## What is Aun?

Make a little Japanese part of your day, or your next trip.

Aun combines a gentle introduction to reading Japanese with practical phrases you can use while visiting Japan. Learn through sound, everyday words, short stories and small moments of practice.

Japan trip essentials
• Open Travel to find any of eight situations: polite essentials, asking for repetition, food, directions, trains, shopping, hotels, and needs and help.
• Hear 32 useful phrases with Japanese, kana, romaji and English.
• Search for a phrase, save it for later or show someone the Japanese in large text.
• Look up phrases straight away, then choose optional practice with short exchanges, listening and recall.
• Travel is available immediately, with no writing exercises required.

Build a Japanese foundation
• Follow 97 guided lessons through all 46 basic hiragana, all 46 basic katakana and 31 introductory kanji.
• Meet characters, listen, build words, trace strokes and practise simple sentences.
• Open Behind the word for optional stories, cultural context and word origins.
• Use Practise to revisit learned words, characters, sentence patterns and your Kotomichi street, with mixed quizzes that bring missed items back later.

Keep Japanese close
Turn a Word card widget through Japanese, its reading and English. Browse completed words with Word dial or find useful Travel phrases from your Home Screen. Hanaki widgets show your circle's tree and progress. Settings includes widget previews and matching light and dark Hanaki wallpapers to save and set yourself. Wallpaper images are snapshots; widgets keep updating as you learn.

Learn together with Circles
Open Circle to invite people by link. Share course progress through iCloud, add your lights to one Hanaki tree and open places together. Circles are optional and require iCloud sign-in. Anyone with the invitation link can join; share it only with people you want in. Each person keeps their local progress when they leave.

Aun is free, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases. No sign-in is needed for solo learning. Solo course progress and saved phrases stay on your device. Making or joining a circle also shares your course progress with its members through iCloud. Japanese audio uses your iPhone's speech voice. Aun provides a foundation for further learning and real conversations.
