### 1/5 — Removed homeless camp feature

*2021-10-19*

You removed the ability to report homeless encampments. You are worthless as a city agency.

### 1/5 — You’re kidding!

*2021-10-01*

Just got the app thinking it would be easier to do things like report the current power outage. Website couldn’t find my account, neither could the app. Not only could it not find my account info, when it was supposed to be locating me on the map of power outages, I am apparently 5 blocks away from where I thought I was! Useless! Will be deleting this app. Another CoA screw up. MDS

### 1/5 — As Good as the City

*2021-07-03*

Only purpose is to find out where the remaining American Citizens live so they can be exterminated like a roach. Report something and see what happens to you.

### 1/5 — They don’t care

*2021-01-25*

Not once have they taken any sort of action after any of my reports

### 1/5 — Waste of Time

*2019-10-26*

Report whatever you want. It’ll get closed without getting resolved. Best bet is to just move out of Austin to a better city.

### 2/5 — Not enough functionality

*2019-08-31*

I can count on one finger the number of times I’ve reported anything to the city of Austin in the last 8 years I’ve been here. On the other hand, I’ve had to look up the bulk pickup schedule dozens of times on the very clunky website.

Bring more features to this app please! Will left uninstalled for now.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2019-07-05, version 3.18.1*

Worked for one day and now says registering and quit working. Useless.... thanks Austin 311.

### 1/5 — Impossible to report power outage

*2019-04-18, version 3.18.1*

Never works. Not sure if it’s an app issue or the backend. But incredibly frustrating.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work.

*2018-10-10*

I couldn’t get this app to work at all. When I click “New Request,” it says, “Registering,” and eventually says it can’t register me.

### 1/5 — This app is a joke

*2017-05-12, version 3.17.2*

They don't fix anything. They just mark your issues as resolved with no explanation or resolution of any kind. Unless it's retail related, the city of Austin gets improved at a glacial pace.

### 1/5 — BEWARE!! More is captured than disclosed

*2017-05-09, version 3.17.2*

FYI this app captures more information that the City discloses in their privacy and TOS agreement. For instance they track your unique device identifier.

### 1/5 — Limited functionality and nothing is done to solve the reported issue

*2016-09-24, version 3.16.10*

I submitted a report 252 days ago. Nothing has happened. I call every few months and they just tell me their system shows my request is still open. It seems just as little thought and care was put into this app as is put into public services by Austin government agencies.

### 1/5 — Requests Disappear

*2016-04-21, version 3.15.2*

It's pointless to waste your time with this app since any requests you take the time to enter will just disappear with no explanation.

### 1/5 — Worthless!

*2016-03-07, version 3.13.9*

I have reported abandoned trailers collecting junk three times. The very next day the status changes to resolved with nothing being done. I have emailed them and their reply is always the same, they forwarded the complaint to the police department and in doing so, claim that solves the complaint. Worthless app when they assume the police are going to do their job. Don't waste your time and effort.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What’s the point

*2026-02-15*

I downloaded the app to report a bunch of commercials cars parked outside of my apartment, some blocking fire hydrants or just blocking the dumpster area but so far nothing has been done and by the way other reviews have also reported the same it looks like it never will so what’s the point of this app? There’s no enforcement at all so anyone can just park where they feel like it I guess

### 1/5 — App Keeps Crashing

*2025-10-08*

App keeps crashing. Even after deleting and reinstalling the app and making sure it’s running on the latest version on IPhone 16 Pro - seems like during ACL weekend it maybe over loaded.

### 1/5 — Horrible functionality

*2025-01-10*

App crashes when you try and use the search feature on the frequently reported link.

### 1/5 — White Screen When Launched

*2024-06-19*

This app used to work. Now when you launch it, you just get a white screen.

