## Newest reviews (10 of 71)

### 2/5 — Seems quite out of date

*2021-06-09, version 2.5.3*

Not sure if this app is updated regularly (or how the information is kept up to date) but I’ve see at least two restaurants in there that no longer exist, which makes me wonder how useful it is.

### 2/5 — Poor usability

*2020-06-09, version 2.5.3*

The filters and sorting options aren’t useful. Why can things only be sorted in one direction? (Eg price - descending only...)

### 4/5 — Uncle lime Lismore

*2017-10-26, version 2.5*

True Chinese food best in Lismore NSW 67 Wyrahalla red

### 1/5 — Pretty useless

*2016-10-07, version 2.0*

Sorry, but your app is pretty useless. I downloaded after I found that your website was pretty useless. My use case is "show me Japanese restaurants in Sydney". Nope. "Accommodation" and "Bars" are not types of cuisine. and when I say Sydney, I mean all Sydney suburbs. not just Sydney CBD. Even just being to select my state would have been nice. Ok so I thought I would try and use the map. nope. The only pins dropped are in the centre of my screen. that's probably less than 10% of the map screen real estate. Maybe before you release the next version, you should actually try and use the app and pretend you're a user or something. good luck!

### 2/5 — Offline

*2013-06-03, version 2.0*

Constantly say offline despite being on all the time. Could be a good app.

### 2/5 — Needs more work

*2012-12-31, version 2.0*

Should add diners' reviews to this app. They're available on the AGFG website.

### 1/5 — Information is out of date ... By YEARS!

*2012-07-15, version 1.0.0.8*

The first thing I did when I downloaded this app was to have a look at what it showed for local restaurants in my regional town. It showed two only ... One of which closed down about 5 years ago, the other is only a cafe (not a restaurant) and it closes by 5pm. There are many local eateries missing (and by many I mean at least a dozen in our community of 8000). "Function venues" and "wineries" were also incomplete and out of date. What a waste of bandwidth. Don't bother with this app, you will miss out on the best places to eat and be directed to a vacant building!

### 2/5 — Awful search function

*2012-04-25, version 1.0.0.8*

If this app had a decent search function it might get more stars, as it is you cannot search for a restaurant without knowing what suburb it is in. Fix this and it will be far more user-friendly.

### 4/5 — Great overall

*2012-03-14, version 1.0.0.8*

Would have given a 5 star if the app allowed to search outside the suburb your currently in. U have to use the map feature to search outside your area which is annoying, but overall a well presented, useful app.

### 2/5 — Has promise, needs a bit more work

*2011-11-27, version 1.0.0.8*

The map function seems I believe that surrey hills is in hay market and the interface is a bit kludgy and frustrating. It seems to have a lot of potential, but not quite there yet.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — A load of rubbish app

*2025-07-04, version 3.1.4*

Don’t use the app to book anything. Use the restaurant own website.

### 1/5 — Avoid.

*2025-02-16, version 3.1.2*

This app is not only clunky but it’s obvious after a minute or two of use that it’s not updated regularly. Places are either closed or incorrectly located when you go by the app listing location or have been closed permanently for years. Relying on users to then call in these errors is just lazy. It’s a shame that map apps have better, more up to date listings than what should be a go-to guide and food guides in general. This Clayton’s food guide shows how far the Australian Good Food Guide has fallen from grace and no longer has the reputation it once did. Otherwise it would invest money and time in an app that is current and correct. A shame it couldn’t care less.

### 1/5 — Apps callaps

*2024-04-23, version 3.1.0*

Apps collapses each time I press Start Navigate. That's pathetic

### 1/5 — Out of date!

*2023-12-26, version 2.5.3*

Please update this when the new winners are announced. Not 10 months later.

### 1/5 — Probably the worst app ever designed

*2023-06-18, version 2.5.3*

My 8 years old could design a better app. Have a look at how the Michelin guide app is designed and simply do the same functionalities. What is expected from your app:
- Sort by higher and lower (not just one way)
- filter by a specific number of hats
- search restaurant near a specific location (not just near me) what if people want to plan before being in the location
- filter for type of cuisine
- multiple filters option (e.g a restaurant with French cuisine that has 3 hats and within 10km)

### 1/5 — Pricey

*2022-02-03, version 2.5.3*

Why is every restaurant rated $$$$ ?

### 1/5 — Can’t choose own location. Only sorts near by.

*2021-04-05, version 2.5.3*

No good.

### 1/5 — Outdated information

*2020-06-15, version 2.5.3*

The information in the app is outdated. Scrolled through local area and saw about 4 places that have been closed for over a year

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2019-05-15, version 2.5.2*

Would be good in Sydney. Otherwise rubbish

### 1/5 — What’s the point of having this app? 😖

*2017-10-08, version 2.0*

What’s the point of having this app - it’s five years old and will not work with iOS 11!!!
