## What is Authara?

Authara is a premium authenticator app that does something no other app does: it keeps your recovery codes right next to the accounts they protect.

Most people lose their recovery codes. They paste them in a notes app, screenshot them, or skip saving them entirely. Then their phone is lost or reset, and they're locked out — not just from the authenticator, but from the account itself.

Authara fixes that.

AUTHENTICATOR + RECOVERY VAULT
Add any account that supports standard two-factor authentication. Authara shows you a live TOTP code with a real-time countdown. Tap to copy. And right there, alongside the code, is a secure place to store the recovery codes that came with it.

SECURITY YOU CAN TRUST
Your vault is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Your PIN is never stored — it's used to derive your encryption key using Argon2id, the gold standard for password hashing. Authara uses platform-native cryptography: CryptoKit on iOS, the same APIs Apple uses for banking and healthcare applications. Nothing leaves your device.

FACE ID AND PIN UNLOCK
Unlock instantly with Face ID or Touch ID. Your PIN is always available as a fallback. Biometric is a convenience layer — your vault's cryptographic foundation is always your PIN.
