### 3/5 — Terrible app, great content

*2026-07-07, version 4.5.0*

Great content, but the app is ridiculously buggy and makes it difficult to access that content. Frequent crashes, slow loading, failure of basic functions like scrolling. Considering how much the content subscriptions cost, I am disappointed that they haven’t invested in even basic reliability for their app interface.

-Addendum: Latest update fixed the scrolling problem finally and it seems to crash less. Still one of the clunkier audio programs I’ve encountered but I’ll upgrade my assessment to “adequate”

### 2/5 — Terrible app, great content

*2026-07-02, version 4.5.0*

Great content, but the app is ridiculously buggy and makes it difficult to access that content. Frequent crashes, slow loading, failure of basic functions like scrolling. Considering how much the content subscriptions cost, I am disappointed that they haven’t invested in even basic reliability for their app interface.

-Addendum: I am told they have fixed at least some the bugs in the app, but I already decided to get my CME elsewhere so can’t comment on the efficacy

### 2/5 — Recent update

*2026-04-11, version 4.2.1*

The recent update has created numerous problems that make the utility of this application very difficult and frustrating. This is a costly subscription that, presently, is not worth the money.

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2026-04-05, version 4.2.1*

This is a good way to get CME’s at home. The problem is that the app is extremely glitchy. It seems as if they fix one problem and then they create another. There were times when it logged me out every time I closed the phone. Now it gives me problems scrolling through the pre-and post tests. It is extremely slow to load up. They blame Wi-Fi, but I don’t have this with any other app.

### 2/5 — Program is good, app is garbage

*2026-04-01, version 4.2.1*

The app has always been somewhat laggy and temperamental, but recent updates have made it near unusable. As other reviewers have said, the individual scrolling questions make navigation difficult. And not infrequently, the user can't even scroll to the bottom to submit answers. For the cost of the service, AD needs to field a functioning app. If your developer can't do it, give it to Claude Code-- it would produce something better than this.

### 3/5 — App is clunky

*2026-03-24, version 4.2.1*

Previous versions of the app were much more seamless. This conversion of the app has significantly slowed down. Now whenever I open a lecture, there’s a period of time where it is infinitely thinking, resulting in me having to exit out of the app and then open the lecture again. This is happening on two different phones. The pretest and post test questions now required individually school in each question and often times it is difficult to complete the test because the screen is not letting you scroll through the test, but simply amongst the choices of one question. The app often freezes as well.

### 2/5 — Terrible app, great content

*2026-03-16, version 4.2.0*

Great content, but the app is ridiculously buggy and makes it difficult to access that content. Frequent crashes, slow loading, failure of basic functions like scrolling. Considering how much the content subscriptions cost, I am disappointed that they haven’t invested in even basic reliability for their app interface.

### 2/5 — Physician

*2026-03-14, version 4.2.0*

This was previously a great CME platform with excellent content. Now all the bugs (see reviews by other users) make the app nearly unusable and the content virtually inaccessible. Until this is corrected, I can no longer recommend this otherwise excellent CME platform.

### 2/5 — Very frustrating APP

*2026-03-11, version 4.2.0*

Great content, but takes forever to get going, and God forbid you have to stop it for any reason!

### 4/5 — Clunky app

*2026-03-06, version 4.2.0*

The lectures from the company are solid, but the app is inexplicably unresponsive. It can take several minutes for even a downloaded lecture to start playing. Can be difficult to scroll through the test portion on the app - sometimes the answers scroll, sometimes the answers, for no obvious reason

### 3/5 — Excellent content, frustrating interface

*2026-02-07*

I do appreciate the access to audio recordings and CME credits, and find the talks very educational.

I am however frustrated by the app interface. Frequent crashes, difficulty sorting, and sluggish performance mar an otherwise excellent product. And what is more frustrating is that this dysfunction has been present with the app for many years.

I would strongly encourage Audio Digest to work with a developer to enhance function and stability of their app. I would also like to see better filter/sort by subspecialty and topic, and what would be outstanding is actual slides from the presentations that the speakers reference.

### 2/5 — Consistently Terrible

*2026-01-11, version 4.1.0*

After years of this app being wonky and undeniably frustrating to use, one can only assume that they are banking on docs use of CME $$ coming with low expectations. All it needs is basic functionality that one would expect to exist in an app 10 years ago, but for some reason it is just consistently bad. Honestly, even their website isn’t much better….

### 3/5 — Clunky UI

*2025-12-06, version 4.0.6*

Absolutely loving the lectures. Unfortunately, the UI is horrible and makes looking up or reviewing available lectures challenging. Consider reviewing Osmosis UI for ways to improve the user experience.

