on some other audio apps, so please add that. Thank you. Like the app a lot and use it a lot.

### 4/5 — Muli audiobook player

*2016-07-07*

Only problem I have is the app unable to remember the last place it was.
Otherwise it's a great player.

### 2/5 — No playlists

*2016-06-12*

Contrary to the app description, this app does not appear to support playlists, and (like many similar apps) requires audio filed to be 'added' into the app before they can be played. At present, the only app I know of that does support playlists, and doesn't require 'adding', is 'Audiobook Browser', but the latter app unfortunately has some limitations, like only playing a single file at a time (therefore requiring interaction with the app via the screen to move onto the next item in the playlist).

### 2/5 — works great, except when it doesn't

*2015-04-10*

I would give it 5 stars, but it only works for a couple days and then stops working (just goes to a black screen and eventually back to the home screen). I may be my old-ish hardware, but it is the only app I have that does this.

### 4/5 — App is on the right way!!

*2015-01-27*

The App is pretty close to what I was looking for for a long time! So far best what I've found.

What I value:
1. Function of increasing & decreasing playing speed.
2. Skipping back and forth (note I mentioned back at first) and the adjustment/customisation of skipping back function
3. Zoom loop to set the track to desired place and the display which shows the track seconds movement

What I would love to see in further updates:
1. When a track is playing and I reopen the app (means app is running in background, track is playing) the app pauses the track. Thats what I most dislike.
 2. In settings, title of functions are not very clear chosen, I don't get the feeling I know that to expect when I turn on/off a function.
3. In look screen, I'm really missing the track time line (like it does when track is running through iPhone native music player); and a picture of the track (which as well appears in the middle of the screen on iPhone native music player).

I hope that helps for further improvements.

### 4/5 — Good

*2015-01-19*

Initial impressions are very good. It really could do with a bookmark feature mind.

### 4/5 — Very Good - well worth the money

*2014-08-24*

This is a much better player than the default iPhone player. I like that I can skip forward or backward by a certain number of seconds or minutes. I also like that I can adjust how large those skips are.
Unfortunately, it seems to forget where I am in the book if I go back to the library to listen to something else then return.
A great additional feature would be to be able to save a list if bookmarks for each book, not just current position. That way I can return to favourite bits when I want to.

### 2/5 — bookmarking doesnt work

*2014-08-09*

annoyed that i paid for this. My frustration was with the stock media player that always reset or didnt remember where i was with audfiobooks when i switched to music so i bought this app since it is supposed to remember where you were. It doesnt and sometimes resets itself to random spots in the story. So basically i spent money for an app that doesnt actually do what it is supposed to. I do wonder if this is something to do with bluetooth effects though

### 3/5 — User interface needs work

*2014-06-28*

I had to look hard to find a audiobook player that would work in the car - ie a large play/pause button.
Things to fix:
- move the skip buttons away from the play/pause. If you touch them accidentally, your skip hours of your book.
- turn off the screen when not in use
- get rid of the skip buttons on the lock screen while listening. You touch those and there goes another few hours of the book.

### 4/5 — Incredible advanced features

*2014-04-06*

Awesome app. Very detailed and full of features found nowhere else. Even a dead man's switch to make it pause when you fall asleep. How clever!
Wish: load all parts of a book at one rather than individually.

### 4/5 — Better than it seems a first sight

*2013-12-09*

This audiobook app has some useful features - it does look clunky - and works by throwing a translucent menu over the cover art. This happens by clicking a padlock - odd choice but it is German. Press the play button in a chapter and you can fast forward or back, or skip in say 60 second jumps. If you are using iPhone default music player there is no way to skip through a chapter and find your last reading spot. The app also remembers where you are in each book - so if you swap books - you can come back to the place you stopped listening. There's a sleep mode that's clever - touch the screen and when you fall asleep and take your finger off play stops in 15 secs. Another sleep mode plays a silent spot just shake the iPhone to restart - if no shake the player turns off. It is ugly but it works - bit like a Trabant car I suppose. If it looked better and the options buttons didn't crowd the text I would go to a 5 star. Worth a $ just to know your place is saved in a 30 hour novel.

### 2/5 — Playback buttons disappear and skip settings are not saved

*2013-10-25*

Wise idea to provide an independent player. Unfortunately, touching the screen anywhere but on the playback buttons causes the entire control block to disappear. Only way to get it back is to flip back to the book selection screen and re-select the active entry.
Also, the skip setting is lost whenever the app is closed.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Complete rubbish

*2015-07-14*

Does not recognise ANY of the audiobooks on my device - m4a or mp3. I try to add a book and a search window comes up - type in a title - nothing. What a strange way to earn 99c or whatever it cost me.