### 1/5 — New version is awful

*2024-02-15*

There was nothing wrong with the previous 311 app and the new one is a downgrade. The first step is “what are you reporting” that does nothing. You still have to choose what you are trying to report. You can’t add a picture to the actual request, only at the first “what are you here for”. It’s clunky. I hope city of Austin didn’t spend a lot of money on this “upgrade” if so you wasted our tax money. Whoever chose this software made a mistake.

### 1/5 — Ability to report public camping removed

*2023-12-15*

The latest update removed the ability to report vagrant camps in public parks.

### 1/5 — Lazy city employees won’t help

*2023-07-14*

If you report an issue to 311, your ticket will be closed out without any resolution and the issue will go unfixed. You’d think our ridiculously high property taxes would give you more in return

### 1/5 — Hard to report issues

*2023-06-08*

My issues are closed with no action taken. Ability to report homeless and transient camps is removed.

### 1/5 — App completely non-functional as of 2023.

*2023-01-12, version 3.20.13*

The “New Request” option in the app no longer works/opens at all, which is the entire reason for the app. Granted, the copyright for the app is 2009-2020 so it’s possible they didn’t think it would last this long.

### 1/5 — Can't report homeless encampments

*2022-05-07*

Common reports like homeless camps and light poles going out cannot be reported, and I can't use it to find trash and bulk pickup schedules but for some reason "COVID information" is on the front page? Doesn't make sense

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It does what it’s supposed to do

*2026-02-15*

This is not an app to report a power outage or needing the police to come or anything like that – it’s just for reporting things like debris in the road, dead animals, etc. Stuff you would normally call 311 about. If you have a power outage, the Austin Energy app is great for that.

My only complaint is that one time I reported an unsafe new traffic pattern and they closed it as inspected no action required, but lo and behold two months later they fixed it. I wish I knew if they had planned to fix it before or they thought they didn’t have to fix it and then enough people complained and then they did. Just curious.

### 5/5 — Clunky, sure. But the BEST WAY to contact COA

*2024-08-02*

Forget phone calls and emails, this 311 app is the BEST way to contact City of Austin about issues. Whether or not your issue ultimately gets resolved, submissions to this app always get a quick response so it's so worth downloading and using.

### 5/5 — Great tool!

*2020-05-18*

I’ve only had to use the app a few times but it’s such a simple way to make requests to the city. The latest storm knocked a tree into the street in front of my house; I made a request, submitted a pic and waited. I got an update to my request in the app a few hours later saying it had been forwarded to 911 and Public works; a few minutes later, an officer came to check it out. He made sure there wasn’t a safety issue and let us know Public Works would be out to take care of the tree ASAP. A couple of hours later the crew showed up and took care of the tree. It’s a little unbelievable how efficient the whole process was.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2018-07-29*

This app makes it easy to report violations and damage to the city. All my reports have been followed through to resolved or have resulted in being contacted personally to let me know the incident was being moved to the county department. Excellent resource and I’m very pleased with the city staff.

### 5/5 — Works great - photos too

*2016-08-06, version 3.16.10*

Has worked well for graffiti removal and dangerous pruning. GPS and photo attachments a big plus.

### 5/5 — So far, so good

*2014-07-31, version 3.9.1799*

I have only used the app once to report trees interfering with power lines. Two hours later, Austin Energy had a truck at the site.

### 5/5 — Finally a bright idea

*2014-07-30, version 3.9.1799*

This is a long time in the making. Generally hold time for 311 is 4 or 5 minutes. This is going to make reporting water wasters much quicker. PHOTOS included!

### 4/5 — Great app—very useful

*2021-09-10*

I can download photos; see what else is going on around me!
really appreciate it! You have a tough job; always more to do than time to do it—thank you so much!

### 4/5 — Quick and Easy - When It Works

*2014-11-03, version 3.9.1799*

The app has been crashing on start-up lately. But when it is working, the app is a quick and easy way to report issues to 3-1-1.

### 4/5 — Makes Life Easier

*2014-08-01, version 3.9.1799*

Instead of waiting on the phone you can deal with your city issue quick and easy!