### 3/5 — So frustrating

*2025-10-18, version 4.0.6*

I search for a topic, scroll to choose the ones I was to add to my library and then it suddenly refreshes, sending me back to the top of the list. Over and over and over. Wastes time I don’t have…
Additionally, I made a playlist, but then cannot select that playlist to add anything to. I would think by 2025 AD would have this thing perfected and user friendly. I am sorely disappointed.

### 1/5 — App never works

*2024-07-01, version 3.2.0*

I had high hopes for audio digest. This was my first time purchasing and I have already decided I will not be purchasing again. The app is awful. Every time I want to use it, I have to delete it and redownload it for it to even load any content. Multiple times a day. Ive also tried to take multiple post tests on the app and it glitches. I’ve still yet to receive any of the CME credits. Pretty useless for the $2400 it cost.

### 3/5 — Fix the speed glitch

*2023-02-10, version 3.1.5*

I listen to everything at 1.5 speed, if I pause the app to talk to Siri or answer a call or something it automatically goes back to 1.0 speed but it’s still says it’s on 1.5 so I have to change it every time which is super annoying. Seems like something fixable

### 1/5 — Issues with app

*2022-11-03, version 3.1.5*

Since I purchased, I had to at least send three emails and make two phone calls. Here are the issues… I purchased Gastroenterology, but my account showed anesthesiology. I purchased platinum, but my account showed gold membership. Finally, now I just finished the lecture, completed the pretest and posttest, and I’m not seeing the CME credit in my account. Now I have to send another email for this. I will not buy Audiodigest next year, for sure.

### 1/5 — New App

*2022-10-03, version 3.1.5*

JMO but am extremely disappointed. My AudioDigest app was working perfectly up until April. Now I have my discs that come to my house and am forced to listen to them on my disc player in the car. Also, if this is going to be how it is like 10 years ago I wish they would send me a computer sheet to fill in the answers so I can fax it to them and get credit.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — SLOW

*2026-05-21, version 4.3.0*

It has been running really slow. I can't play any of the seminars from my phone. I had to pull them up on my computer, which is really annoying cause I like to listen to them when I commute to work.

### 1/5 — Good content but app is a failure.

*2026-05-14, version 4.2.1*

Good content that I enjoy and find convenient. However, the recent app is essentially unusable. Given the cost for the subscription this is not acceptable. The only way to use the content now is on your desktop.

### 1/5 — Slow and times out

*2026-04-22, version 4.2.1*

This app is one of the worst medical apps ever. I’ve communicated with the team by email, but they haven’t found a fix. It is also very cumbersome to search for audio lectures on this app. We should be allowed to play right from the link rather than having to save it in a playlist. Also, when you’re listening on Apple CarPlay, there is no option to increase the speed. It times out on multiple occasions I have spent approximately 2000+ dollars for the subscription and want a refund.

### 1/5 — Frustrating app-scrolling issues

*2026-03-22, version 4.2.1*

Recently started using app again. There is a significant glitch with scrolling feature. Unable to complete pretest in some cases. Needs fixed ASAP.

### 1/5 — Terribly glitchy

*2026-02-10, version 4.1.0*

I wish it worked. Really disappointing.

### 1/5 — No longer working in CarPlay

*2025-09-17, version 4.0.5*

The app no longer works in CarPlay. I only get a blank white screen. No difference with uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Started before upgrading phone to iOS 26 and no improvement after upgrading. Please fix it! Using the app on the phone alone still works.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-08-16, version 4.0.5*

Wrote extensive negative review and then it suddenly disappeared. Audiodigest used to be excellent. Not any longer. Loved the written and audio docs sent out. Could read and study at leisure. This online stuff is slow to load, the page freezes, and don’t even think about it on an iPhone. The app makes no sense. Too tight to even have a clue. Hate it. Useless and I made the mistake of a platinum membership.

### 1/5 — Unstable

*2025-03-25, version 4.0.2*

Current app version crashes immediately upon opening. Have uninstalled and reinstalled and still a problem. I guess they’re will be no CEUs this week.

### 1/5 — Very poor app

*2024-11-30, version 3.2.0*

The is is very primitive and only works about 10 percent of the time. For the last 1 month it has not worked at all.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on my phone

*2024-08-13, version 3.2.0*

Every time I open it on my phone it shows that there are no courses available, and there are no courses that I have done. I have to totally sign out and erase the app on my phone and sign back in in order to get it to work each time. This does not happen on my computer, but I only listen to my Audio Digest tapes when I drive to and from my satellite office 45 minutes each way once a week. I pull over or it is a dangerous maneuver. I don’t know why this cannot be fixed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Audio Digest Review

*2021-11-14, version 2.2.5*

Audio Digest is convenient and gives the most up to date information on Orthopaedic Specialty topics. It is great to be able to look at other topics if I am interested. A good way to get CME credits, review current topics and easily submit my transcript to the NCCPA.

