### 3/5 — Good App

*2026-03-14*

I like the app. The layout is good and the forecasts are solid. But, the intelligence review always says there is heavy cloud. Always. Even when further into the app it says the cloud cover is 3%, intelligence still says to stay indoors due to heavy cloud cover. This piece needs work if this app is to realize it’s strong potential

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback! You're absolutely right — if the cloud cover is showing 3% inside the app but the AI intelligence is still recommending staying indoors due to heavy cloud, that's clearly a bug and not the experience we want for you. We're looking into this and will work to get it fixed. Really appreciate you pointing it out so specifically — it helps us a lot. Hope you get to see some amazing auroras soon! 🌌

### 2/5 — Not Happy with the update!!!

*2026-03-10, version 6.1.0*

Do not update to the new version, you will lose the long term forecast! WHY DID YOU DELETE THAT???

### 2/5 — Oh, no! Not AI !

*2026-02-19*

New version touts all kinds of AI features but it still thought I lived in Nome, Alaska. If it can’t figure out where I am, what’s the likelihood of it being accurate in its forecast? They’ve taken what was a fine app and ruined it with AI just for marketing value, then nag you to subscribe to it.

**Developer response:** We’re sorry to hear that the recent update has been disappointing. Please know that the location error is a bug we are actively working to iron out right now. It is definitely not the experience we want for our users.

We also value your feedback on the AI and marketing approach; we’ll be discussing this internally to ensure the app remains helpful and user-friendly. We hope to win you back once the fix is live.

### 2/5 — Northern lights?!

*2026-01-20, version 5.0.12*

Always defaults to northern lights. I live in the southern hemisphere so the app is pretty useless to me (and basically half of the planet). Maybe add an option that doesn’t default to the northern hemisphere and you might get a few more paying customers.

### 1/5 — Free trial not so free

*2025-11-13, version 5.0.12*

Tried the free trial and cancelled immediately, but was still charged for a year subscription. No way to contact anyone to resolve.

### 1/5 — Don’t work

*2025-11-12, version 5.0.12*

I was just outside watching a beautiful show of the aurora and pulled up this app to see how strong it was. The app says 0% chance of viewing in my area and the map shows it’s way north of me. Uninstalling

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2025-11-12, version 5.0.12*

This always says 0 chance, even when i am viewing the most i credible lights ever.

### 2/5 — No Southern lights….?

*2025-11-07, version 5.0.12*

Living the southern hemisphere it’s likely the Southern lights/Aurora Australia will occur at similar times. Where is the setting to receive southern lights warning….

### 1/5 — If I could go lower, I would

*2025-10-17*

This is the worst app I’ve ever it does the exact opposite of what it says it does if you don’t want to see Aurora follow this app.

### 1/5 — Absolutely inaccurate for UK

*2025-09-30, version 5.0.12*

Had spectacular sightings and your forecast deems 0% chance!

### 3/5 — Not great for Souther Hemisphere

*2025-09-30, version 5.0.12*

I’m in Australia but the app only gives me the probability of seeing the Northern Lights rather than Southern Lights. V strange

### 1/5 — Don’t bother using this app

*2025-09-15, version 5.0.12*

Forecast for Aurora in my county was 0%. I read this forecast immediately after viewing the Aurora!

### 1/5 — App did not perform as expected

*2025-09-02*

I was once standing below the most incredible, hours long aurora display I have ever witnessed, and when I opened the app it indicated a 1% chance of seeing northern lights in my location at that moment.

### 3/5 — Alertes

*2025-08-18*

### 1/5 — Makes no sense

*2025-07-02, version 5.0.12*

The app sends you notice in the daytime that you might see aurora within a few hours…it’s daylight, geniuses. Also, the notice says lvl4 and the app says 0% chance. Which is it?

### 1/5 — Does not update

*2025-03-28*

Of little use if I cannot get the latest information. I’ve missed many auras because or it

### 1/5 — Won’t update.

*2025-03-28, version 5.0.10*

App is stuck on old data and won’t update. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no success. I would like a refund.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Hate the new format

*2026-06-09, version 6.2.4*

I used to love this app. But since a couple updates ago, I now find it worthless. I miss the short and long term forecast charts and hourly timing. I used to use this app all over the world but not any more.

### 1/5 — Payant…

*2026-06-05*

### 1/5 — New cell and again a payment

*2026-04-18*

Every time I change my cell this app ask for a payment and I paid because I wanted all features. Now it’s so extreme expensive that I decided I’m done with this app. I think it was around 15 years my favourite app. Sorry it’s done now!

