## What is Auritype?

Turn audio and video into a searchable, navigable transcript — entirely on your Mac. Auritype transcribes locally using Whisper, accelerated by Apple Silicon, so nothing you record or import is ever uploaded to a server.

ON-DEVICE TRANSCRIPTION
Import an audio or video file and Auritype transcribes it right on your Mac, with word-level timestamps. No internet connection required once your transcription model is downloaded, no account, no cloud processing.

A TRANSCRIPT THAT FOLLOWS ALONG
The waveform and transcript scroll together as you play — the current word highlights in real time. Click any word in the transcript to jump playback straight there. Getting to the exact moment has never been this direct.

SEARCH THAT FINDS IT
Search inside a single recording, or across your entire library at once. Results are ranked by how many times a term appears, and every hit jumps straight to the moment it was said — no more scrubbing through an hour of audio to find one line.

CLIP EXPORT
Select a range on the waveform or in the transcript and export it as its own audio file — losslessly, where the source format allows it. Perfect for pulling a quote, a soundbite, or a highlight out of a longer recording.

BOOKMARKS & PLAYBACK SEQUENCES
Mark the moments that matter as you go, then play your bookmarks back in order — with looping — instead of re-scrubbing the whole recording every time you want to revisit them.