### 5/5 — Thanks Audio Digest

*2021-11-02, version 2.2.5*

Great lectures. I listen almost every day. Very enjoyable.

### 5/5 — Excellent product

*2021-10-25, version 2.2.5*

I have used Audio Digest for keeping up with Cardiology via the ACCEL series for many years. The product has always had great content, and the delivery has evolved over the years. There have recently been some nice improvements. I mainly listen on an iPad, but have also used an iPhone or computer.

### 5/5 — Great information

*2021-03-08, version 2.2.3*

Up to dat information that is useful to practicing.

### 5/5 — Much improved! (finally!)

*2020-05-04, version 2.2.0*

I am now a happy customer! The interface and reliability have considerably improved. I can now find my latest lectures, do the pre-test from either my iPhone or iPad, and either listen streaming or download to listen when I’m offline. If I stop, I can now resume where. I was before.
     The post-test works well, too.
About the only gripe I have is that, while I can choose to download a lecture, as far as I can tell, it is not available as a separate audio file. I used to occasionally share as lecture, even though copyrighted, with students or office colleagues as a “fair use.” That’s no longer possible, but I can understand why the company might not want to make that possible.

——

Latest revision: one can work around the bugs in the interface and design, but this company has not put up new lectures in about two months. I have subscribed to Audio-Digest for over 35 years, and it's time for me to cancel my membership.
Their tech staff has moved me back to their old interface and old app so I can listen to lectures, but that app is defective, for example losing its place in lectures after they're paused.
--------

The revision--if you look below, you'll see my earlier version of this review.

Tech support at ADF suggested I hit the "cloud" icon to download lecture. That icon is not available from the "Dashboard>My Library" screen, but it is available from the "My Library" screen. Take off one star for confusing user interface here!

But I did download a lecture, and, voila!, find it plays without hiccups, if stopped it resumes where it should, and provides a much less frustrating experience.

A bonus for those who can comprehend more rapid lectures: there's an option for it to play at 1.0x speed, 1.25, or 1.5, with the tone maintained so it doesn't sound like a chipmunk.

I'm really, really hopeful that ADF finally is getting their app act together!
Prior review (below) refers to my using it before getting the advice to download using the cloud icon:
***********

When this app became available to replace the prior app, I had hopes that I would finally have a reliable way to listen to Audio-Digest programs. I didn't realize that they would go from bad to worse.

There is simply no way to listen to lectures without constantly having to mess with this app. Start a lecture, and whether you're on WiFi or cellular, you get to watch the circle go around and around. Then you quit the app, restart, and if you're lucky, the lecture will start playing 20 minutes into the lecture. You quit it again, restart, play and then, every 8 minutes or so, it stops, often losing its place and jumping back to the start so that you don't know where to resume.
For a company that has such good material, and so many subscribers, you'd think they'd be able to hire someone who knew how to write software. Apparently that's not the case.
This foundation has provided the bulk of my CME and I'm going to hate to discontinue my subscription, but downloading and playing Mp3s is a hassle, and they've completely lost my confidence with this garbage app.

### 5/5 — Great

*2019-12-03, version 2.1.6*

Wonderful resource.

### 5/5 — App beats internet

*2019-11-15, version 2.1.6*

Using the App is much better than trying to access the lectures using the internet with a smart phone. Using the internet browser does work, but using the app is simpler and works very well.

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2019-05-05*

I’m really finding this to be much more user friendly than the old app. I really like how easy it is to track and and submit your CME on this. Currently I have the Internal Medicine Gold Subscription, but once I get my next bolus of CME money I plan on upgrading to the Platinum so I can listen to the IM Board Review content, and other subspecialties. It’s user friendly enough that I’m blowing through the content pretty quickly (listen to it when I’m walking / gardening / doing chores). Also like the written summaries, as if you’re listening while multitasking or if you’re a visual learner it helps to reinforce the lectures.

### 4/5 — App issues

*2026-04-11, version 4.2.1*

The lectures are usually well done in most cases for pediatric topics. I have listened to a few lectures this year with poor audio quality, but that is typically not an issue. The app however has been problematic overall. The tracking system for showing you your completed lectures has been inaccurate. There are scrolling issues making it impossible at times to complete the pre/post tests. The app has been freezing and more frequently just shutting itself down. I hope there are app fixes coming soon or I will likely not be renewing, which is too bad because it’s a great way to complete cme on your drive to work.

### 4/5 — Recent update issues

*2026-03-15, version 4.2.0*

With the most recent March 2026 app update there are now issues with scrolling through the pre and post-test questions. It seems that now each question has its own scroll bar, and you get hung up on each question. Definitely causing issues with being able to complete tests and get credits