**Developer response:** Dear valued customer,

Thank you sincerely for your loyalty and continued support over the past 15 years. It means a great deal to us.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. The repeated payment requests triggered when changing your cell is the result of a bug in our system, and is in no way an intended feature. We take full responsibility and are currently investigating the issue as our highest priority. A fix will be deployed as soon as possible.

We sincerely hope you will allow us the opportunity to resolve this matter. Your trust and satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us, and we would be deeply sorry to lose a valued member of our community after so many years together.

### 1/5 — Unable to get widgets to display or AI

*2026-04-02*

While I have a full year subscription I can’t get the widgets to display. All widget say a subscription is needed. I also can’t get the AI feature to work. I have an iPhone 17 pro max that fully supports this feature but I still can’t get it.

This is a handsome application but the lack of direct communication is causing a problem

I have not found a way to contact the author so I’m posting the problem here.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback — you raise a great point about the lack of a direct contact option, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

I'm currently looking into the widget and AI feature issues you described, and will release an update to fix them as soon as possible. I'll also be adding a "Contact Us" button within the app so you can reach me directly in the future.

In the meantime, please feel free to contact me at support@tinacinc.com so I can help resolve your issue right away.

Thank you for your patience and support!

### 1/5 — Die Wolken sind bewölkt

*2026-03-26*

### 1/5 — New upate, more $$ ??nope deleted, unsub

*2026-02-25*

App was okay prior to the update. 4/5. Disappointed to see the new update immediately after I paid for my year. Now there’s locked settings. Will not use. Deleted and unsubscribed. Wish I’d known before resubscribing for the year. Not my fave app but was happy to support the data. Not anymore.

### 1/5 — Keine Benachrichtigung

*2026-01-20*

### 1/5 — Map never loads

*2026-01-20, version 5.0.12*

I’ve downloaded this app several months ago, but despite receiving alerts
and clicking on them, I’ve never had the viewing map load. The “wheel” spins endlessly, asking for patience, but nothing ever loads.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2026-01-19, version 5.0.12*

I have a picture of the northern lights and the app says zero chance of seeing them… I’m in UK and it is unique to see them… it’s all over the news but the app says zero probability!

### 1/5 — Won’t delete

*2025-11-16, version 5.0.12*

I have tried to delete this app multiple times and the next morning it’s back on my Home Screen

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Top

*2026-03-05*

### 5/5 — 👍🏼

*2025-12-05*

Really good 💗

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2025-11-12, version 5.0.12*

Excellent app with nice graphs

One question - why in the Aurora Forecast page charts the time is not defined - is it local time at location or UT?

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2024-12-31*

There is nothing hokey about this one! It’s accurate with its mapping and forecasting, lists its (mostly MIT) sources, and its easy to use. Even if you weren’t just using it to spin the globe around to see how the lights were interacting with the atmosphere above your house, there’s lots of graphs, sun photos, and data points to look at, more than I’ll ever use or figure out. One thing I would like to see is a section explaining exactly what all the different telephoto filters and graphs represent. It’s hard to search for all that on the internet without knowing what any of it means! One thing that I’d like to share; even if the map says that you have a 0° chance of seeing the northern lights, if the global map shows the colour relatively close, get out there with your phone on a tripod and point it north. If you can get a 30 second exposure on your photo, the camera will pick up some pretty crazy stuff!
Overall, I use this app all the time! Love it !

### 5/5 — Works

*2024-11-29*

This was the only app that successfully alerted us to northern light activity on our Nov 2024 trip to Iceland. Every time it sent a notification, we went outside and were able to capture some activity. None of the other apps did. Worth every penny for the subscription!

### 5/5 — 21

*2024-11-23, version 5.0.10*

34

### 5/5 — Bonsoir monsieur

*2024-10-28*

Je bien contente de vous voir.

### 5/5 — A must have for those who love the beauty of Aurora

*2024-10-11*

Aurora Forecast is an incredible app that makes it easy to share the magic of the Northern Lights with my daughters. Its accurate predictions and real-time alerts help us plan the perfect nights to witness the auroras together. Highly recommended for families looking to enjoy nature’s light show!

### 5/5 — Auroras in Tasmania

*2024-08-05, version 5.0.10*

Fantastic app, with a dizzying array of information. Only criticism is that it always discusses my option of seeing the northern lights, which in Tasmania is nil. Cannot see how to undo this error.

### 5/5 — Very good app!

*2024-07-31*

Works great but it would be nice to be able to set the time frame for alerts. I don’t need to know during the day as they won’t be visible.
