Googleda bedava . So every time you open the app there’s a misleading screen that gives you pro version pricing and it feels a little like having your accounts held hostage until you find the subtle skip button. Today I couldn’t find the skip button. I think they removed it? Maybe I’m blind, who knows. Anyways I switched to “Proton Authenticator” and it works. Fine. No hostage situations. Would recommend. A donation button would have been fine. I’d throw you guy 5 bucks for saving me time - but I’m not paying 70$ for a product that in no way differentiates itself from the other authenticator apps. Lastly I feel like “Auth for Google Authenticator” is a misleading name. They are in no way associated with Google best I can tell. Doesn’t inspire trust in a security app. Once again - would recommend a switch to Proton Authenticator. ### 1/5 — I *2026-04-29, version 2.2* I cannot get the QR code to scan. The program has my screen saver in the scanner and won't move the item I am trying to scan into the bos. ### 1/5 — Not a Google authentication *2026-04-04, version 2.2* This app is not google auth! Its just can get you access to your google auth taking your money! Waste of time! ### 1/5 — I can be close subscription *2026-03-24, version 2.2* App difficult to use ### 1/5 — İçerde ödeme talep ediyor *2026-01-29, version 2.2* Kötü bir uygulama ### 1/5 — 这不是谷歌那个，别下！！！ ### 3/5 — More pop-up’s *2025-12-16* Замучали постоянное предложение подписки. No deja hacer nada si no se paga ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — 别下这个，假的收费 *2026-10-08* 拉🐔 ### 1/5 — Where’s The numbers? *2026-09-27* The app does not display the six authentication numbers. They are just dots. Really bad. Wasted my money before testing it. ### 1/5 — Completely Useless — It Won’t Even Launch *2026-09-25* **Completely Useless — It Won’t Even Launch** This app is basically unusable. It doesn’t even launch properly, so I couldn’t use any of its features. An app that cannot even start should not be released in this state. Extremely disappointing experience. ### 1/5 — Prequel to Get Smart?? *2026-09-10* Shocked there’s immediately a grammatical error upon opening the app for the first time. It’s prompting me to click on the wide blue background link button that says in white font: “Get Start”. The window is basic with only that prompt link along the bottom of the page, centered above it at the top is a large white “shield” icon with a blue “lock” icon inside. The word “Authenticator” in bold white font underneath the shield. In smaller plain font on the next line is “Two Factor Authentication”…… I expect more. This error creates doubt of the validity of the service and would never have happened *on the title page of all places* of a GOOGLE product prior to the hold AI has on people and systems. Not cool. “Get Start” yes, that’s what it says! ### 1/5 — Makes it hard to cancel subscription *2026-07-06* There is no simple steps to cancel subscription. ### 1/5 — 骗人的假冒产品 *2026-07-05* 骗钱的冒牌货，不要上当 ### 1/5 — 非官方 *2026-06-30* 收费 ### 1/5 — Predatory Practices *2026-06-25, version 2.3.3* I nearly got locked out of an account because I was under the impression that I could choose to update to premium if I needed to. As it turns out, they decided to lock me out of the account unless I agreed to pay for a subscription. Don’t waste your time on this, just use Google authenticator from the start so you’re not stuck in a bad position. Canceled the subscription and changed my 2 factor authentication immediately. Sucks because it was a simple and nice app but I will never have my account held hostage again. ### 1/5 — Knock off the Premium ads *2026-06-18* I just want to be able to use my basic authenticator when I need it, but I keep getting these ads trying to force me to buy the premium version. I don’t want the premium version. I just want to use the app as my MFA tool. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — mr *2026-10-06* John ### 5/5 — Natan Terribele - Authenticator *2026-07-11* Ótima ferramenta para segurança de dados pessoais ### 5/5 — Daniel *2026-07-05* Daniel ### 5/5 — Lawyer *2025-12-21* This is a solid, and simple product to use. Blessings. ### 5/5 — HI *2025-11-20, version 2.1.1* I NEED YOUR PROTECTION TO CREATE ACCOUNT AGAIN ### 5/5 — Scott *2025-09-10, version 1.8.2* Meehan ### 5/5 — Essential to have! *2025-07-16, version 1.7* Works like a charm ### 5/5 — La vie *2025-06-29* Vie ### 5/5 — Why charge? *2025-06-08, version 1.6* mobile app is free.
