It’s an Apple ecosystem. Everything needs to be able to be iCloud based. I want to record and chop on my iPhone then work on my iPad or MacBook without exporting (read cloning) the files. I want to set my default folder to live in iCloud, until I get that it’s 3 stars. Apart form this big little issue it is 4,5 stars. Half star for duplication of files, e.g. I normalise the recording then get a duplicate, good in a way so it’s not destructive, but I’d like to have a choice so I don’t have to manually delete the file after I normalised it, or trimmed or whatever. ### 2/5 — No options to help keep storage free *2026-03-27, version 2.7.13* After you record a file, you’re probably going to want to trim it. Well, this app gives you no other option but to duplicate the recording and then trim. So, now for each recording you’re taking up twice the space. So, you delete it. Except there’s no option to immediately permanently delete it. You have to navigate to the trash folder and delete that. And then it asks you whether you’re sure if you want to delete it. You cannot disable this message. Doing all of that for every single recording is beyond annoying. I won’t be using this app as a result. ### 4/5 — Meister der WaveAufnahmen *2026-02-21* Toll wäre es wenn man AudioShare mit Siri starten könnte also die Aufnahme oder wenigstens dass das über das App Icon aufrufbar wäre. Seems to me a trick to make you pay more without much benefit. It's cheap still, but kinda useless to me... Sorry based on my experience i can't recommend Audio Share. Serve como conversor, editor e gravador de áudio em vários formatos. Minha única reclamação contra ele é que não é compatível com arquivos NCW. Seria ótimo poder editar e converter arquivos NCW pelo app AudioShare. Por isso, 4 estrelas. Se atualizarem e incluírem compatibilidade ao formato NCW, eu volto e tento editar classificando com 5 estrelas e agradecendo a atualização. ### 3/5 — Stuck in the past *2025-05-28, version 2.7.13* Poor integration with files in Files ### 2/5 — Pros and cons *2025-03-20, version 2.7.13* PROS: awesome functionality, I don’t think anyone else is doing this on iOS - has all the tools you need to sample and modify before using another program like a daw CONS: doesn’t save audio settings like sample rate, measurement mode, and buffer size… if you have a preference on these, you’ll have to update settings frequently. ### 5/5 — STILL MOST USEFUL APP *2025-03-05, version 2.7.13* I use this app all the time to save and sort and edit songs and samples. It is also the best app to quickly record an idea or pattern from other music apps. It is very stable and versatile when doing that. It really IS a Swiss Army knife for audio. Import and export functions are excellent. And it’s stupidly simple, there is zero learning curve which is great when you have a hot idea cooking in another app and just wanna save a track or loop for later. I’ve tried doing that with DAWs and other recorders but by the time you set them up the idea is gone or the other app crashes. I love this thing. ### 5/5 — Amen! It's just a cheap trick of this company to milk you more money without giving you anything. Why not just have AUM record in a folder of your choice? No: you have to it in a complicated way via another one of their app, which effectively doesn't work. As an avid and active power user, primarily using my iPad and iPhone to make music, I spend a lot of time in this software. For two years, the SoundCloud upload button when viewing a track has been disabled. I emailed support to ask why this was, and they said that SoundCloud updated their API and actually improved their app. It's now much more effective to upload tracks directly through SoundCloud. The four-button grid on AudioShare includes Mail it, Share it, Copy it via audio copy 3, and the general pasteboard, plus this useless SoundCloud button. I asked what they planned to do with it, but received no response. I followed up in the email thread suggesting they make that a “rename file” button. One of the most common things I have to deal with when looking at files is renaming and organizing them. To rename a file, I have to exit the track, go back to the file list, long hold the file, and then click rename. What's the point? Such a simple functionality could be improved. To see this one of four buttons in the main interface being dead every day was annoying because I’m also a software engineer. This is careless, for your customers and the quality of your product. At any rate, the lack of responsiveness from this team and lack of support for avid users is disappointing. Even though all the big music apps integrate with AudioShare, and it feels like vendor lock-in… In the age of AI-assisted development, I’m sure somebody will build a more modern and even easier version of AudioShare soon. ### 1/5 — Not working as expected *2024-08-06, version 2.7.13* The software does not work as expected. The description does not match the reality. I was expecting the app to ‘open-in’ Cubasis and offer additional preview/audition functionality beyond that offered by Cubasis’ built-in Media Bay. Asked for a refund immediately after discovering the app offered no benefit to my workflow and was refused. It would also be great to have drag-and-drop support for samples, similar to how it works in Cubasis. I use midi music studio to play the pieces until they are good enough to send them to AudioShare. It puts all my many solos in alphabetical order. So quick to find. The file import and playback options are great and it’s a cool 2-track recorder as well. And it’s completely free, no ads, no nags, no in-app purchases (although I would gladly pay). If you need audio files on your phone that aren’t imprisoned by streaming and podcast platforms, you need this. If you produce music, you need this. It’s not updated a lot, but it doesn’t need them. It just works.
