MIDI mapping is useful for fx changes and transport buttons work well for stopping, starting, recording etc. My only real complaint is the midi mapping causes crashes. For example I have two loops running and sliders of a midi controller mapped to the tremolo effect and the comb filter. If I try and change two parameters or more at the same time it often (not every time) causes a crash. If this was fixed it would be a fantastic tool. I use a work around where I use external effects after the looper in the chain. ### 3/5 — COULD be awesome. *2022-06-04, version 1.42* Just to be clear, I am only talking about the free version here. But this is an odd one. There’s so many things that other music apps get wrong (like pre and post FX) that this one totally nails. But at the same time there are some really basic features that could make this a seriously usable app. Just adding the ability to crop your samples, or change a start point, mute a small section, or at very least add fade ins/outs, would make all the difference. Any one of those things could take this from being a toy that’s amusing for two minutes, to being something I might actually be able to use in my studio. It’s like they’ve got the hard stuff right (smooth pitch-shifting for instance), but they just seem to have skipped on the absolute basics. Also (and I might very easily have got this wrong), but the countdown you get before a recording starts seems to match the length of time that you want to record. This is a nightmare! I can’t imagine that anyone wants a countdown of less than two seconds, or more than 8 seconds, for anything musical at all. You need long enough to move from pressing record to what you actually want to record, but not so long that you forget your timing or where you are. After recording endless loops of just my fingers clicking between apps I simply gave up. ### 2/5 — Problem with audio interface *2022-04-30, version 1.42* I can’t tell if there’s a problem with compatibility, but Samson g track microphone doesn’t work well, it left an awful digital noise. The same mic works perfectly well in other iOS apps… ### 4/5 — Good but a few bugs… *2022-04-18, version 1.42* This app is easy to use and very fun but the only things I thought were strange, are 1. Sometimes it doesn’t record, it just turns green like nothing has been recorded when you press a 2 4 or 8 or 1. 2. If you spotlight a recording and then delete it, the whole thing mutes. No possibility to record freely and close the loop out of time, whenever you like. No so called “first loop capacity”. Too bad! ### 1/5 — Crashes on iPad 6th gen and iPhone X *2024-03-25, version 1.42* I just downloaded it, I want this app to work so bad, it’s awesome until it crashes. I use VoiceJam Studio and Loopy HD during live performances and they work great, I just wanted to try something new, please fix this so I can show your app off on stage too! As soon as the crashes stop I can give it 4 stars. It’ll get 5 when I can record the session, and not just save the loops. Voice jam studio and loopy hd let you do that. A random number appears when you start recording, sits there for a second, then starts counting down from another random number. Uh, okay. Second: From the tutorial, “Your recording is now timed perfectly to the metronome.” HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA no. Not even a tiny bit close. Adjusting the single latency setting does nothing. Third: Try the effects. Use the trigger feature. It won’t turn off. Can’t adjust the effects after they’re set. Three strikes, you’re out. The midi binding is very limited as well, even typical looper operation is not possible, such as using a single button control record and stop. Läuft auf einem älteren IpadAir2 mit MackiePro10FX oder RME Babyface sehr gut und lässt sich mit einem M-Audio Xsession Midiplastikbomber gut kontrollieren, dieser bekommt jetzt noch einen Fußtaster Mod. Hammer der Musiksommer darf beginnen, genau so ne Software hat mir noch gefehlt. Jetzt bin ich nur gespannt wie ich auch an anderer Stelle als auf der Eins eine neue Loop aufnehmen kann ;) ### 5/5 — Such a great app to my Arsenal *2021-04-03, version 1.42* I use my iOS apps along side my hardware and this app, along with the other audio kit stuff, has made it so much fun for on the fly performances. Using my Digitakt midi channels gives me so much much power, using the audio kit synths/looper is like having a room full of amazing synths. First of all it has the best features and even advanced possibilities as plugin for example in AUM (even with midi controls). This app is next level! ;) In iOS 14 there was a bug (only) when using the app in a specific use case as plugin in AUM. I wrote an email to the support and now it is fixed already. This is the second time he fixed a "small" bug (which only happens in specific use cases) really fast. I am impressed!
