## What is Auris Hi?

Auris plays the music you already have on iPhone and iPad. Add single tracks or whole folders, organize them into albums and playlists, and leave the files where they are: Auris reads them from their original location, without copying them into the app.

What Auris does

• Gapless playback: tracks flow into each other without pauses, with queue, shuffle and repeat.
• Library: albums, artists, genres, favorites and playlists, built from each file's tags.
• Import: single files or whole folders. A folder becomes an album (grouped by tags) or a playlist (in filename order).
• Now Playing: artwork, audio format details (codec, sample rate, bit depth, bitrate) and controls in one place.
• Parametric equalizer with 5 to 15 bands. Adjust frequency, gain and Q directly on the curve.
• Left and right ears: set the EQ separately for each ear, with the other ear's curve shown on the same graph.
• Spectrum: show the output spectrum, or compare before and after the EQ.
• Import EQ files from AutoEQ, squig.link, Peace / Equalizer APO and Wavelet GraphicEQ. Each file becomes a preset.
• Balance: in Settings, lower the louder side by up to 6 dB.
• Crossfeed for headphones: optional, it blends a small part of each channel into the other for a more speaker-like listening experience.
• EQ presets sync with iCloud.

Before you start

• Auris is not a streaming service: it plays only the files you add to your device.
• Files stay where they are. Removing a track from Auris does not delete the file. If you move or delete the file elsewhere, that track can no longer be played.
• EQ, Balance and Crossfeed change the sound. Use EQ Bypass to hear the original at any time.
• Crossfeed is designed for headphones: with speakers, leave it off.

### 5/5 — Best music player for iOS?

*2026-10-18*

I decided to switch from foobar2000 after seeing this on Reddit. And goddamn, this is GOOD.

Starting off with positives: The AutoEQ is spot on, it’s perfect for beginners and audiophiles alike. I love how I don’t have to mess with anything, as the clipping detection is incredibly clear and accurate. The different presets are quite cool, but I’m unsure if I’ll use them.

Now for negatives: The overall design can feel a bit overwhelming.

 - Having the audio data involved in everything is quite annoying and distracting. This involves the audio quality of the file, including if Crossfeed or EQ is enabled / disabled.

- On the main tab, having favorites, and all of this other information is redundant. Good idea could maybe make it text based instead?

- Maybe there could be options to remove the additional buttons (next track in top left corner, device sharing, shuffle, and loop settings)

Overall, I love this, and this would definitely be the best app for beginners. For me personally, the UI needs some refinement to make it less cluttered? But those are really my only complaints! I have yet to make the permanent switch from f2k, but I’m excited to see what this app can become 😅❤️

### 2.0 — 2026-10-09

Introducing the biggest Auris update yet.

• Separate EQ for each ear: tune the left and right channels independently, with the other ear shown dashed on the same graph.
• Import EQ files from AutoEQ, squig.link, Peace / Equalizer APO and Wavelet GraphicEQ. Each file becomes a preset, and a short note lists anything Auris could not use.
• Bands now move anywhere from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, even past each other.
• Choose how many bands to use, from 5 to 15, in Settings.
• Touch and hold a band's dot to open its detail panel. A tap now only selects it.
• New Balance control in Settings: lower the louder ear by up to 6 dB.
• Choose the new spectrum view: Off, Output, or Before / After.
• iCloud preset sync: presets you create or edit in this version reach a device still on an older version only after you update it.

Thanks for using Auris!

### 1.7.2 — 2026-09-28

• Auris is now available in Italian, French, Spanish, German, and Japanese.
• Your saved EQ presets can now sync across your iPhone and iPad with iCloud. Turn it on in Settings; your current EQ stays on each device.

• Improved iPad Now Playing sheet

Thanks for using Auris!
