## What is Authenticon?

A neon scene that never repeats, and a small ritual you do with another person.

Authenticon draws everything on screen from the clock. At the same moment, the scene looks the same on every phone in the world. That one fact makes the ritual work.

THE RITUAL
On a video call, you both open Authenticon. Count down out loud: three, two, one. Then you both hold SYNC for two seconds. From that moment both phones run the same scene and show the same short code, like NEON · TIGER · 42. Read yours out loud. If the codes match, you really did sync together.

A video recorded yesterday cannot join a countdown that happens today. That is what the ritual is good for: it rules out replayed videos and lazy fakes, and it gives two people a shared moment of "we are both here right now".

To be clear about the limits: this is not a security product. It does not check who someone is, and anyone with the app who hears your countdown can sync too. Matching codes mean "we did this together", nothing more. We think that is still worth having, and we would rather say it plainly.

WHAT'S INSIDE

FREE AND OFFLINE
The app is free. It works completely offline, sends nothing anywhere, and has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. There is one optional purchase: the Midnight theme, a darker blood-red look with its own set of poems. That is the only thing money buys here.

Try the ritual on your next call. It takes ten seconds, and it is a nice thing to stare at while you talk.

Authenticon 0.2 is a big one. The app is now free.

The short version: everything that used to cost money is now free, the ritual got much easier to do on a real call, and there is more to keep on your phone.

NOW FREE
The app used to be paid. That was the wrong shape for something you do with another person, because both of you need the app. So it is free now. One optional theme is a small one-time purchase, and that is the only thing money buys here.

SPOKEN SYNC CODES
After you sync, both screens show the same short code, like NEON · TIGER · 42. Read it out loud and compare. Matching codes mean you really synced in the same moment. No more squinting at moving patterns.

CALL MODE
Hold the camera cell in the lower left corner of the grid. The scene rebuilds itself for webcams: thicker lines, one big shape, a giant code. Hold your phone up to the camera and the person on the other end can read it through the video stream.

PRIVATE NOTES
A small notepad behind a PIN. Open it from the help screen, or tap four times in the middle of the main screen. Notes stay on this phone and are never uploaded.

SIX LANGUAGES
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Polish. Switch right inside the app, no trip to iOS Settings needed.

• A short intro that walks you through the ritual on first launch.
• The scene is now exactly in step across phones. Two phones that sync in the same moment show the same picture, down to the glitches.
