The app and protocol has so much potential but is often stuck with subpar execution of these ideas in terms of technical excellence. As an investor, user, developer I love using the platform but it is never my first pick when I just want to put on a track. Onboarding artists who are friends IRL it has failed them repeatedly and caused them to never choose it first. SoundCloud is a low bar to jump over and they still pick it almost every time. As a developer I love the api but the documentation to new devs I bring on has had them banging their heads against the wall when it was never needed to build something wonderful. Now the bad: - Upload doesn’t work the majority of the time with no indication of why. It hangs constantly and requires refilling the form with track details. - Playback will often play a completely unrelated song when going through playlists. The ugly: - Genre selection is limited, for an app clearly focused at electronic misc, a single “Electronic” genre is laughable. - Engagement is generally just less interesting than SoundCloud. I can almost guarantee that as mainstream artist start to really see what AUDIUS brings to the table, they are going to hop off exchanges like, Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, etc. These companies just see dollar signs, and pay the artist cents to the dollar. Even with billions of streams, artist don’t make as much as they should by far. When it’s artist that actually drive in the revenue. Without their music these companies wouldn’t exist, and I know for a fact that artist are tired of these middle men that have their hands in their pockets 24/7. AUDIUS changes all of this. The possibilities are endless on here! They also support influencers?
