There is no "home" page in the app, so once the settings button is pressed there is no way back to the list of recordings which is the only place the record new file button in found. One must constantly quit the app and reopen just to return to the list of auto-saved recordings which is the only place where the button to record is found. It's kind of odd to have to go look at the list of recessing just to press the button for a new recording. It is not intuitive to get around in the app and the need to quit and reopen the app just to be able to start a new recording is cumbersome. ### 4/5 — Mace *2024-05-10, version 7.2.1* Is it a way to undelete a note? Or is it possible to retrieve a note from the cloud if it’s stored there? ### 2/5 — Interrupts loose recordings!!!! *2020-02-20* Good app except for one glaring problem.... dealbreaker - when you switch apps that use your microphone, which every mobile user does, like a phone call or camera video, even if you’re not taking a video, but camera app when changing photo type (pano, square, video, still) checks for mic availability, it STOPS AUDIONOTE RECORDING AND DOESNT AUTOMATICALLY RESUME! I lost two hours of an important meeting and when I came back to audionote it reset the file from 0:00, didnt even save to the point of interruption Otherwise a good app but you MUST FIX THIS or I wont ever use it again and risk losing recordings. Interruption happen in mobile apps. Just resume recording automatically! ### 3/5 — Camera bug? *2020-01-23* So far I like this app, but I was only able to take one photo. Its too small cant see why? ### 3/5 — Files Overlap *2018-11-12* I have this app on my older iPad mini (version 9.3.5) and it is great. However, on my newer iPad mini 4 the list of lectures overlap each other in enormous font and I can’t find and tap on the one I want to listen to. So I uninstalled it which meant losing everything. I then reinstalled it again, but after recording a few new discourses it still is doing the same thing. Why does it work perfectly on one device but is such a disappointment on the newer one? I use it to take minutes and am able to go to each section of the audio when writing my final minute report. Now it does not autosave recordings. I recorded a long very important conversation, pressed pause button, walked away then even I went back into the app the reciting of not there!!! It did not get moved automatically into a storage folder out burger else... it's just gone , the recording is nowhere to be found. I tested the app by making another recording just 8 seconds long and that one did save but even I left the app and returned a minute later that 8 second recording's content was erased and set to zero seconds without content but exact same time stamp. Wow! Totally unreliable app. You can instantly lose your recordings somehow. The old version used to auto save the recordings and you could resave again and again into different audio formats but the newer version has no save or 'save as' button and export is useless as the recordings are automatically erased they can never be exported. I'll have to delete this app and find a recorder that is totally reliable as can't risk ever losing my work as a field researcher! When I hit the pencil icon it will shut the app down. When I try to access past notes I tap on screen and nothing opens it stays on the same screen ### 1/5 — Basic not useful *2022-07-02* You need to be able to record multiple pieces of audio and place then next to text….. or type text and be able to record audio that goes with the text and play it back when you press the text selected… having one long recording does not help when you’re trying to use the app for learning a different language and you need to press the words and hear how something is pronounced. ### 1/5 — Misleading beware *2021-08-13, version 7.0.8* I purchased AudioNote for 17.99 plus tax = $20.15. The app kept asking me to upgrade to AudioNote 2. I did. You end up having AudioNote 2 with non-stop advertising. So now you get a pop up asking you to upgrade to AudioNote Pro 2, which turns out to be by a yearly subscription. When you pay that much for an app, you expect it to work as advertised. Simple. Contacted Apple, but says its not eligible for a refund. Why ### 1/5 — Latest update awful *2017-09-22, version 6.4* This app was the BEST app ever purchased - until yesterday. The 6.3 update for IOS 11 has completely changed that perspective. Today in a conference it has crashed 6 times - stopping the recording suddenly; and deleting notes and recording. Great for Meetings *2025-09-15* As you type your notes, it writes the time in the meeting where things were said. So if you actually miss something in the meeting, or didn’t understand something, you can go back and listen to it again. And later, if you’re looking for something specific and want to hear it again, you just look at your notes to find where it is in the recording. The font colour box appears to block the user from sliding the pencil line size to its minimum level. This is a problem for people who have to take notes quickly. With the thicker pencil line, you have to write larger letters in order for your handwriting to be legible. This, in turn, slows your ability to write quickly. If you choose the ‘convert to type’ pen option, the pencil is at its narrowest, so it should be possible for the app to allow a user to choose the narrowest pencil line size for all handwriting. I hope the developer can fix this soon ### 5/5 — Excellent *2020-05-03* Would prefer to see a lighter and more transparent shade at the top of the iPad screen so that the date,time, etc, is readable . I tried AudioNote and it ticks all the boxes for me. I can record and make notes on a session and then at home open it on the iPad and fill in the notes. Copy and paste the result into other apps if required.