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2014-01-11*

Doesn't work. Doesn't read mp3s off my library and quits shortly after launch.

### 1/5 — Does not keep track of where I stopped listening

*2013-10-02*

Had two books on my iPhone. Started listening to the first one; paused it; switched to the second book, listened to the second book and came back to the first. The first book started from the very beginning. Repeated several times; same result. Clearly, this app is a waste.

### 1/5 — Very disappointing

*2013-09-19*

I was looking for an app that recognises m4b chapters so you can see the list and jump between them, not necessarily sequentially - just like the native app in iOS6. (For some reason Apple have removed this functionality in iOS7.) Although this app supposedly recognises chapters, when I select the list, (top right), the chapter list isn't recognised. All in all, a total waste of money.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2013-06-18*

If you audio book in divided into separate files (like most are) you'll have to add each individual file to the app. Some longer audio books may have literally hundreds of files. A wasted 99 cents.

### 1/5 — UGLY

*2013-02-17*

The UI looks like it was drawn on paint. I went back to the iOS audiobook player after 5 seconds.

### 1/5 — Not great

*2013-02-10*

The sleep mode doesn't seem to work. As this was main thing I wanted this app for it was a waste of money.

As previous reviews state, it also doesn't copy over the chapters properly. This makes it hard to find your place in the story.

### 1/5 — offer nothing

*2012-10-13*

You can just open your audiobooks you already have on your device. Nothing more, nothing less.

### 1/5 — Good idea-Needs some work

*2012-08-07*

Great idea. I always have two books I'm listening to at a time plus podcasts. My problem is that it doesn't actually bookmark each book and will start over from the beginning every time. Could have gotten that for free with the standard iPhone player!

### 1/5 — Not worth the time or money

*2012-06-11*

Don't waste your money. Says it plays audio files but isn't working for me. When I choose a podcast or overdrive audiobook playlist, the app crashes. Not sure about any other features since the app will NOT play my audiobooks.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2016-08-18*

First class audiobook player. Excellent bookmarking and very useful 30 and 60 sec rewind and fast forward. Plus many other features. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — A, much appreciated, replacement for what iBooks player should be if Steve weren't dead.

*2016-07-30*

Great interface. Easy to use and reliable replacement for playing iTunes Store Audiobooks - advanced features with simple big-button controls! I don't fall asleep without it. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Nice!

*2015-03-03*

Great free app with a couple of things that could be improved on but for the most part it's awesome. Any non Audible or iTunes audiobooks can be played and the app remembers where you left off if you jump between audiobooks..

### 5/5 — Great player

*2014-12-25*

After trying probably 10 other apps that claimed to do it, this is the only player I have found that goes over 2x playback speed without skipping. Fantastic, thanks!

### 5/5 — Solves iOS’ huge fail of not recognizing chapters

*2014-09-30*

#1 problem solved, 5 stars just for that.

Requests:
Beautified UI

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2014-05-26*

The adjustable reading speed for audiobooks works great for studying, especially when you need to slow something down to take notes

### 5/5 — David

*2013-10-31*

Great App! Really enjoy listening to books. One question, the apps image has evaporated on my iTouch 3 and iTouch 4. Now there is a blank white square. Is this fixable? Still works great.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2013-10-14*

It's real neato

### 5/5 — The best audiobook player

*2013-04-10*

Multi Audiobook Player is the best audiobook player I have used and it integrates closely with the Apple Music app on the iOS device you are using . Its clear user interface gives one very good controls for navigating through an audiobook. The app gives a Chapter list and various skip and seek controls to make navigation of the book easy. It also has a very useful 'progress bar' which shows the current location in a section with the time played and time remaining for each section and for the whole audiobook.

It should be noted that Multi Audiobook Player is designed to integrate with Apple's Music playe app and it only plays the audiobooks that have been synced to the Music app using iTunes (or downloaded from the iTunes Store). You cannot download audiobooks directly into Multi Audiobook Player, that is not its purpose.

If this app had direct, in-app, access to the different playback speeds and to AirPlay (both of which have to be controlled using the Music app) it would be almost perfect.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2012-12-29*

If you follow the instructions and convert your audio books into iTunes audio book format (google it if you need help) it works great. I'm very pleased with the app. It's not perfect but it works as advertised.
